About Catherine Cogley
Reviews for Catherine Cogley
Anytime I brought my child into Dr. Cogley, there wasn’t a genuine effort to make them comfortable. The appointment always felt rushed and my child was left, honestly, a little traumatized from the rushed treatment and examination that’s ultimately very personal to any little person. They hate going to the doctor or any offices (which isn’t meant to be/sound melodramatic, but as their pediatrician, that’s the only doctor my child would meet with any regularity), despite my efforts to give positive associations with these places because these places are inherently meant to be positive and helpful to children. It leaves me saddened and confused on why you would seek to practice pediatrics if this is the attitude and practice you take when a child expresses discomfort during general appointments.

She was great and seemed to care about my son. However, I always felt rushed when my appointments were going on.
Have been seeing Dr. Cogley for a few years now. Have had no issues. Always good advice, always professional and my daughter likes her as well. The staff is always very good as well. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Cogley to anyone I care about.
My childrem have been seeing Dr. Cogley for 13 years now. She's always been very attentive to all my concerns and listens to my reservations on particular treatments. I've never felt hurried or pushed to do something I didn't want to do. Very personable and great with kids.
Our daughter was born with Down Syndrome. We were waiting on the results of the formal blood test and it was stressful. The receptionist called me on the phone chewed gum and said, "Your baby has tested positive for Down Syndrome." Like our baby had AIDS or Ebola. I asked her why Dr. Cogley didn't have us into the office or tell us in person, she just popped her gum into the phone and said we could come in for a visit to discuss if "wanted." We left this heartless practice. Not classy.
Dr. Cogley is lovely! My son has seen her since Dr. Reimer retired 8 or 9 years ago. Her bedside manner is perfect for kids, and she is thorough and respectful in her dealings with us as parents.

I absolutely Love Dr. Cogley she has always had my daughter's best interests at heart. I highly recommend her to anyone.
Dr. Cogley is horrific! After two trips with my 12month old daughter in to see her, she swore by her thermometer (which was only reading 100 degrees) but would not even touch her after I said, "My daughter is on fire, feel her." The second time in, I begged her for medicine because my daughter was still not getting better after 2 weeks. She claimed, "I don't want to over pre-scribe, but I guess I can give you some antibiotics because her ear looks a little red." After she took one quick look in her ears. Long story short, 18 minutes after leaving Cogley's office, my daughter had a febrile seizure in her car seat, had to be rushed by ambulance to Tacoma Children's Hospital where the doctor took one look in her ears and said "WOW, that's really infected! That easily explains all the fevers" I called Cogley's office the next day to report all of this and not only would Cogley NOT talk to me, she put me on the phone with some nurse that had never met me or my daughter before. I asked the nurse to have Cogley call me at her convenience and she never did. This was the most horrific experience that a mother can go through and for a doctor to be so cold and dismissive is absolutely disgusting. BEWARE!!!!!! Dr. Cogley is horrific! After two trips with my 12month old daughter in to see her, she swore by her thermometer (which was only reading 100 degrees) but would not even touch her after … More
Dr. Cogley has been my kids doc for years and the kids love her. I respect her medical education and they have always gotten us in quickly and taken care of us when we had an emergency. Highly recommend!
Was recommended to her by a friend. First time mom. Took my daughter (14 months) to her 2 times in 2 weeks for a fever and tearing at her ears. Both times she took her temp with an electronic thermometer that read 100 degrees. I asked them to take it again (in the rectum) and they refused saying this is how they always do it. She did not touch my daughter to examine her so she could not feel how hot she was in my arms. She examined her ears and said there was too much wax to see anything but they were a little pink. On the 2nd visit I begged her to prescribe an antibiotic as I was sure it was an ear infection. She did reluctantly saying she didn't want to be known as over prescribing. On my way home from getting the meds (18 minutes after leaving her office) my daughter had a febrile seizure in her car seat. I called the ambulance and they took her temp (in the rectum) at 104!!! We spent the evening in the ER coming out with hefty med bills to go with the anxiety of watching my daughter seize! The diagnosis...a severe double ear infection. Called her office the next day. She would not only NOT talk to me on the phone, her nurse said it was not the fault of their office and they have never had anything like this happen before. This is my 2nd review as my first one was 'mysteriously' taken down. This doctor may have book smarts, but she is not a mom and does not have the bedside manner to treat children!

I initially liked Dr.cogleys personality and had read a few reviews on her. I am very open to new people and different personalities and do not get upset very easily. However, after having visited her 4 times with my 4 month old, I have many reasons why I will be switching to a different pediatrician. 1) overheard Dr. Cogley talking badly about a patient to a member of the staff. Then mentioned to me that the previous patient asked too many questions. 2) told me that I would just have to deal with my babies fussiness at night, without giving me any options as to things to try to help ease his gas/fussiness. 3) while giving my baby his 4 month shots, her nurse made my baby choke on the oral vaccine and while he was choking and red in the face she kept trying to force more down his throat!! She was also very much in a hurry while giving him his shots. It probably didnt help that she was trying to give it to him while he was LYING down! Really!? I had to pull him away from her. 4) she does not have children so doesn't understand how a parent feels 5)I had a few legitimate concerns that she acted as if they were no big deal and swept them under the rug. 6) always talks about her personal life, which gets really frustrating when your paying her to take care of your child, not hear about her 'new car'.

She has been caring for my boys since the 1st one was born. She is wonderful. She takes time with you and really listens. She sent us for a sleep study and we found out our almost 2 yr old had obstructive sleep apnea. They have had a lot of office staff. Can't keep up with them. Sometimes they are good and other times they need some help with Customer Service. All the nurses have been awesome.
