Avoid, inappropriately a bullish man hiding behind a license and NYU infrastructure. Aggressive Sees Caregivers as a threat. Crass bedside manners. A chewed gum under my shoe has more winning. personality.

Avoid. I waited six weeks for an appointment, as I am generally a fan of NYU physicians and liked that Dr. Kim is receptive to eastern medicine. But my visit was conducted almost entirely by a resident. Dr. Kim examined me for about two minutes, came up with a diagnosis, prescribed PT and sent me on my way. He didn't even ask if I had any questions. Such a disappointing experience.

I had been in pain for almost a year and a half; I was shuffled between different specialists and had my pain "mansplained" before seeing Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim did an extremely thorough examination, ordered a variety of scans and tests, and explained his logic for doing so in terms that I could understand. Based on the results, I needed surgery and Dr. Kim was able to suggest colleagues that he thought would be best for the procedure. I am grateful that Dr. Kim took my pain seriously and was willing to take the time to identify the root cause.

so far excellent, especially with epidurals, always on point, he does spend the time, its sometimes very difficult to spot where the issues are coming from, does referred to other allied specialties for needed consults, been with him a lot of years,

Dr Kim is untrustworthy and did procedures on me that he said were approved by the insurance company only now to be told by the insurance company that the claims are denied because they were medically unnecessary. Dr Kim does not give the time needed to ask questions. Now, I am left to try and pay huge bills. Absolutely would not recommend him.

Does not respond to inquiries no matter how important or urgent they are. Totally unreliable. Keeps door open when examining patient, compromising privacy, even he is asked to maintain privacy. Very untrustworthy. Gave me a completely incorrect diagnosis that was confirmed false repeatedly by others.

Dr. Kim is a changed doctor. I was his patient years ago when he was in private practice. Wonderful!! I sought him out again last year and learned that he was now affiliated with NYU. My visits have been wastes of time. He types on his computer, enters the same data each time we visit, wants to prescribe, order physical therapy...even though none of those have helped me. He doesn't make phones calls. These one-star reviews are very accurate. Read them carefully. Done with him and NYU.

My wife was referred to Dr. Kim for treatment of a back pain that becomes severe intermittently. She was evaluated by his assistant for a while. When Dr. Kim came and saw her, he was dismissive of her problem, told her to take Tylenol and referred her to a physical therapist who was not available for the next 3 months. Next day my wife had to be admitted to NYU hospital to manage the pain which went up to a level 10 in a scale of 10. We are in our second day here at the hospital as I write this review. My take on Dr. Kim is that he doesn’t listen or try to find the source of a pain that could mean going through h... for a patient and can care less for what the patient is going through. I am a big fan of NYU faculty. Over time, I have seen many fine NYU doctors, and I am an active patient of a few wonderful NYU doctors. I met with Dr. Kim regarding terrible pain. My 1st & only visit with Dr. Kim was the worst experience I ever had with any doctor. Where do I begin? Arrogant. Rude. Uncaring. Cold. Distracted when I spoke. Dismissive & condescending regarding my administrative questions ("I'm just an employee here."). Implied I was a drug addict, etc., etc.

Dr. Kim is the best doctor on this planet, enough said! I first saw him for carpal tunnel, followed by rotator cuff syndrome, meniscus knee tear, neck problems -- all in a span of 10 years. I followed him wherever he went because he is knowledgable, very thorough and he has excellent bedside manners. Two months' waiting time for an appointment is to be expected but the wait is well worth it. I recommend Dr. Kim to the moon and back.

Kim represents all that is wrong with NYU and medicine. He is distant, unfriendly, and never makes eye contact. He sits behind his desk behind two giant computer monitors entering data and staring at the screens during consultations. Patients cannot make eye contact with him, and he makes no effort to stand to say hello or goodbye, let alone discuss tough choices. He has zero empathy and represents NYU's general attitude that medicine is all about research, not patients. He should be removed.

I've had low grade pain for most of my life due to a serious spinal fusion. I saw Dr. Kim for acupuncture over 6 mos in 2016. The treatment helped a bit, so 3 stars for that. That said, Dr. Kim is BUSY. There is always a wait time of at least 2 mos so I took to booking 6 appts at a time. Every visit was rushed. At my last visit he needled a part of my back that wasn't in pain with no explanation. Ultimately I'm looking for more partnership / conversation with the person who helps manage my pain.

I had an appointment with Dr. Kim on 4/7/2017. I waited a whole solid hour before Dr. Kim finally came to see me. However, he seemed to be in such a hurry to leave that he didn't have the patience to talk or listen to me. Before I had the chance to ask him questions, he was gone, leaving me dumbfounded. He didn't bother to sit down. The whole consultation took about 5 minutes. He is really an eye opener! I tried to clear the check above but can't. I will not recommend Dr. Kim to any of my family

Dr Kim is not a compassionate doctor. He is demeaning and doesn't offer any solution for your pain just calls you a drug addict. He also denied that my fibrous dysplasia can cause pain. Walk a day in my shoes Mr Kim.

After 1 xray, Kim calls me hurriedly to say I need to have my hip joint replaced with metal. SHOCK.I insisted on an MRI and he had the results for 2 WEEKS before calling me,hurriedly. MRI report said "no sign" of the problem he diagnosed ("AVN") but now he had a different reason I need hip replacement. I dont know what it was; he refused to put anything in writing for me or my PCP; they spoke hurriedly on the phone. 9 months later, with only physical therapy, I have little discomfort, or none.

I have been treated by Dr. Kim several times and I am extremely pleased with his treatment. He is extremely knowledgeable about pain relief injections.. He does not prescribe narcotic pain medication. He is very personable and spends a great deal of time discussing your medical problems and treatments. I think he is wonderful. NYU is my hospital of choice. Dr Kim is by far the worst medical consult I have ever experienced. I went to see him with a recent MRI. I spent close to 2 hrs in the examination room, most of it waiting while a resident did the examination and consulted with Dr. Kim in his office. Dr Kim repeated part of the examination and ordered an additional MRI. When I requested information he was arrogant, hurried and gave me a generalized printout that I could have gotten off the internet. AVOID THIS DOC!

No recommendations for easing pain between visits, you simply must endure. When asked questions about things I should or should not be doing, simply responded if it hurts, don't do it. After waiting to see Dr. Kim for each appointment he rushed through our conversation seemingly trying to get me out so he could see the next patient. I truly did not feel as though he cared about my pain or well being at all. Very disappointed.
