About Charles B Marder
Reviews for Charles B Marder
Dr.Charles Marder came to see me for consultation in my hospital room on Saturday morning. A few hours earlier, I came to Emergency Room, with severe pain and swollen foot. It was five weeks after hammer toe surgery performed by dr. J.R. of McKinney. Dr.Marder examined the foot, it looked really bad, so I received quick explanation, and practically lecture, action plan, risks, and hopes. I was on the way to lose my toe, if not the whole foot. Dr.Marder wasn't prepared to do surgery on emergency basis, but acted promptly. Within an hour I was on the operating table. Two surgeries, and eight days later I left the hospital. A week later I visited dr.Marder in his Plano office for follow up. Warm welcome, evaluation, and hope of avoiding toe's amputation, but unfortunately toe will never function again, which was the most optimistic option at that level of infection.. I currently, go for 6-8 weeks antibiotic therapy at Infectious Disease Clinic of Plano, and hope to keep my toe, even if it's only looking like toe. I'm sure, if hospital didn't call dr. Marder for urgent consultation, my condition would be far worse, I can't even thing about it, but possibly, I wouldn't survive. I dare, to call this unusual human being, and phenomenal doctor, My Savior. I will never be able to express enough how grateful I'm, and how much I appreciate his work, and will cherish him, and the moment I met him. Warning to all of you, hammer toe surgery, like many others, could be devastating for patient. I know, this kind of infection never happened to dr. Marde's patients. It's very critical to check the history of doctor's and hospitals or surgical centers. Thank you so much dr. Marder, and stay strong for decades to come. You can save many more patients, their feet, and even lives.
the bigest mystake to come, not profesional , only money

With diabetic foot issues as well as normal "wear and tear" it has taken time time to find a podiatrist I feel comfortable with since my previous doctor now only sees wound patients. Had my first visit with Dr. Marder this morning. He took the time to find out exactly where I'm at with my foot care and then he explained everything to me in illustrated detail. I understand the way my orthotics are going to be constructed and why. Previous podiatrists didn't even offer orthotic inserts as an option. Great visit with both the staff and Dr. Marder! Waited a long time for each visit but the minor procedure for my daughter was successful. Office is clean and staff is helpful.
Dr Marder inspires a lot of confidence. Let’s face it, as patients ( and especially new patients) we have no idea which Doctors are great and which ones to avoid. I’ll say this about Dr Marder, he must have a rare skill set because 2 Doctors said I wounld lose my foot and he was able to save it during my 13 day hospital stay. So naturally I now love the man. My diabetic condition had my foot degrading from simple callouses to near gangrene in just a matter of weeks. I was depressed about the likely outcome since I’d been told twice not to get my hopes up regarding the foot. I remember Dr Marder saying “don’t worry...we can deal with this.” It was amazing to watch his process. His confidence in the outcome transferred to me as well. I could see that he loves his job and would probably do it for free, but trust me, he won’t have to. He undoubtedly makes some obscene amount each year. In all seriousness Dr Marder is absolutely fantastic and someone you can trust without reservation. The office visits are pleasant. I always feel like I’m the only one there I mean they are so happy to see me. Either they book patients 46 minutes apart, or who knows, maybe they’re struggling for business. If that’s the case, and you have any podiatry issue whatsoever, go see Dr Marder immediately! Do not let this incredible practice go under!! Pardon my humor and just to summarize, He is highly skilled. (Think of House’s skills compared to his colleagues.) He is confident in the outcome he provides, and you’ll feel that way as well. The staff is efficient and super friendly. What else can I say, I mean he saved my foot That’s huge! I felt like I owed him something. I had a dream that I was going to give him one of my kidneys..no hesitation. Dr Marder inspires a lot of confidence. There's no rushing, or long waiting staff sweet and caring to your concerns. Dr.Marder is great and cares ❤ for his patient. He takes the time to listen and is very good at making you everything is gonna be ok.
I had bunion surgery in 1996 by Dr Charles Marder in Plano. After the surgery he told me I had brittle bones and he had trouble with my left foot when putting the screw in to hold the joint and it resulted in some "problems". I had both feet done at one time but the right foot was fine. I went to my doctor shortly thereafter who said I had no bone issues. I found out yesterday that Dr. Marder had completely severed the nerves in my left foot which has left it numb and I fall alot. Now I have to figure out how far the nerve damage goes to plot my course from here. Luckily I am athletic and healthy but this doctor did damage to me and even though its been a long time ago, I would never trust him again.
I know this will run contrary to most other reviews, but I HAVE to warn you given my very poor surgery outcome with Dr. Marder. I had typical bunion surgery on my right foot. It has been 3 full months and it is still incredibly painful to walk on this and I am in intensive PT. I am a 15-year marathon runner, and this has RUINED my chances of ANY running (not even a short distance) at any foreseeable point in my future. Dr. Marder had NO aftercare plan to get me back to being active. I had to figure that out for myself. I had horrible swelling, bruising, and significant scarring (after 3 months my foot is still so swollen I can only wear tennis shoes), and my foot feels WORSE that it did before the surgery. It hurts ALL DAY now and I can't bend most of my toes. Dr. Marder's aftercare was not well thought out - he even showed me comedy videos one day during a follow-up appointment (after I had waited over an hour on him!), rather than discussing appropriate care. And, he NEVER gave me any written exercises or guidance about how to regain mobility. He also basically lied to me and said I would be back to running in 8 weeks, which could not have been further from the truth. Please, please, take this seriously - if you are an athlete or anyone who is very active, this is NOT the doctor for you. Consider an orthopedic surgeon who is used to getting active people back to being active. I feel like this is truly one of the WORST MISTAKES I have ever made in judging a surgeon and trusting a doctor.
We love Dr. Marder and his staff! He’s a very kind and excellent physician! He took care of a diabetic foot injury that my husband had and he kept him from having to have surgery on it because of his thorough care! Thank you, Dr. Marder and staff!! You are all awesome! God bless each of you! James n Cindee Roach
Dr. Marder was my 6th, and last foot doctor/podiatrist. I had had about 7 or 8 prior foot surgeries. We did some laser treatments and then a few other things. Finally we had to do a minor foot procedure to break up the excess scar tissue I had from prior surgeries. He knows what he is doing. I have a lot less foot pain. I did not have any cushion on the soles of my feet, but now Indo. Thanks so much to Dr. Marder and his staff. Can’t say enough good things.
Can’t get any better than Dr.Marder. Great experience and a great man!
I have undergone 3 separate surgeries for different situations with Dr. Marder with amazing success. Hi staff gives excellent attention to detail and the best care to all individual patients and their needs. Dr. Marder takes the necessary time to focus on what each patients individual needs are, and listens to their concerns. Post operative care is exceptional, and his techniques are state of the art. I have continuously recommended Dr. Marder to my friends, family, and others who I meet. Thanks for all the excellent care over the last 5 years! Dr. Marder and his office staff are wonderful! From my consultation in November, 2018 through my bunion surgery in January, 2019 and my post op appointments, his office has been so easy to work with. Dr. Marder himself is so polite and detailed, explaining very clearly options for surgery. During my consultation and every appointment thereafter, he has spent ample amount of time with me. He answers all questions with clear explanations. I can’t recommend Dr. Marder enough! I will be doing my 2nd bunion surgery with him in the coming months and look forward to working with his office again. Dr. Marder and his office staff are wonderful! Wouldn't have him work on my dog. His staff is terrible. Trying to get a prescription renewed is a joke ... it is just not going to happen.
After seeing a wound care specialist for a venous ulcer for a year, Dr. Marder cured my foot ulcer in four weeks! No more pain! He is wonderful! I highly recommend Dr. Marder.
Dr Marder is a great podiatrist. I have been seeing him for many years. He has been able to resolve many problems with my feet. His staff are helpful and friendly. I would recommend him to any of my friends.
Dr Marder, was pleasant and nice to work with. His office staff however, Carla to be very specific, is horrible! I called on 8/24/17 to retrieve medical records for myself for another specialist I will be seeing and Carla without any explanation 'dumped' me into a voicemail. I left the message with my contact info and explanation of my request - I never got a callback. I called on 8/28 and spoke with Lillian. She was more helpful. She explained who would need to fill the record request (the office manager) and informed me that she would pass on the information, and that I should get it in a day or so. So I called today (since today is the day of my specialist visit) and Carla answered the phone - unfortunately. She was very curt from the beginning. She told me that she couldn't help me and that the most she could do is pass me on to the office managers voicemail. I explained to her that I had called numerous times and haven't gotten the records. She told that it "can take up to a month to get the records" - which I know is not true. (She made this statement before she knew my records were archived) I asked her when the office manager would return and she wouldn't say stating "she has different hours". I asked her can she tell me what days she is in the office and her reply was the same. I expressed to her that I felt like I was being given the "brush off". She was totally unconcerned and unhelpful. I stated that I was going to call Dr. Marder and let him know how I was being treated. Her response was "I'm just telling you how it is". Update: Carla called me back the same day, with a more pleasant tone, and was more helpful. She explained the specifics of my request and gave me a truthful answer. I upgraded the review from 1 star to 2 because of the follow up. I do not feel that 2 stars is unjustified however because when you go to a doctor you are not just dealing with the physician alone. You deal with the office staff almost as much, and the way I was treated by the office was uncalled for and unacceptable for such a prestigious field as medicine. I sincerely hope that Dr. Marder reads this because he needs to know how his patients (even if they are old) are being treated. 9/27/17 Update. Review moved back down to 1 Star. Still no medical records though I'm hopeful. I called the office like normal. Spoken to same lady. She gave me the same spiel; i can't help you need to talk with Kathy. I can connect you to her voicemail. NOT willing to help take any ownership of the issue to get it resolved. SERIOUSLY what a joke! No "I'm sorry, let me talk with Dr Marder when he gets back into the office to see if he can help get this expedited" - NOTHING. Just let me give you her voicemail. So... I could tell it was going no where; therefore, I called Coppell family medical center. The doctors office that Dr Marder sees patients at on Wednesdays throughout the week. They referred me to him way back when. I called them, spoke to a manager there and explained the issue. He was understanding and said that he would call over there and see if he couldn't get some movement. That was at like 10:30am. At 2:30 I finally got a call from "Kathy" at Dr Marder's office. She was apologetic, blamed it on the girl they use to pull records, and then said that she would personally pull them herself, have Dr Marder sign off the following day and have them to me by Monday. We will see.... as I understand it, I wouldn't be surprised if Coppell Family Medical Center doesn't fire Dr Marder and get anther podiatrist for their practice. I went to Dr. Marder in 2017. I messed up my foot in 2012 and was in constant pain. Dr. Marder took x-rays of my foot. It was really messed up. He did foot surgery in November 2017 and 2nd one December 2017. Then I saw him again in June 2018 because I was having constant pain in my foot. He suggested "MLS Laser" for the pain. I had eight sessions for that and I am happy to say it helped. Now I don't have the pain. I think is an excellent doctor and his staff is always nice. I brought my Mom to see Dr Marder and he was able to help her in one visit and get her up and on her feet pain free. Best Doctor in North Texas!!!
I twisted my ankle pretty bad in September. I was given Dr. Marder's number by a friend. Called the office and spoke with Carla...she was very kind and got me in that day. Very grateful for that because I could not walk on my foot at all. Ended up that I had a small fracture and they put me in a boot. The doctor is wonderful and the staff is very pleasant. I would highly recommend Dr. Marder. He previously helped my injured 70yr old mother-in-law who i Love as my own mom. She had several issues with her foot and the care to include the bedside mannerisms while she was at the hospital was very caring and family feeling. He speaks in a very realistic way to let you know every step but also the next step. That is why when i was recently in an accident, the choice was easy.
Dr. Charles Marder is one amazing guy. My toe looked gross and he simply fixed it. He was very nice and prompt. His staff was just as amazing. I was referred to him by my mother and I'll definitely refer him to anyone who will listen. :)
Everyone at Dr. Marder's office is fabulous & professional. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The MA was thorough and quick. Dr. Marder has the best bedside manner, he went over my diagnosis and he's witty. I highly recommend Dr. Marder. I feel well cared for here.
This was my first time to a Podiatrist and Dr. Marder was pleasant, friendly and funny. He basically took a glance at my x-ray and knew immediately the cause of my foot pain. He had a quick solution on how to make the pain go away, then walked me thru that process. I recommend Dr. Marder for assisting with finding comfort in whatever aches and pains you may have in your feet and/or ankles. He was in and out quickly, but took care of my needs and answered my questions.
He is great, and pay a lot of attention to his patients,
Great doctor!! I had an ingrown toenail and he fixed it perfectly, he also has great bedside manner, highly recommend him!
My husband has diabetes and breast cancer. Dr. Marder was very concerned and well informed on how to help my husband.

Extremely satisfied with the knowledge of Dr. Marder. He explained everything in detail and waited for you to ask questions. He made me feel as if I was the only patient he had. Office staff was very nice and accommodating.
I was able to get in to see the doctor the day of my call! The office was easy to find. The office staff were as personable, helpful, and friendly in person as they were on the phone. Dr. Marder spent ample time with me, answered my questions, and took care of my problem (I left feeling better than I did when I arrived). When I called the next day with a question, the office was again helpful and thorough. Dr. Marder was recommended by my mother, and I can see why.
just had my first appointment with Dr Marder- my gosh, I love him and wonderful staff !! From the first phone call to book appointment, his "Lillian" was so nice, made me feel so comfortable- and his nurse and office staff were welcoming and very sweet - could not have been more professional. Dr Marder is charming, knowledgeable, and straightforward guy...just what I and the world need in a medical field. No immediate customized items or surgery -just reasonable orthotics - I already feel better
I had an excellent visit to Dr. Charles Marder on October 10, 2016 for my diabetic feet examination, calluses removal, and examination of rough dry skin of my feet. He is a highly professional and compassionate podiatrist. He is very thorough in his medical examination of all areas of my feet and truly dedicated to help his patients. He does not rush with his patients and explains all details. I recommend him strongly to any patient. Dr. Marder and his staff are very courteous and friendly.
Great guy, professional, did a nice job on my daughter's ingrown toenail.
After having unsatisfactory bunion surgery by Dr. Marder in 2014, I requested (via fax, mail and in-person) on at least six occasions that he provide me with the medical records. Also filed a complaint with Medical Association, but have still not received my medical records.
we are defently not related i just think he is a good docter....
Great bedside manner! Takes time with each patient.
The man is a money hungry joke and should not be practicing. There is a difference between a DPM and a MD Orthopedic Surgeon. I found that out the hard way with severe hammer toes. Now i have two totally different hammer toe operations, the left foot done by Marder and the other by Dr. Christian T. Royer MD Orthopedic Surgeon. I now have to have my left foot redone because of marders mistakes of not cutting the tendons in toes 2 - 4 when he put the metal inplants in those toes to keep them staight, now leaving the tips of my toes back to "hammered" now causing pain and wairing holes through my socks, inside soles and even the bottom sole through the shoe, causing shoe purchasing every 3 - 4 months. Plus extending my ankle tendon were there was no need for if the tendons in the toes were snipped. All a MD Orthopedic Surgeon has to do is insert pins down through the toes, cut the tendons on the TOES, let set for 5 - 7 weeks, remove the pins and WHALLLA go into a comfortable sneaker and return to normal activity in another 3 - 5 weeks and no physical therapy. He was also late every time i came in, i waited 2 hours one time in the room and he was not even in the office yet, he does not no how to manage his or my time. Like i said, Marder does not no what he is doing and just cares about the money, really what kind of jackass puts up a display of shoes in the waiting room. Also be prepared, he does not have crutches, strapleg boots or walkers, i had to go somewhere else to buy all 3 of those. I was in a total of 3 cast and when he took the last one off i had to leave barefooted cause he had no boot no crutches nor walker in dead winter at the end of January in 30 degree cold.
