Dr Capen is a skilled surgeon with a kind and caring demeanor. He is knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable when facing a surgical procedure. I appreciate the time he spent with me to make sure I understood all that was going on. I felt confident in his ability and was more than pleased with the outcome. I agree with the person who posted on March 29th, 2019. I was constantly having to remind and clarify my situation to Capen. He didn't listen and was always in a hurry. I had a difficult time getting clarification on what to expect. I knew that he had an excellent reputation so that gave me more faith in him then perhaps it should have. I think that he might have been an excellent doctor at one time, but that is no longer the case. I don't know if it is his hearing, his memory, that he is over-scheduled, or all of the above. There were issues with my surgery and I have never gotten a clear or adequate explanation as to why they occurred. Dr. McCormick is the better surgeon and physician by far. He bed side manner is excellent and he makes sure to answer all questions thoroughly. Everything went smoothly when I had to go through the entire surgical experience again with McCormick to correct a something that occurred under Capen.

Dr Capen does not review your file before seeing you. You have to update him on your past history everytime you see him! Twice I asked questions about menopause and both times he told me he does not deal with menopause! Besides being very condescending, he never has time for your questions. Do not waste your time with this ego inflated doctor! Robin Martin
