Dr. Charles William Murphy

There was no visit. I called the office twice and never got a call back.

I have seen Dr Murphy for years, he is one of the best pain management doctors in the state of Texas. He is busy and sometimes he can be running late, but it is because he will not rush a patient or procedure. If you have the ability to see him, you will not be disappointed.

Love Dr. Murphy and his staff. Have been going to him for chronic pain for 10 years. Always listens and responds to your concerns. Staff are A-1 ! New Braunfels location is not as up to date as his San Antonio location. Suggest you go there.

I was referred to Dr. Murphy by my spine surgeon (Dr. Joshi of South Texas Spine) after I had a reaction to the pain meds. Dr. Murphy listened to me, and we did 3 rounds of Epidural Steroid Injections which did me better in the long run than any narcotics. I was with him from April to end of August 2019. His nurse anesthetist is Top Drawer, having 30 years of service in the US Navy. I'd go back and see him and his staff anytime.

I saw dr Murphy for years. I have some really terrible problems and he did a good job handling them. Then i tore my bicep tendon completely loose from my forearm. It was incredibly painful. I quickly saw an orthopedic surgeon and was scheduled for immediate surgery. I informed the surgeon about dr murphy and my pain meds. He said it would be fine and prescribed post op meds. At my next visit Murphys assistants dropped me as a patient because of the meds the surgron provided. Murphy. Chicken.

I have been on a quest to find relief without the use of medications for over two years. I have suffered for most of it. I was miserable before I received my injections and considering the fact that it may be the end of my life. I can now live a somewhat normal life. Thank you Dr. Murphy! You save lives my friend.

Beware of exorbitant urine drug screening test.....the lab they used sent BC/BS a bill for $5400. for this test (which was reduced by BC/BS to $2700). And patient is expected to pay over $500. Unethical to do this without informing patient of cost. A drug screening test can be performed for much lower cost. So it makes you wonder what the relationship is between the lab and doctor's practice. Tried to call office to discuss this, but after several calls there has been no return call.

The only redeeming thing I can say is that the PA, Nancy, is great. The absolute worst thing about this office is the refill situation. Trying to get a call returned is a nightmare. I had issues more than once with the RX sent to the pharmacy not being the same as what was discussed during my visit. The final straw was when my mail order pharmacy tried to reach them twice because the RX for my Tylenol 4 was not written correctly. They never returned their call either, So, the RX was cancelled.

I do not recommend Dr. Murphy. 3 times help could not give me an iv. 2 of these dates I fainted.3rd time this week anesthesiologist could not do my iv, placed blood pressure clamp on upper arm as tight as she could while she attempted to get iv needle in, failed but said I will try to keep pushing it in more & more even though acknowledged she collapsed the vein. Fainted & threw up for many hrs. Pure torture & abuse. They are for pain management & they caused me terrible pain. Not going back.

He is your average 3 minute appointment that does not get to know his patients or their medical history and makes assumptions about people. Sincerely one of the worst experiences of my life. He is rude abrupt and was falling asleep during my appointment. When I asked him if I was boring him after his multiple yawns he became enraged barked some commands at me and told me not to come back until I did what he said. 5 1/2 weeks to get an appt. for this??
