My children have been coming to this dentist for year's I used to love coming here. My daughter had an appointment I was unaware of I always took my children to all of there appointments never missed or cancelled any appointments. We have spent $6,000 + on my daughters braces and retainers here and for them to just kick my children out as patients is so unprofessional. I was NOT even aware of the appointment that my daughter supposedly had and now I have to start all over and find a new dentist for my children all over this appointment we had no clue about. I would highly recommend not giving this place money after all I've spent here just to be kicked out is ridiculous!!! The Dr was Very rude to my fiance... Your lucky you are one of the few doctors that take Medicaid in Vero Beach or you would be shut down with your entitled disrespectful and rude attitude... You need to call an apologize for how she was treated by YOU in YOUR office

I read these reviews.....superb professional, very thorough, friendly staff, Dr. was great made my son laugh put him at ease and explained everything very clearly. They gave me a treatment plan for my child's care he needed oral surgery wasnt scheduled 6 months down the road went in 8/21/19 my sons surgery is scheduled 9/11/19. Again cant imagine these people treating patients badly unless you bring it upon yourself or not follow the appointment procedures of properly going cancelling appointments...... I wish there was somewhere else for my granddaughter to go. I hope the attitude of the front office staff isn't a reflection of the Dr. I dislike coming here but they are the only one who take our insurance.

Just got my braces off 4 maybe 5 months ago for the second time because the first time they came off I wasn’t happy with the results my tooth didn’t come down all the way So they put them back on after acting like they really didn’t want to , I had them on for 3 months then they took them off again I still wasn’t happy with how they looked but they told me this is the best it’s gonna get so anyways I lost my retainer down in the keys so I went to key west for a new retainer and they’re telling me I need braces again and pointing out everything that was done wrong which I already pointed out to the dermodys and the dermodys said that it was fine my smile looked great I am very disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone the dentist in the keys couldn’t believe that they just took off my braces how they were another girl said how can people do that to someone I’m very upset Just got my braces off 4 maybe 5 months ago for the second time because the first time they came off I wasn’t happy with the results my tooth didn’t come down all the way So they put them back on after acting like they really didn’t want to … More

I will start off by saying they were great with my daughter as for the actual appointment and cleaning by the doctor and hygienists. They were so good with her especially since she is terrified of needles and a previous dentist had poked her with the pick and now she associates the dentist with needles (she’s 4). It is their customer service and office staff leave a lot to be desired. My daughter needed to have a dental procedure done in their sergical center. After waiting for the appointment for 3 months after the issue was discovered, the office staff waited until the night before to tell me they would have to cancel because my daughter’s pediatrician said she had a cough and prescribed antibiotics which I assured them he did not and she had not taken any kind of medication in over 2 weeks. Due to the lateness they were calling there was no way to get in touch with the doctors office to confirm that night and her procedure was scheduled for 7:00 am the next morning and the doctors office would still be closed. So it was canceled and reschedule for 6 MONTHS later. They now called to cancel it again because of insurance issues which we would not have had 6 months ago if they had listened to the patient’s parent and not a slip of paper which they had in a timely enough manner to call and confirm whether or not she indeed was on medication. The woman I spoke too acted as if I would risk my only child’s health by lying to them about medication. Not to mention they in no way tried to work with me to get her a sooner appointment after canceling the first and continuing to risk my child’s health should the condition have worsened in the 6 more months she had to wait in addition to the first 3 months when the problem was discovered. When addressing my concerns over their lack of concern for their patient and lack of timelines in addressing the issues, I was told “it’s not our problem she doesn’t have insurance”. Which is insulting in and of itself since a he does infact have insurance but it is currently not one they accept. I am livid right now that my child has to suffer because the staff obviously does not care about children and in my opinion should find different professions where they don’t have to deal with children or their parents since they can’t seem to understand that delaying things can harm the child not only now but in future development. In all honesty I would have accepted the situation and not left a bad review if it wasn’t for the poor attitude and general lack of care displayed by the staff. Shame on them. I do not know why peoples reviews say what they say. The staff has been so professional, caring, helpful, and nice to me and my little girl. I was allowed to go into the room with my daughter with no issues. Dr Dermody is so wonderful with kids! I was so fearful trying to find a dentist for my daughter and I couldn't be happier! After reviewing the negative reviews, we decided to take a chance and take our son for a visit. Our new patient appointment was at 2:20 and were asked to arrive at 2:00pm. Since we made the appointment a week before, we received 3 text messages to confirm our appointment. The staff were very professional and friendly upon arrival and check in. There is a form explicitly stating that if you do not cancel an appointment within 48 hours, they will refer you to another dentist. I understand and agree to the policy that no call/no show appointments affect the speed of patients wanting to make an appointment as well as the value of the Dentists time. Our son was called back for X-rays and a cleaning. We weren’t allowed to go back as a practice most pediatric dentists have. The child can interpret a parents stress. After some time, we were brought back to see our son smiling away and ready to show us his super clean teeth. Dr. Robert Dermody soon came in and examined our son’s teeth in great detail and discussed his findings while we were present. He was very kind and gentle which even more made the experience positive. After the exam, were then seated in the waiting room to wait to review a treatment plan. After a short time, the desk attendant carefully reviewed the plan outlined for our son. I was impressed that care was given in spacing his visits to ensure each experience is short and positive. We are very pleased with our choice and recommend that you also visit their office to experience for yourself friendly and professional care by Dr. Robert Dermody. Liars! Very,very,very rude staff.Recieved a confirmation call about an appt which I canceled until I could get a better day off from work staff ok'd it.Called back later to reschedule was told i needed to find a new dentist because of a broken appt.Explained that it was canceled and ended up getting hung up on,never seen a business like this since Mr.Dermody has passed the office has been very rude and unprofessional.God bless their business. Unprofessional administrative staff. The woman gave me a paper with date and time for my little girls apointment. Upon check in on that date my wife was told apointment was really two days earlier. No apology was given for the mistake. ????Can understand all the bad reviews.

Horrible staff and completely unprofessional! They LIE to you about having called you several times and told me that after my childs dental surgery was canceled (which they failed to contact me about and lied about contacting me) the oral surgent scheduling girl then told me that after a dental surgery is canceled that they get rid of those patients charts after ARGUING with me about having called me several times to notify me WHICH SHE DID NOT DO. Then went in to say "hold on while I pull up your chart." Unbelievable! She then said she'd call me back with abother appointment and failed again to do so. These people do NOT care about your child they only care about their wallets and doing as little as humanly possible to help a child in pain! This office treats & tells you that there little patient's are disposable, and that they are a number only. If you make 1 mistake of missing an appointment you child will never be seen again by their dentist. The office manager allows the lower staff to follow out dismissals of patients, and will not speak with you via phone or in person to discuss any type of discrepancies. They are allowed to make mistakes, but you as a parent it is not acceptable. The quality of work is very questionable since my son had to have 1 filling replaced two different times. Please if you are looking for a long term dentist for you child think twice. We had a wonderful experience with Dr. Chris. My daughter was in braces for almost 2 years and has had a fantastic result! Dr. Chris is methodical, conservative and quietly educates us at every visit. We always felt confident we were in good hands by observing the clean environment, always having our questions answered completely and most especially because we were treated like we were special and important - not like a number. Thank you, Dr. Chris, for Amber's beautiful smile!

The most unprofessional pediatric dentist EVER! Treated us like we were just numbers ¬ people. After my son got his tooth pulled, he said Dr. Dermody grabbed him by the neck and shook him because he wouldn't stop moving! Of course he and his nurse denied it all. Maybe this is why they dont let parents into the room while doing a procedure? Don't bother going into this place. You will regret every second of it. They were so impatient with him and seemed to think he should act and know things like an adult, when he is only 4! They are so unwelcoming even when checking in/out. Horrible horrible horrible!
