"Dr" Adams is the most unreliable Medical Doctor in the City of Memphis. I wanted to give her a try because I heard excellent reviews about her from my health insurance provider. However, I would soon learn that I made a terrible mistake. I first made my appointment with her back in early March. Her earliest availability was for MAY 26TH. That's right. I waited over TWO MONTHS for an appointment with her. I figured that if what I heard about her was true, maybe she was worth the wait. Well, Mid-April comes around, and I received a phone call that from her office that stated I would have to reschedule with Dr. Adams because she was no longer available at our agreed time. Hesitantly, I decided I would wait even longer to be seen by her. One would think I would have caught on at this point! Alas, I still had faith. On May 14th, I received another call from her office that stated she was going to be "away from the office" and that I would need to reschedule with her. I guess she did not care about the fact that I took off work over two months ago in order to make it to my Doctor's appointment. As foolish as it sounds, I decided to giver her a THIRD chance. Her earliest availability was...wait for it...JULY 16TH. Do the math. By that point, I will have WAITED FOUR MONTHS simply to be seen by a Doctor. Cecilia Adams should have her license revoked. Who knows what could have happened in that time span? The development of a tumor? Some other life-threatening illness? I will NEVER attempt to schedule an appointment with her again. She only cares about herself, not the well-being of her patients. Hey, "Dr". Adams, give me a call if you would like to discuss how to improve your loyalty to your patients. If you are a veteran and the VA can not get you in and they are sending you to an outside primary care do not I repeat do not allow them to send you here. They did nothing as far as a checkup goes nor did they provide needed scripts. I helped them with what forms they needed to send in to be able to send for approval of a pain management doctor. They were supposed to send it in that day well I started calling in to find out if they sent in for me to see the pain management dotor and if they could write my script since I had not recieved anything on going to pmc I asked to get my scripts refilled. Well for 6 days in a row I called multiple times a day spoke to Amy each time nice lady from upfront who kept sending messages to Dr Adams and the nurse and she would tell me they would call me back well they never called me back on the 6th day of me calling she finally got me back to the nurse which then I was informed before transfer that they just sent in the SAR form for approval a form that was supposed to be sent in a month prior when I saw them. On top of that the nurse said well she has a high volume of patients and she was off the last few weeks and that she just sent it in and thats that you just have to deal with it. I said what do you mean thats that it was supposed to be sent in the day I saw you all a month ago and she said well it wasnt. So I said well since it wasnt and the ball was dropped can the doctor refill my script she said no. Oh also first instead if prescribing what Houston VA had been prescibing they said they couldn't do that and said they would prescribe tramadol or fentanyl. Are you kidding me.. One extreme to another. Neither what I am on. Everytime I called I never was rude and today I had to pick up a certified letter and I was actually thinking it would be for pain management. So went to the post office spent an hr standing in line to get a letter from Dr Adams that will no longer be able to act as my PCP. Said my behavior makes it impossible to maintain a healthy doctor/patient relationship. Seriously I have been nothing but respectful and helped them with triwest cause they have just started dealing with them and I was told I was being to nice with them giving me the run around and not calling me back or giving me any info on what was going on. If they would of done that from the get go instead of avoiding doing their jobs I could of started finding another doctor or what I had to do to have what needed to be done actually get done. Its a shame how Veterans are getting treated and they try to fix it to allow to go to an outside primary and you get treated just as bad. I have been here in Memphis since June. My primary care from Houston VA was doing what she could for me thinking that 4 months would be long enough for me to get one here. Well it wasnt and it was an act of god to get approved to see an outside primary after waiting 5 months to get a primary here in Memphis and this is where I get sent. Its just a shame having to deal with this. All I can say if they ask you or tell you the name of who they are sending you to and they say this place tell TriWest hell no...
