Dr. Ogburn is a superb surgeon who takes a true interest in his patients

I feel very lucky to have Dr Ogburn repair by broken patella after an accident. He was able to put the four pieces back together so the bones touched and grew together. Thanks to him I am up and walking again. I ask a lot of questions but the majority of my issues were explained before they were spoken with additional information I needed to know. Am so grateful Dr Ogburn was there for me and my family. Please note too his office staff is excellent from the greeting, on to X-ray, placed in examination room and to checkout all are caring and helpful. Thank you

I have received expert care at AOC for a traumatic elbow fracture. During recovery I was always able to contact staff with questions and get appointments for checks regarding concerns with my recovery. My fracture was very rare and quite difficult to repair. I have learned that some surgeons would not feel confident in how to approach this type of fracture. Athens is fortunate to have such qualified surgeons and medical staff.

Dr. Ogburn put my pelvis back together and made it possible for me to walk again. He is very skilled and cares deeply about his patients. I recommend him highly!

I had a very bad accident and fell and broke my left ankle in 5 different places. Dr. Ogburn is hands down the most caring doctor. My surgery was a success!! I really loved how my doctor took the time to explain to me about my procedure I was getting done . He was the best I would recommend him to anyone ????????????????

Dr. Ogburn is amazing! I am so thankful for him making sure after three trips to the ER, that the third trip would be my last time, for the correct placement of my tibia. I am not sure what Dr. Ogburn said to them but I heard a nurse say, "Dr. Ogburn said, we have to get it right this time or he is coming here to do it himself" and so they got it right on the third try. I was then out of extreme pain and could let the swelling go down and proceed with having my ankle surgery. My surgery went well and I had no problems, his nurse was great at always getting back with me about any questions. My follow up appointments went well. Dr Ogburn is an excellent surgeon. I broken my ankle in four places and he has been very instrumental in putting it back together. He is very kind and I highly recommend him.

Dr. Ogburn performed surgery on my shoulder following a cycling accident. I had fractures to my collarbone and scapula and did a marvelous job with the repair. After 12 weeks the bones knitted back together and I was fully released. Dr. Ogburn’s surgical skill are phenomenal, but what sets him apart are his bedside manner and follow-up visits. Dr. Ogburn is extremely knowledgeable of orthopedics. And, if you have to have surgery, Dr. Ogburn is the one to do it. My recovery was fast with minimal pain. I highly recommend Dr. Ogburn.

Excellent from day 1 till last visit

Dr. Ogburn is great!! I had the BEST experience with him as my surgeon. Very attentive to my problems and concerns. He did my surgery asap and my scars look great.

Entering this review on behalf of my 80 year old aunt. After 8 months of constant pain from emergency surgery performed by another orthopedic for a broken femur, she went to Dr. Ogburn for a second opinion. After x-rays, he confirmed, as we all suspected, that the screw was entirely too large and needed to be replaced. He performed the outpatient surgery, and my aunt has finally been without that constant pain. He is a wonderful doctor and extremely compassionate.

The surgeons are too notch and the after care is great. They want to help you and the staff is very helpful! If I ever need another surgery I know where I want to go!

The office staff are always friendly and efficient. The nurse and technicians are great as well. Dr Ogburn always is very friendly and explains everything so that I can understand. They keep the appointments on schedule as well.

I fell and broke both lower bones in my left leg in April, right after the Coronavirus quarantine went into effect. As an elderly woman, I was afraid of both slow healing and contracting the virus. Dr. Ogburn and all of the Athens Orthopedic staff were outstanding in addressing my problems. I got the bones quickly and proficiently pinned and plated and received excellent treatment and support in an office and hospital atmosphere of careful protection against the virus. Dr Chip Ogburn is a super nice man and very straight up and communicates very well what’s going on! He knows what he is doing. Excellent Surgeon!! I was hit by a car on 1/2/20. I ended up with an infection in my leg where I had a compound fracture. They sent me to Augusta where they had to remove 2 inches of bone from my leg. After about a month, they sent me to see Dr. Ogburn. Over 3 surgeries, he started the process of growing my bone back and then inserted a rod. Because of his knowledge and hard work he has saved my leg. I trust him fully and would recommend him to everyone. I was hit by a car on 1/2/20. He did a great job with my surgery and I’m making great progress. He’s not only a great surgeon but has been available to answer all my questions about what to expect next as well as being an all around good human with care and compassion for his patients. Dr. Ogburn is a very skilled orthopedic trauma surgeon. He was able to schedule my surgery quickly and did a great job at repairing my ankle dislocation and fracture! He has a personable demeanor and made sure to thoroughly explain the procedure and healing process and was happy to answer all my questions.

Dr. Ogburn is AWESOME and very sweet. I had a very bad wrist accident where I had fractured my Distal Radius. He is very skilled and knows what he is doing. It has been a LONG 6 months of recovery, but he has been amazing through my whole journey of 3 months of casts and 3 months of hand therapy. I would definitely recommend Dr. Ogburn to anyone. He is very encouraging especially when I was bummed that I had to have a 3rd cast. He did warn me that my healing process would be long, but given my age and how much I move my wrist, it wouldn't take long to heal and he was right. Dr Ogburn took me on as a trauma patient after my knee surgery with Dr Mahoney and the tendon shredded in my knee and I fell and broke my ankle in both places. One side of the ankle had healed however after two months the outside of the ankle is infected and will not heal. Dr Ogburn has been very good about trying things and worked extremely well with my home health care. Yesterday he told me that the ankle needs to have the hard well removed the bone has knitted well but the infection is still on the skin and probably on the hardware. Dr Ogburn has me scheduled for surgery four days after I saw him. He is an excellent surgeon speaks very clearly and explains things very well. I highly recommend him.

The visit went very well. The wait was short, the COVID19 protocols in place. I was satisfied with my time with Dr. Ogburn.

My family and I experianced the most uncomfortable, hostile, and unprofessional experience of our lives with Dr. Chip Ogburn. My father broke his knee and came to urgent care Orthopedic for a check up. Dr. Ogburn came in to let us know that everything was healing good and when he asked if we had any concerns my father told him that where he broke his knee, there are a lot of ticks in that area. He said that there is a pinch and an itch in one place under the cast and asked if we could check for a tick and Dr. Ogburn lost his mind and yelled "I guess we'll have to take the cast off and put on a new one on!!" he then stormed out of the room, and went down the hall yelling to the nurse "Jesus Christ, Mr. Martinez wants us to remove the cast to check for a tick." When the cast was removed and there was no tick, he told my dad "See, no tick, so don't be hiking in the woods when you leave here" (I assume that was sarcasm since my father has a broken knee) he then walked up the hall again yelling "We're good, no tick! There's no tick!" I don't know why he was being so rude and hostile. We never said or did anything back that was rude because it was just so uncomfortable and did not know what to expect. Do not use Dr. Ogburn if you do not want to be disrespected or harassed while looking for treatment. I can’t say enough about the care I received at Athens Orthopedic. Dr Ogburn is an excellent surgeon and I appreciate the time he took both before and after surgery to answer my questions. I am grateful for this practice.

I had a freak accident in November of 2019 and broke my femur, aka thigh bone. I chose my hospital when the ambulance arrived, but not my surgeon. I meet Dr. Ogburn of AOC 10 hours after my accident. Still not knowing anything about my break I had to trust him. He did the surgery 2 hours later and has followed up with me since. I am 7 weeks out from my life changing break and can walk again with aid of a cane. I can't say enouhh about how good of a job Dr. Ogburn did and how helpful the staff at Athens Orthopedic Clinic is. They made a traumatic accident bearable. I highly recommend Athens Orthopedic Clinic for all orthopedic needs they know what they are doing and they treat you well. Dr Ogburn performed my surgery on a broken distal humerus arm injury sustained from a fall. I did not know what to expect from my recovery following surgery. I’m very pleased with how fast the healing process has taken and my prognosis is good. Dr Ogburn checked off all the boxes that a physician should in patient care. I definitely would recommend his services to anyone.

Dr. Ogburn performed ankle surgery on both my ankles. I was recently in a car accident and both my ankles were broken; my right ankle was an open fracture to the talis bone. It’s been a little over 9 weeks and my ankles are healing well. It’s gonna take a little longer for my right foot but active and progressive therapy has helped improve my ROM.

Dr. Ogburn is, hands down, the best trauma and orthopedic surgeon in the area. With surgical precision, incredible bedside manner, the desire to create a personalized recovery plan, and ability to provide long-term care, I wouldn't recommend any other orthopedic doctor.
