Dr. Chitra Asher

I had gone to Dr. Asher to see was there an infection after a tooth was pulled,and still needed another pulled,In 2017. She perscribed only a few days of antibiotic,said she didnt think was any infection. Had to pay out of pocket,to see my Dentist,was in fact an infection in my roots under the tooth pulled/ and under the one which needed pulled. My Dentist perscribed the necessary antibiotics to get rid of the infection.The medicaid dentist/ insisted could be no infection as well,They Were Wrong

For all healthcare workers who need titers, or pre work screenings- do not go there. Also don't go there if you don't wnat to have to drive back to get your results. I hate leaving 1 star reviews but this doctor doesn't know basic. BASIC medical tests. She didn't know what the blood test for tuberculosis is. She literally argued with my wife who is a doctor, that there was no such thing. It's called Quantiferon Gold. Anyone, from any other country who has had a hepatitus vaccine, requires that test to work in a hospital. A chest X-ray is not sufficient. a regular TB skin test will show positive. She also didn't know what a hepatitus B titer test was. She instead drew blood for IGG which just indicates whether you have an adequate immune system level. She also drew the aHBc IGm which tells if you have a short term hep B infection. What the heck? What we needed was the titer, which is what we asked for. The titer tells you if you're immune to Hep B which is what you need to prove to your clinical instructor. together we've gone to maybe 8 doctors.. never ever had this issue. We asked for a titer, got a titer. They also refused to Email, Mail, or fax our results. We had to drive 30 minutes back there. which we had to do three times. "oh sorry we still don't have that test tube" "come back later for your results". She also didn't know how to palpate organs. Sorry if you have cancer or any other issues. You'll just die. because she won't notice it. she pushed very gently, not hard enough to properly palpate organs. trust me on this. this is very basic simple medicine. She did not listen to my concerns and seemed annoyed when I asked her to explain different physical ailmaents like why I had blood in my urine.

I really do love Dr. Asher as a doctor. She listens to me, she gives great advice and is super friendly and always has a smile. It is her reception staff that made me leave and find a new doctor and the wait time. When a patient makes an appointment they should be seen in 15 minutes or less. Over an hour wait in the lobby is ridiculous. To have a receptionist on the phone with her husband giggling is unacceptable and unprofessional.

Just found out Dr. Asher has retired. It came as a surprise, having just seen her last month. She was my primary physician for many years and she is great doctor. Good luck and much happiness.
