My 1st visit was about 30 minutes ago and I could not wait to write this review. The front desk staff was so accommodating, when I was unable to write due to numbness and pain in my fingers they helped me fill out some forms without question.The nurse was very engaging and sympathetic to my symptoms and the doctor was straightforward which made me feel that he would not BS me.All in all im extremely happy with this team. This man is rude and has no bed side manner

Very rude and inconsiderate.

I saw Dr. Rothschild in November after getting a MRI of my lower back. He said everything was fine on the MRI. Fine or not, he never addressed the pain I was in. About a month later I get a call from my family doctor. They tell me the have reviewed the MRI reports that I had back in November and they tell me there is a problem. They refer me to a different Nerusurgeon who tells me I need spinal fusion surgery. I saw Dr. Rothschild in November after getting a MRI of my lower back. He said everything was fine on the MRI. Dr. Rothschild is so compassionate and kind! He performed spinal surgery on me after a horrible car accident. He saved my life and I will be forever thankful! ❤️

His staff is very helpful and friendly. Terri and Christina are awesome and went above and beyond standards of cattle in helping me! Dr Rothschild explained every question I've had, gave me options and took his time before surgery and while I was in the hospital to ensure I was comfortable and being taken care of.

I'm very unhappy with my visit. He didn't listen to problems I was having post surgery and I felt like he was in a hurry

My mom had emergency spinal surgery. Unfortunately she ended up with Dr Rothschild. He became irrate with the hospital because another Dr chose to keep her an extra day. Despite multiple requests to speak with him on her condition, recovery and concerns, we never got a call back. She's elderly, has multiple health issues and lives alone. She was released the next day with no home health aide, nurse, OT, or assistance. She is in pain, can't cook for herself, wash herself and is having a hard time moving around. We arrived to help but we are not trained OT or LPNs. There was no follow up. Only she has to schedule in a week. She needs assistance now. My mom had emergency spinal surgery. Staff was wonderful, answered my questions completely. Carmen gave me the option to call her with any concerns or questions I came up with later. Dr Rothschild was very willing to explain in detail the test results and go over my options with me. Thank you!!

My husband has seen Dr. Rothschild for two surgeries and follow up appointments. We were very please with every aspect of his care. He is a good surgeon and concerned physician. His staff is also friendly, caring and efficient. We had the same experience when he treated our daughter several years ago.

As a new patient I was impressed by how quickly I was seen. I had less than a 10 minute wait, and that included signing in and giving insurance information. Very professional and personable staff.

I had a procedure done on my lower back for a herniated disk that stimmed from an MVA in 2017. Dr ROTHSCHILD has done an amazing job and the operation was a true success I would recommend him if you have any neurological needs. He is very skilled and attentive to all the questions I had also the care and treatment after the surgery. The staff at First Coast Neurosurgery were very helpful and professional I caint thank them enough for putting me on the road to recovery and a better life without excruciating pain.

Excellent Customer Service!

No nonsense surgeon that wants to get to the root of the problem and take care of his patients needs. He is very thorough and wants to do the right thing for me. I appreciate the willingness to get me in to see him for the initial contact in days where the vast number of surgeons, you must wait 3-5 weeks to have a initial visit. His willingness to help with the intensity of pain I am immediately!is something none of the surgeons office I spoke to were initially concerned with and most would cut me off before I finished my story. Dr. Rothschild office was different. The initial call I made, Christina answered and sounded generally concerned and put me on hold and generally had me in to see the doctor in just a few days. After meeting with Dr Rothschild, Terri his assistant met my wife and I and thoroughly explained the process and was very empathetic to my needs and concerns. Very well balanced office and Dr Rothschild I trust to assist me to get back to my normal life.

Dr. Rothschild is an exceptional doctor. He was very kind and informative. He put my fears at ease and helped me make the right decision. I walked out of his office in good spirits knowing I was in good hands. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to see me.

Dr. Rothschild and Staff made me feel comfortable and welcome. The Professionalism and Quick service was a pleasant change. Dr. Rothschild took time to explain my injury in understandable language. I felt completely informed when I left. His recommendations were on the money. I would surely return if any problems reoccur.

Dr. Rothschild is by far in my opinion..the Best Neurosurgeon on the planet. He is the only one I have had..but that changes nothing. He is well recognized by his peers and you will be able to tell once he is your surgeon. His staff is incredible..from beginning to end I was in the best of care. There are more neurosurgeons here in Florida..but not one better and thats a professional verdict. Dr. Rothschild is truly Amazing..with an amazing staff. He changed the quality of my life. Was not competent enough to write down in the notes what he told me as the patient apparently this is way too much to ask. Exremely near sighted in how the VA and Tricare work. Not recommended for anyone that needs to continue treatment. Only interested in ordering more tests. Once again failed by yet another doctor in this area

I met Dr Rothschild in May of 2016. I am 60 years old, 6'6" and at the time weighed in at 441 lbs...The Dr looked over my lumbar MRI and suggested corrective surgery but cautioned me that my weight would prevent the full success of the surgery...I had the surgery June 12th and June 13th started my high protein low carb diet suggested by Dr Rothschild...I am now at an almost fit 290 with a goal of 250...and although you might not appreciate his candor when he tells you you need to lose the lbs to get healthy again know he has your best intrest at heart...I credit this fine Dr with my continued ability to work... Dr. Rothschild had operated on me for the first time over 10 years ago, i had an emergency laminectomy discectomy. He was amazing. I live in South Florida and had excruciating pain and was bed ridden in 2012. After multiple Dr appointments with every single neurosurgeon in South Florida who kept telling me that they couldn't see anything wrong. I overnighted my MRI and report to him. He informed me that they were morons that could not see a complete collapse in L4, L5 and my S1 was almost severed. He did immediate surgery ( now mind you I traveled 4 hours to have this surgery done). I had to have emergency fusion. and Titanium spacers put in. Bedside manner is lacking, pray to God that u don't have papertape around ur surgery site cause he is rough ripping it off after a few days of that u will be raw.. make sure when u talk with him about surgery he does complete surgery cause mine was left incomplete and I'm having a second surgery that's in needed.. 800000 dollar bill for incomplete surgery

Unfortunately this provider was one of the worst I have ever seen. A little back ground on what happened, I was in an aircraft accident in the military, and had a few car accidents in February of last year. I went to get a opinion by Dr.Rothschild, on our way in i see a guy smoking outside the back door in scrubs( I am sure they have designed smoking areas.) With some of those very large coke bottle style glasses. We get inside in a room and in walks Dr.Rothschild without his glasses he had on to smoke a cigarette!(red flag goes off in my mind immediately) next week pop in the disc of my MRI's he glances at them and I quote "your spine is beautiful" at this time I express then why can't I feel my left foot, shooting pain in my upper back/mid back into my lower back and legs, down both arms as well as migraines. On top of being on three diffrent pain meds and nerve meds? At this point I start getting the feeling that I am being treated as if I am full of BS.. so despite the fact that I had nerve conduction studys showing pinched nerves in my C and L spine, 8 mri's showing 12 bulging disc (of basically head to knees), CT's showed the same discs.. where all dismissed. I immediately got a second opinion and within a month I had my first surgery by one of the top nerosurgon's in Florida, with some of the most advanced techniques and the most cutting edge technology.. I am so thankful I went to a much more qualified individual that is an absolute artists at his profession. That also keeps up with technology that improves PT outcomes and reduced healing times.. in turn improves quality of life and health care.. I would never recommend this Dr. to anyone. He was very rude and unprofessional. Maybe he paid for these reviews. I would not even let him treat my pet. Did not explain my problem to me. Just said he wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole........

Dr. Rothschild is the best neurosurgeon in NE Florida. I needed a 4 level spinal fusion, which is no easy surgery, by 3 months post-op I had no more back pain. I wouldn't let anyone else operate on me or my family. He truly cares about his patients and is passionate about his job.

Dr. Rothschild provide great direction and follow up treatment advise for my injury.

Dr Rothschild evaluated my MRI and reassured me that I did not need surgery. Listened to my concerns. Dr Rothschild has treated several of my own family members which have had great outcomes I'm glad my pcp sent me to see him.

This man (he is NOT a proper doctor) is a JOKE and a DISGRACE to the medical community. HE is BEYOND RUDE. If he did his job and was successful in actually HELPING people I would overlook his rudeness. But he doesn't even have THAT going for him!! HE IS HORRIBLE AND A MONSTER! STAY AWAY FROM HIM. Dr. Rothschild drilled me on weather I wanted surgery or not…over and over again until I began to cry. I asked if I had surgery if it would relieve my pain only to get a shrug of his shoulders and him saying he didn’t know, but maybe would strengthen my legs. Then he began drilling me again asking me “well do you want surgery or not”. I found Dr. Rothschild to be an arrogant pompous self-centered jerk. STAY AWAY!! Dr. Rothschild is a bully & butcher! I walked in the hospital the day of my surgery but rolled out 2 weeks later paralyzed! My drop foot on my right went away, but now my left side leg is dead. He assured me that my biggest risk was infection, which I got after my staples came out and my cut opened up. He told me to rest, but kept coming in my room to yell at me to stop laying around and get up and lose weight. I asked for help, he just said "NO"!!! "NO" was his answer for everything

Spent 10 minutes with my husband anx I during a new patient to appt. Very rude and would not let my husband explain what he was experiencing. He looked at the mri and said no surgery. Immediately stood up and asked do you have any questions? However, he did not even let us finish a question before cutting us off and saying I don't know ask your primary doctor. Awful visit. And we drove an hour and a half to see him. I will be reporting this visit to our insurance company.

Did a surgery in Orange Park hospital in April tumor and fractured disc's. Went extremely well and now getting ready to do tumor in spine - he will stabilize the spine. He See's problem and is ready to his part to correct right away. Unlike some doctors who want you to keep coming back appt after appt.. Appreciate that he is honest and tells it like it is.
