If you are a 'Medicare' patient, RUN don't Walk from this physician! My first 15 minute visit in July 2019 with Dr. McDonald was to schedule a chest x-ray and pulmonary function test at Sutter Health for COPD/Emphysema. (My previous pulmonary test was 5 years before.) A second 10 minute visit with Dr. McDonald was scheduled August to discuss the results. There was no change in my current medication. I was billed 3 separate invoices totaling $1,146 which I paid immediately. I 'assumed' I would be reimbursed through Medicare. I soon discovered that the 3 invoices had not been submitted to Medicare! Following my call to the billing office in October, 2 of the 3 invoices were submitted to Medicare. McDonald's office was not only paid my me, he also received payment from Medicare. I filed a 'claim' with Medicare and Noridian Health Care Solutions to investigate. It took apprx. 4 1/2 months (April 2020) for McDonald's billing office to reimburse me $573 for the 2 invoices I paid. The 3rd invoice in the amount of $443 that I paid was not submitted to Medicare by McDonald's billing office until March 2020! Medicare/ Noridian Health Care Solutions have sent McDonald's billing office letters stating he is in violation of his contract with Medicare. His billing office is ignoring Noridian's demands to complete the reimbursement of $443. McDonald's excuse for not reimbursing is "the bill from the hospital for the PFT should be managed through them". Sutter Health's hospital bill was paid in August 2019
