I came to Dr. Schwimer quite unexpectedly. I was laid off from my job, and my insurance was going to run out at the end of the month. My dentist said I needed to see a periodontist. I was able to get an appointment the next day. Not only did I have periodontal disease, I had a tooth that needed to be pulled. He pulled the tooth, and placed an implant in. I was sent to this man to get an implant he took an x-ray and see that my bone and my jaw will not hold the implant but instead of adding or grafting bone to it he drilled it anyways and tried to fit in the implant and it was loose when I left the office Andy charged me $4,600 and got me approved for another credit card Care Credit and build them $1,000 so I have to pay all that back but I'm fighting it now because he should have never ever tried to put that implant in before the bone graft any sensible dentist would have what did the bone graft first it doesn't make sense unless he just wanted the money which is what it seems I was sent to this man to get an implant he took an x-ray and see that my bone and my jaw will not hold the implant but instead of adding or grafting bone to it he drilled it anyways and tried to fit in the implant and it was loose when I … More

The service itself was fine, but their ethics are deplorable. If you do schedule with them, I would recommend insisting on a Predetermination of Benefits to avoid being fleeced. For background, they assured me that they took my insurance and even called in advance for an estimate. I was then billed roughly $1,000 more than the estimated $700 for a 20 minute scaling. The office tried to deflect and blame my insurance, but the real problem is that they're out of network for ALL dental plan providers, and never felt it was appropriate to explain that (even after I specifically asked if they took my insurance). I worked with Health Advocate to figure out why I had received an outrageous bill and attempt to negotiate a more reasonable charge, but they outright refused. Shame on them and their shady business practices. The service itself was fine, but their ethics are deplorable. I've been going for periodontal cleanings a couple times a year. The hygienist Jane is excellent - she's the reason I go there - and the office workers are all very nice. Dr Schwimer barely looks in my mouth and charges for evaluations. He no longer accepts insurance of any kind but doesn't tell existing patients until they receive the bill, so it's especially out of line when he recently spent 5 seconds looking at my gums for $90 "comprehensive evaluation" and $180 cleaning. Everyone in the office is so so nice and personable! The doctor is always on time and the staff makes you feel very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this office for any dental needs.

I came in to see Dr Schwimer regarding an implant that everyone else was afraid to attempt to place. He took the time to explain to me how the process works and we set forward. My dentist looked at it and was amazed at the level of work that done. I went back for a wisdom tooth issue as well and again, it was resolved. I do not like going to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned, let alone having to see a specialist! Dr. Schwimer, Shelia, Veronica, and Jane are by far the BEST of the BEST and I highly recommend him for periodontal care and dental implants. Staff is VERY friendly and ALWAYS makes me feel COMFORTABLE! I open the door for an appointment, and the first thing I see are smiling faces. Veronica is very prompt at returning phone calls, helpful and friendly! Jen assisted Dr. Schwimer during my procedure and made me feel relaxed and comfortable the entire time while answering all of my ridiculous questions! I had first gone to Dr. Schwimer on the advice of my orthodontist who said that before he could help me with my orthodontic work, I had to first have several gum grafs done. Needless to say, I was not very happy about that but really wanting to have my teeth straightened, I relented and made my one of many visits to Dr. Schwimer. Dr. Schwimer helped me understand that the health of my gums was vital to the health of my teeth. I had to have four gum grafs before actually being able to get to the orthodontic work , but with the guidance and expertise of Dr. Schwimer we worked through that process. I got my braces on, and have now finished with the orthodontic work, which was my primary goal. I have continued to see Dr. Schwimer for regular cleanings and to continue with other graf work. My goal is to keep the teeth that God gave me for my lifetime, and I now realize that that is a very real possibility. I have been a patient of periodontist Dr. Charles Schwimer for several decades. During that time he has performed scaling and root planning and a gum graft, as well as surgically placing six dental implants. The technique for inserting implants has changed over the years, a testament to Dr. Schwimer's professionalism and passion to improve and stay current in his field by participating in ongoing education. I have had no issues with my procedures. My implants are very natural looking and function even better than my natural teeth. Dr. Schwimer highlights each procedure before performing it so I understand what to expect and have the opportunity to ask any questions. His explanations are easier to understand because of his digital imaging and intraoral photography displayed on his computer. For example, he explained the socket shield procedure for my most recent implants. He explained this procedure leaves part of the root before placing the implant to prevent bone loss following tooth extraction and immediate implantation. He is known nationally and internationally in his field, especially for implementing new dental implant techniques. He is a perfectionist, as is evidenced by his careful attention to every detail. In closing, Dr. Schwimer's office staff is exceptional and very pleasant. I am greeted as soon as I enter the office, and wait time is minimal. The office secretary/manager Janice is very competent and pleasant as is Sheila, the doctor's assistant. Both the doctor and Sheila are concerned about your comfort during any procedure. I will rate Dr. Charles W. Schwimer very high. He is awesome, not only just him all his nurses who do the cleaning are one of the best you can ever get. Let me explain this in detail. We (Me and My Wife) had some gum issues and my gums used to bleed a lot, we had 2 surgeries for all four quadrants twice, there was no benefit, nothing much changed, and I got so frustrated and disappointed that I gave up. Then I went to another dentist who referred me to Dr. Charles W. Schwimer, this changed everything for us. He did surgery on us but unlink the previous periodontist his surgery was way more efficient. We both saw complete stop on our bleeding. In addition, he is a nice gentlemen who is very kind and polite during the procedure and also patient, as I can tell you my surgery was not easy for him but he was patient. In addition, I also like to appreciate the nurses, I now go to his office every 3 months for cleaning and have interacted with almost all of the nurses they are very thorough in their work. A patient for 25 years. Have had several periodontal procedures performed by Dr. Schwimer ranging from periodontal maintenance, gum grafts to implants. Dr. Schwimer uses the most advanced technology, explains every procedure and insures your comfort. The staff is warm, welcoming and professional. Office staff will tell you he is a participating provider but after the exam you are presented with a big bill - they will tell you that your insurance will reimburse you but they will not pay.
