My daughter has suffered chronic pain for the last 5 years, she is 21. We exhausted all options in North Alabama and called to get in at Andrews after being told about it. The appointment took two months due to the system being updated and no one responded to the portal. We could not get through over the phone. Once contacted, the appointment was scheduled within a week. The service was prompt and friendly.. The doctor was pleasant,and after reviewing her records admitted there was nothing he could offer, but referred her to UAB, for an Orthopedic surgeon to staff her case. He scheduled her for an updated MRI, that she got that same day, to be able to send it on to UAB. We are now waiting for an appointment there. We greatly wished she could have had some relief offered that day. The doctor did give her a cortisone shot in her back.

I carried my wife, Sandra, for issues in her hip and leg. Dr. Carnel assessed her and immediately took action to help her alleviate her pain and immobility. He was very personable, thorough, and knowledgeable. It was an exceptional medical experience.

Can’t say enough about Andrews Sports Medicine, however Dr. Carnel is the real superstar here….???????? My second time I’ve seen him and both times the shots didn’t hurt…????. Dr. Carnel treats his patient very well. He took the time to answer all questions I had and showed me my mri and explained to me. He is very caring doctor. I would definitely recommend seeing him.

I was hoping to gain some relief that day but understand more testing needs to be completed in order to find the root cause. It was nice to feel that the doctor actually listened & heard what I said surrounding the issues I was having.

Dr. Carnel is very attentive and listens well. I like his conservative approach. AND his office staff is efficient and I did not have a long wait.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Carnel to my friends and family; he is very caring, compassionate doctor. I've never felt rushed in an appointment with him.

Very helpful and listened to everything I had to say. He even answered my questions before I had to ask. Dr. Carnel is top notch and I'm confident moving forward with his procedures.

Dr. Carnel works at a world-class facility because he is a world-class doctor. I left my appointment completely confident that his expertise of my specific injury guided his healthcare plan made for my needs. This is not a one-size fits all hospital. On top of that, the entire staff is incredibly professional, helpful and friendly.

I must share, immediately when I got in the car , taking in consideration my husband had waited over hour and a half for me in the car I was so excited! I said Dr.Carnel was the nicest doctor. Staff was professional and courteous. Doctor Carnel was attentive, courteous, thorough and competent. Some of the best listening skills that I have experienced from any physician in my 72 years. He seemed genuinely interested in getting to the root of my medical problems which have persisted for 6 months.

Dr. Carnel is great....getting to him, not so much. They really need a way better system for scheduling appointments rather than having someone call you back...totally inefficient. He could be so much busier with a better scheduling system. So frustrating. I had this same problem when he was not officially with Andrews and had hoped that it would be better since he moved over to Andrews....nope.

The staff for Dr. Carnel was important to me since this was my first visit for any ailment in a number of decades ( I am 71) and they made my visit a very positive one. Dr. Carnel provided the relief I needed for my leg and that is very much appreciated. I know Dr. Carnel is very busy but it would have been a pleasure to meet and shake his hand after the surgery to thank him and his staff for their professional and personal handling of my pain issue. Great staff, highly professional Dr and staff

I was impressed with the facility, staff, and Dr. Cornel is attentive, kind and proficient.

Dr. Carniel was professional, patient, and personable....and gave me reasonable advice.

Dr Carnel takes time to listen to you and cares about his patients and providing the best care.

As with previous visits to Dr. Carnel, he was professional, interested in my condition and offered sound recommendations for treatment (lower back pain).

Dr Carnel is very caring and attentive. He takes the time to fully answer my questions. I would definitely recommend him to my family and friends.

Dr. Carmel is an excellent Dr. He has been doing my Injections for pain. He's done my neck, SI joints and hips so far. He is the only Dr. That I have had that actually cares about the person's pain and he performs the injections with the least amount of pain possible. He always answers my questions and it isn't hard to get an appointment with him when you tell them you are in pain . My billing has never been a problem either. Dr Cordover that is in his same office does the surgeries. He is excellent also. One stop Drs office. For help!!!They do many famous athletes and treat their normal everyday patients with kindness and much care too. They are not quick to go surgery first which is great,,! Extremely satisfied with my initial visit with Dr. Carnel at Andrews Orthopedic Center! He was professional, very knowledgeable and completely interested in going forward, firstly, with a non-surgical plan. I am most pleased ???? and completely sure I have selected the perfect physician!

I have been seeing Dr. Carnel for my back issues and RFA procedures. There are also several family members who see him as well. I have seen several Orthopedic physicians and none seem to have the clinical knowledge as well as a stroller bedside manner. I see him on 3/25 for an appointment and MRI. After that we will discuss my next Route for treatment. He's the best in Birmingham. If your back hurts he will do his very best to make you better.

I will never use this doctor again. Rude doctor rude staff. Debbie is horrible no compassion at all. Doctor has no bedside manners.

Dr. Carnel was an answer to our prayers. My husband had seen a previous doctor and had three back surgeries with that doctor 13 years ago. Since that doctor has passed away, and my husband's back issues had returned, he needed a new back doctor. Several people recommended Dr. Carnel and the Andrews Institute. During the appointment, Dr. Carnel listened and reviewed the MRI results with us. He took the time to answer all the questions that we had. We loved that he wanted to start with the least invasive procedure. He has a great bedside manner and we are blessed to have such a wonderful, knowledgeable doctor for my husband's back issues.

Very nice and very knowledgeable!

I've seen Dr. Carnel 3 times for office visits and 4 times for epidural steroid pain blocks in my back. I trust Dr. Carnel and appreciate his efficiency and effectiveness. While no doctor is perfect (no PERSON is perfect), I'm pleased with his demeanor and his treatment. I recommend Dr. Carnel

Dr Carnel was a waste of time and money. He's more interested in what test can be run next than trying to find out what the problem is. He was totally unprepared for my last (and very last) visit and couldn't have cared less. He's a box checker, more interested in how much more your insurance will cover than trying to find a suitable treatment.

Dr Carnel is the best! He is very kind, he actually takes time to listen to you and all of your concerns. He and his staff were very fast and efficient setting up the procedure I needed very quickly. I would highly recommend him to anyone!!

Nicest staff I have ever seen. Explained my condition better than my actual physician did in 5-10 minutes. Extremely clean facility.

Dr Carnel was very rude. He stereotypes many people as being drug abusers even though they have been off of opiods for almost 2 years and do not use drugs. He suppose to help with the pain but he only adds to it with his lack of candor and unconcerned attitude.

I HAD GREAT RESULTS WITH DR. CARNEL!! I HAVE HAD BLOCKS ON MY BACK IN THE PAST WITHOUT ANY SUCCESS AND WAS LEARY OF DOING IT AGAIN. DR. CARNEL'S STAFF WAS WONDERFUL ABOUT GETTING EVERYTHING SET UP FOR MY MRI AND WORKING ME IN TO GET IT DONE THE NEXT WEEK. I HAD GREAT RESULTS IMMEDIATELY AND IT HAS LASTED SEVERAL MONTHS WITHOUT ANY RETURNING PAIN! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE I KNOW HAVING BACK PROBLEMS!!
