Dr. Charles Hale Marks

I saw doctor Marks in May 2019 for severe lower left abdominal pain. He did a urine pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy, read that it was negative, and sent me out of the office with a script for pain meds with follow-up instructions. When I had left the whole practice, a nurse called be back in and took me back to see him again. While standing at the nurses station, in front of 3 nurses and the PA student following him around, he said "oh it's positive, so you're pregnant, so that pain probably means you're miscarrying". I had been close to tears the entire appt due to pain and worry, and had told him we had been trying to conceive for more than 6 months so pregnancy would be welcome news. Saying all of that in one breath, in an open area, in front of other people was an absolute outrage. His bedside manner during my follow up appointment was more of the same - he answered my questions with "(shrug) well about a week" and similar answers. He didn't care. I've left the office.

The doctor is very nice but it is hard to get any kind of follow-up after an appointment or testing. Actually, it's difficult to get an appointment at all.

I've been a pt. of Dr. Marks for almost 25 yrs. for a variety of Obstetric (C-Sections) and GYN. related issues. He is the most caring, thorough and kind Dr. A great sense of humor, yet, attentive when needed. I gladly encourage anyone who needs his services to call his office for an appt.
