The staff at TPMG are very friendly and helpful. From the moment Dr. Dawson first comes into your room. He greats you with a smile and he makes you feel comfortable to talk him. He walked me through the procedure, while making me feel relaxed. I would recommend Dr. Dawson to all my friends

Doctor Dawson was thorough and very informative. Listened and waited for me to ask questions. Great bedside manner. The office staff was nice. TPMG Newport News policy of no grace period even a minute late. We were 4 min late the Monday before and was turned away. I was on time for this appointment and had to wait on doctor for 20 min. Where are my rights as a patient to have my appt on time also. It makes we want to hire a lawyer. Adjust appt. times accordingly if you require us to be there on time. I expect the same. Just because we need a doctor doesn't mean our time isn't valuable also. The policy is stressful on all of staff it was palpable. As of now I will keep going. TPMG in Williamsburg was much more accomodating.

My second RFA on my left Medial Branch nerve. Just as before, after a couple of weeks I started sleeping without waking up and having to reposition due to pain in my lower back. I’m back to getting average 8 hours of sleep per night vice 5-6 hours prior to the RFA. The first one lasted almost a year and I am hoping this one does the same.

I have been going to Dr. Dawson for several areas that I have pain thru out my body. I have felt comfortable from the moment that I started with him he takes the time to learn what you have been going through with pain issues you definitely will not feel rushed once you come to his practice. Thank you again for helping me to build back that quality of life.

The staff and physician (Doctor Dawson) have been nothing less than excellent. They are extremely welcoming and absolute professionals at all times. Their transparent and personable relationships with their patients is unbelievable! I highly recommend this center. An absolute 10/10.

Dr. Dawson and his team are exceptional. Turned happy to glad! Neck pain was truthfully limiting me from work and other activity. Not sure what the issues are since I could not speak with the good doctor but I was referred to him by my internist and after having our records from our NO. Va pain management Doctor sent to him I followed up with a call to schedule an apt and his nurse said he wasn't interested in seeing me as a patient. A first for me. I loved this office when I first started going, I thought I had found the perfect doctor and team to help me with my chronic pain issues from my back, hip and CRP. But that was till I was told by Dr. Dawson I was to complicated to treat and needed to find a new doctor. That surprised the hell out of me as I thought I was quite happy with my treatment even with still having pain. I just couldn’t believe I was being thrown to the side because my health issues that he trained to take care of are just “to complicated”.

Office manager horrible to first time patient, well NOT be back at this office again!

I should have had my second round of testing that isn't even scheduled until past the day of final day of prior authorization. And, I've been left in horrible pain w/o any appointment. I feel like I was sold snake oil????

I have been a migraine sufferer for over 30yrs, after coming and talking with Dr. Dawson about options we landed on MCO. ( medical cannabis oils). We now have 3 dispensaries in our state open to all medical patients. I would highly recommend Columbia Care in Portsmouth. Friendly people, clean and well lit building. I would recommend not only Dr. Dawson to anyone who asked me; but Columbia Care dispensaries. Getting registered with the state is easy and quick. Once your state card comes its a extra 30 minutes for your 1st visits to dispensaries for registering. After that 1st visit its in and out really quick. Dr. Dawson and his staff helped to care for my father and really went the extra mile to manage his pain. They were always available, fitting us in at the last minute when there was a crisis. He coordinated with Dr. McGowan (spinal surgery) to explore other options. Dr. McGowan also took excellent care of us as well. They made a great team. My father ended up having cancer pain, which is very hard to manage. Dr. Dawson would often call personally to check on him and see how he was doing. Their website said he is accepting new patients, so I called to book an appointment. They told me I needed a referral, so I got my doctor to do that the next day. I call the day after that and they said the doctor had to review the referral before they could make the appointment. And of course they are only open half a day on Friday. So Monday I call, and they said the same thing, he hadn't looked at it, and had nothing else to share. Monday night, my knee pain became a bit worse and bothered my sleep so I called again on Tuesday. Got the same exact story, still waiting on the doctor to review. I told them I needed to know something, some kind of idea when we might get an appointment. They said well, even if you had one, he wouldn't be able to see you until December (it's October 20th). What good is that?? If that's the case, you're not really accepting new patients, you're just overbooking. I'm giving up on him.

Dr. Dawson and his Staff are very professional. I have been coming to TPMG/Dr. Dawson for about 2 years now, had my Radio Frequency Ablation procedure last December and have had no major pain. Best doctor! Very professional and positive, informative and smiling bedside manner made me feel at ease. His team at the office went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable and that all my questions were answered.

Dr. Dawson is personable and has a nice sense of humor. He is knowledgeable in his speciality. He describes his diagnosis and treatment plan in an understandable way. The only problem I have ever had is that he's so good It can take awhile to get an appointment (6-10 weeks for a procedure).

Dr. Dawson is a really good Dr. But lately when I come in it's like he's in a rush and It's like he's not getting everything I say my last visit I told him about my muscle spasms and it's like he didn't even acknowledge that i told about them . He use to take the time to listen . I don't know if he was over booked . But I'm still suffering and I really can't afford to come back to see him right now . But I wouldn't have any other Dr. Work on my back hesh the best !!! Thanks for the great care you give me . 2/16/20 I Saw Dr. Dawson on 2/06/20 And he did an RFA on the right side of my back if you don't know what that means it's Radio Frequency Oblation , it Burns the Nerves in my back to relieve the pain . He is the only Dr . I would trust to do that procedure , he comes in the room with a smile and the best greeting to make you feel so comfortable and secure , he talks you through the whole process he even has a joke or two for you ???? he makes you feel safe and secure the whole time and when he is done he shows you the before and after pictures . Wish i could give 4.5 stars! Though a permanent solution to my degenerative disc disease and spinal stenosis has not been found yet. Dr Dawson truly cares about my quality of life and has been trying to reduce or even eliminate my back pain and all that comes with it. He is one if those doctors that actually listens and lets you know your options, and will do what ever he can to help you! Five stars would have meant that the first cortisone epidural would have worked and i would be pain free. Wish i could give 4.5 stars! They helped me a lot with my pain. The process stinks but it’s worth it in the end. The staff is nice and they always try to comfort you and answer your questions. Dr. Dawson is professional and I had good results from him. If you are suffering from back pain I would highly recommend this place.
