I went to Dr Christina P Norlander a few years back as a new patient and let me tell you , it was not only my first visit but also my last. Dr. Norlander is hands down Amazing. She performed an extremely difficult hysdirectomy on me and did an incredible job. My recovery has been swift and painfree. She is direct and no nonsense. I highly recommend.

She keeps you calm and talks to you with care and professionalism.

Rushed my delivery because she was heading to vacation. Went in at 9am for induction had him by 2:45pm. Not fun feeling rushed to have baby and pumped with more drugs to get things going. Lots of cuts and tearing...probably wouldn't have been so bad if I was not rushed and was allowed to stretch more. Still have problems till this day with having a BM. Not fun. Dr. Norlander was the doctor on call during my delivery. It was the worst experience. She was rude, she was impatient with me, and told me I was being too dramatic when I was in excruciating pain. She rushed my labor and had me push on every contraction because she had a c section to get to. I was just another patient and she did not care about me at all. The nurse who was in the room was the one who helped move things along by whispering encouraging words into my ear because Dr. Norlander was being so rude during the entire delivery process. Dr. Norlander is beyond awesome. I love that she is very staight forward. she definitely knows her stuff. she's not one to coddle and stroke your arm. To some, she might come off as rude but she is not. I am also a TBI patient and had concerns about a high risk pregnancy because of siezures, but she says no and I trust her. I definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a strait forward Dr. Dr. Norlander is beyond awesome. She claimed to know how to work with trauma survivors yet she was impatient, pushy, and didn't want to listen to me. My last appointment with her was so horrendous that I won't be returning.

I should of posted this 5 yrs ago when I had my Daughter actually ment to bring Norlander a card.. Ill start with I was a high risk pregnancy complete placenta previa.. I originally went there for Aliwat he dilevered my son but I got her.. Once they discovered the placenta previa she had to discuss with him taking me over.. He didnt want me he said I need to go to a High risk specialty obgyn in Dearborn.. Norlander then told me she felt comfortable taking me and I chose to stay with her.. She called me at home after one of many ultrasounds one day to tell me She Was taking me off work for the rest of my pregnancy very early She is one of those Dr that says no you can work no excuses to but she said Were my placenta was it could rupture easily.. I was admitted almost monthly at 26 weeks started getting contractions.. Noone could figure out why.. I Not being able to exam me.. Just monitors she wanted me to stay in hospital last month I refused as I had sever nausea and vomiting to only gained 6lb.. she said ok didnt make me feel guilty but did say plz just rest at home.. Now fast forward day of csection 37 weeks go to Dearborn the nurse says you dont have a high risk Dr? I said No Norlander made me feel confident she can do it.. They were rude to me then insisted I was gonna need a blood transfusion.. They had my Husband in hallway pacing back and fourth waiting to come in they couldnt get the lines drawn in my wrist for a transfusion.. I was scared crying Dr. Norlander looked at me said your gonna be ok with look of compassion she felt bad for me she stopped them and said enough Im bringing her husband in and Im doing this now.. She delivered my Baby 3 weeks early no issues healthy 6lb 7oz Babygirl.. But it dont end there with Norlanders profession I cried in hospital second night after my back was in major pain could barely move.. They did nothing for me gave me pain meds.. Week later at home still having major back pain could barely lift my newborn hard to breathe go to check up with Norlander.. Tell her about my back she has me lay on my back stretches my arm out and instantly pain was gone.. She just did an over all amazing Job.. 5 1/2 yrs later I still think of my miracle Baby and Thank Dr. Norlander for everything.. Dr Norlander is caring and compassionate. she is very thorough answers all questions in I timely manner.

I had my first labor with Norlander and it ended up C section delivery. The whole pregnancy was fine and I had no issues but my second pregnancy had issues and she was very unreachable and unclear with answers. She made me feel like I had to get C Section for my second child and threatened my with paperwork to sign like it was a bad thing I wanted to deliver VBAC. I delivered VBAC with a different doctor and so happy I switched.

Dec 13th 2012 Norlander preformed A high risk Csection on me... I had complete placenta previa The lead Dr Await recommended me go to Dearborn High risk Dr... Norlander told me its my choice and did not pressure me.. Even the ultra sound Tech asked me why I wasnt going to high risk Dr.... Well Norlander made me comfortable told me my risk but said she could do it and she was confident... well she did and she did an amazing job...

She could be less defensive when politely questioned about diagnosis and care. Additionally she could provide more explanation upfront on how she arrived at her diagnosis.

I have no real issues with Dr. Norlander as a doctor. She was very professional, and incredibly nice and pleasant to speak with. But I thought she fell a little short on a personal level. I understand doctors can't spend a TON of time with their patients, but there were some appointments when she would check my baby's heartbeat, and say see you in two weeks without asking if we had any questions, and we'd have to stop her before she left the room. Just ended up not being for us.
