Just completed cataract surgery and found the whole staff to be caring, kind and efficient. Was informed well about before and after procedures and had no difficulties. The follow up is excellent and my eye sight is now improved

I recently was told by my eye doctor that my cataracts had gotten to the point where they needed to be removed. I had been using Northern NJ Eye Institute for my eye exams for many years and decided to use their Cataract Surgery Center. My doctor was Charles Crane. From my first appointment with Dr Crane, I felt that I was in good hands. The exam was very thorough, and we discussed the lens replacement options. I was totally prepared for the procedure and what to expect afterwards. On the day of surgery, all the assisting operating staff handled everything so professionally and efficiently. Very impressive. I was very comfortable and well taken care of. The surgery went well and was a fairly easy procedure. In summary, I would highly recommend Northern NJ Eye Institute and Dr Crane for any eye surgical procedures. And I will continue to use their office for my routine eye exams. Everyone on the staff is very helpful and friendly.

It is a pleasure to visit the South Orange office. Starting with the staff; always courteous and very helpful. Dr. Crane is amazing! He is very attentive and always takes the time to explain every treatment or procedure. I just had surgery and my experience was very satisfying. My vision has definitely improved. I have told everyone about my amazing doctor and the staff that work with him in South Orange! Definitely a five star facility and the best Ophthalmologist I ever had. I will continue to go to Dr. Crane for all my vision/eye health.

The surgery was efficient and most importantly, successful. The staff was considerate and kind. Situations were well explained. My initial visit was slow and involved a lot of waiting time.

I was referred to Dr. Crane by a friend. Dr. Crane and his staff were very well organized and made you feel very comfortable and not "rushed" as some doctors do. All questions were answered and while he guided me he made sure it was my decision to elect cataract correction. The appt, billing and most important - the surgery and follow up was great.

Dr. Crane and his staff are amazing! I rarely waited for my appts and everyone is really nice. there. They take all of the right precautions. I was nervous about cataract surgery, but Dr. Crane has a calming, friendly and confidence-inspiring manner that put me immediately at ease. Everything was explained to me clearly, with patience and empathy. The NNJEI facility is first-rate, and I was impressed with the vast array of high-tech scopes, cameras and devices that the highly trained staff used to precisely measure my eye. I got the distinct impression that everyone on the staff loves working there, and that says a lot to me about the practice, and about Dr. Crane. The surgery itself was very quick and anxiety-free. I felt no pain or irritation either during or after, and even though it's only been two days post-op, I can already see a big difference. With my new premium multifocal lens implant, colors appear dramatically more vivid and natural, whereas my untreated eye sees the world with a tint, as cataracts are yellow. I'm looking forward to my second surgery next month, and I can't thank Dr. Crane enough.

Incredible - outstanding! Right Eye Cataract Surgery. Pain or discomfort? Both ABSENT!! The entire experience was top notch - every single aspect of my cataract surgery exceeded my expectations by a very huge margin. I was surprised when I went to a new ophthalmologist, as my doctor had retired, and they told me I needed cataract surgery. I rejected that first group I visited as I had this weird feeling I was in a factory. Now I contacted the doctor who took over the practice of the ophthalmologist I had been a patient of for many years. I liked her and the practice a lot and felt comfortable there until she began explaining cataract surgery and now my head was spinning and I’m questioning having the surgery at all. I contacted a friend who had cataract surgery with Dr. Crane. I made an appointment and immediately felt comfortable in his office. When he explained my options for the surgery, he did it with confidence and caring for me and what was right for me. I chose to have the surgery with Dr. Crane. It was extremely efficient and fast. Within hours i was thankful for going forward because I quickly saw the difference in my eyesight. Thank you Dr. Crane!

After I was told I needed cataract surgery I was given two recommendations for a surgeon, one by my eye doctor and the other by my sister, Northern New Jersey Eye Institute. I called both and only NNJEI offered to pick me up and drop me off the day of the surgery and for the post-op the day after, which I found to be very convenient as I wouldn’t have to bother anyone to take the day off from work. Dr. Crane explained the different types of lenses and the different prices, and he didn’t try to upsell me on the more expensive lenses, which I appreciated. Not until Dr. Crane removed my cataract and my vision eventually cleared a few days later did I ever think I was going to be able to see that well again out of that eye. I highly recommend NNJEI and Dr.Crane. He and his staff is great and makes you feel comfortable and appreciated. I was even given a little gift for having a successful surgery but I won’t tell you what it is, you’ll have to find out for yourself...:)

Dr. Crane performed cataract surgery on both of my eyes. Both surgeries were extremely successful. My vision is almost 20/20 with the new implanted lenses. The surgery went smoothly and was painless. It took only a week to heal with minimal restrictions. I highly recommend Dr. Crane if you are in need of eye surgery.

Dr. Crane performed 2 cataract surgeries on my eyes in January and February of 2019. I could not be more please with the outcome of both surgeries. Besides being very skilled and professional Dr. Crane was very friendly, confident and comforting. His staff was wonderful for both surgeries too. Dr. Crane did cataract surgery on both of my eyes. He also inserted IOL with my distant prescription. Words can not describe how wonderful this experience has been. I was unable to drive at night due to the blurry glare from the headlights. I can now see so clearly day or night. Thank you Dr. Crane for giving me my life back. Dr Crane is an amazing doctor. I had blepharitis and saw multiple doctors and he was the only one able to get it under control. The condition was depressing and life altering and Dr Crane changed all of that. I also had LASIK performed by Dr Crane and once again he changed my life for the better. I highly recommend Dr Crane to anyone of any age. He has a true passion for the practice and has the best bedside manner I have ever encountered.

I am a patient of another doctor in the practice who recommended I see Dr. Crane as I needed surgery. I waited three months for an appointment which was then canceled the day before. The next available appointment wasn't for another three months. One would think they would try to accommodate the cancelled patients. Ridiculous.

Dr. Crane is THE BEST eye care specialist EVER! He explains in detail your eye health and his plans to treat the issue. Great bed side manner and a great singing voice. The staff is polite, knowledgeable, efficient, prompt and thorough. The two of us will forever have "Bennie and the Jets". Thank you Dr. Crane for taking good care of me. Can't wait to SEE you again next year.
