Dr. Charles Edward Raftery

I am a new patient 11/2022 from back injury from work. I was referred by my treating chiropractor.Dr Raftery appearance is smooth and quiet. But i was surprised by his great sense of humor and the down to earth approach to me. I had 3 steroid shots in my back. I was very afraid and had heard bad stories. However, i shared my concerns with him. He listened and made me feel they where untrue story and made me laugh, my injections from him where great. Even though i continue with back pain. Dr Raftery is a fine doctor and i would refer anyone to him.. folks have complained of short time spent on exams. But he is a professional who knows what he is doing!! So waste of time to spend a hour with each patient. If you need that, go See Dr Phil.. back pain is NO Joke you want the best go see Dr. Charles RAFTERY. In Middlebury ct. He will be doing my back surgery.. i put my back in his hands.. the front desks ladies are the kindness and supportive people. Even on the phone. They never put u on hold or ignore or rude..NEVER, no matter when i called them.. please give him a try.. when u are in back pain.. u need the best.. !! I am not kidding..Call Dr Raftery office. Update 3/28/2023.. Dr Raftery did back surgery on me. It was scary. Results are still out due to recovery has been painful.

I love Dr Raftery. He performed neck surgery. I had only the normal necessary post op pain, very narrow stitch line, no infection no unnecessary bleeding and he communicated with my husband right after the surgery. His PA is just as wonderful, she listened to my needs and communicated in a professional caring manner. Love the overall practice if you need surgery, might as well have the best! I have a lot of problems with my back. Went to see Dr Rafferty he was very patient listen to me Then suggested what should be done.. Decide cortisone shots so far there working..plus he has a sense of humour.Higly reccomend himh

Marvelous, caring. Funny , great bedside manner. Gave me a cortisone shot that helped alot with my lower back problems. Couldn't help with my balance problem but neither could 4 neurologist in Ct. Best hospitals. But he is still trying. So thankful I found this wonderful Dr.

I have had 2 treatments by injection by Dr. Raftery. Both were pain free and successful. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Raftery is wonderful. I have been pain free for several years now. I never thought I would be able to say that! Would recommend him to anyone who has back problems.

Dr Raftery is extremely professional and kind. His staff is helpful and supportive. I recommend him without hesitation.

Dr. Charles Raftery is an awesome doctor with awesome bed side manners. I had a decompression surgery in October 2018 by a different doctor that left me worse off than before the surgery. Today March 2019 Dr. Raftery went and did a second surgery for me and I feel a lot better so far. I have a big phobia of doctors and was really nervous to have this second surgery but Dr. Raftery definitely made me feel a lot easier about going through the procedure. Never even made an appointment. Talked to the receptionist and she was totally unprofessional. I had better treatment at my dogs veterinarian. I felt if the first person I talked to was this bad, how could I possibly trust the doctor. No thanks - steer clear.

Dr. Raftery is the best! He’s always given me all my options and always helped me. I wouldn’t trust any other doctor with my back. He’s a wonderful doctor!

I went to Dr Raftery for shooting pains down my leg and numbness in my foot which I thought might be due to knee surgery. He diagnosed and treated me for spinal stenosis. I haven't had a problem since. I also liked that he took the time to clearly explain the problem I was having. I highly recommend this excellent doctor.

I will say that I am a difficult case. Dr. Raftery has been doing everything to help my pain. He did one surgery and that helped one issue but I have other issues that he is helping me resolve. I HADMY SURGUERY IN JULY 17,2017. IT HAS BEEN A WEEK AND I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER. I HAD A NECK FUSION TWO DISKS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND BONE SPURS. MY ONLY REGRET IS THAT I WISH I HADNT WAITED SO LONG TO DO THE SURGERY WITH DR RAFTERY AND WOULD HAVE CHOOSEN TO DO IT SONNER. HE IS A EXCELLENT SURGEON. TH EPAIN IN MY HANDS AND BACK ARE GONE. Gave me one shot that didn't help and refused to make a call to my insurance company to tell them I needed another shot. . Referred me to someone else

Dr Rafferty had a chance to fix my mom's back nine weeks earlier but instead he messed up the paperwork to have a scan three times sending her back and forth for test (including going on vacatio) knowing her pain until the fourth time which was too late her pain was unbearable her body became to weak and she got an ulcer from the suffering causing her to become septic and causing of a stoke and heart failure from shock of the pain. Pleasantly surprised, a surgeon willing to talk to us not pushing surgery at all, but explaining, patiently, having examined x-rays taken elsewhere before seeing me, explained options clearly, answered multiple questions.

Dr.Rafftery is a great doctor after 4 months of trying everything to avoid surgery he was recommended by my doctor. He could see I was in pain and did everything to find me a solution.I had back surgery and walked out of hospital the same day! Was back to work in less than 6 weeks. Awesome Doctor!!

This poor excuse for a doctor treated me with disrespect and totally misdiagnosed me with a condition I don't have. Because of Raftery, I am going to need further spine surgery. He either didn't look at my MRI or the report or he did and was too bothered to try and fix the mistake he made. After a surgery he performed on me a few months ago to remove a screw he first installed that came loose, I returned to him saying I was still in pain. He laughed in my face and pawned me off on another doctor

I gave the doctor another try and I am glad I did. He gave me a shot in my back and it helped so much. I had trouble walking now I don't
