Chris Alex M Caraang

I was diagnosed with with WPW 11 years ago. I consulted with a cardiologist, took stress tests and medication for this. I was so hopeful of having this resolved. Unfortunately, the cardiologist kept kicking the can around. I would go in to see him with hopes to be referred to a specialist who could perform this procedure. For some reason he made it difficult. It’s as though he didn’t intend on ever sending me in. Why? I’m still puzzled. I quit consulting with him then. Last year, I felt my body changing and the palpitations started to kick up again unlike ever before. I decided to take a shot at consulting with a new cardiologist in hopes of resolution this year. As quick as I went in to see Dr. Caraang, is as quick as I was sent in for surgery. He referred me to a specialist after testing concluded I needed this corrective surgery to live out a normal life. Thank you Dr. Caraang and team for your passion in your profession and contributing to LV in such a positive way.

Did not address my concerns about taking certain invasive test; did not respond to requested phone call or pre-procedure meeting which translates to little or no regard for me as a patient. Never explained procedure or definitive reason for procedure. Met with him for approx. 15 minutes for pre medical release for hip surgery, and here it is almost 3 months later and I still do not have a date for surgery because I cannot get a date w/out medical release from him!!

Dr. Caraang is the best Cardiologist I've EVER been to see. He changed my medication significantly, and I've achieved cholesterol, Triglyceride, HDL, and more, numbers I never thought possible with my genetic family history. He's kind, attentive, up to date with his knowledge, and gives you all the time you need for questions. As for his nurse Shirley, I don't understand the complaints that I see. She's busy all day, but always returns calls late in the day or early evening.

He seemed to be unable to diagnose a heart valve problem. He announced all my heart valves were leaking due to high blood pressure but he said it was no problem. He wanted to double the dose of my statin without even knowing what my cholesterol reading was. He said everything was perfect on my hospital chart despite the fact it said "Abnormal ECG" and mentioned other problems.

His office staff is terrible. His nurse (Shirley) is the worst. She doesn't return calls. Very frustrating office staff.

I like Dr Caraang a lot. He has a very good bedside manor. And he takes time to answer my questions. So, on that point I would give him 5 stars. I am giving 3 stars because his nurse/assistant does not return my calls when I call in. She does not seem to understand my questions when I do speak with her. Today is late Wednesday afternoon and I need a refill for my prescription, I called Monday, left a message and I called early this morning, still no call back. I wonder if Dr. Caraang is aware of this. And of course when I call and ask to speak directly to the Dr he never calls me back.

Most amazing physician! Spent all the time in the world and was well prepared before entering the room. Provided his card and invited a call any time. Not taken advantage of the invitation but great to know it’s welcome. Great man!

I went to him for a second opinion and ended up leaving my other Doctor.
