No one calls you back for an appointment. Ridiculous

I am fortunate to have great service throughout the years I have gone here: Maitland and Orlando offices. The staff has communicated well and returned calls. However, the patient portal is the way to go. Messages and questions get directed to the right person. Dr. Pacheco personally answers your medical questions. He is kind, caring and you can feel this from him personally. Years before I saw him, some blind women talked about how helpful and compassionate he was. I finally decided to travel farther to see Dr. Pacheco. I have been very impressed with his actual insulin pump knowledge and skills at adjusting the pump. Many, if not most Sa do not know how to physically manage a lump. He took mine once and rapidly changed the settings. I used to be a CDE, diabetes educator and all the physicians had their nurses and patients make physical adjustments because they never learned how to operate the equipment. Kudos to Dr. Pacheco for learning so much and continuing to be a genuine caring physician who encourages his patients. I have had a type 1 diabetes for 51 years and do not intimidate Dr. Pacheco who has experience treating people who have diabetes for many years. Dr Carlos Pacheco is a FANTASTIC physician, THE BEST !! That's is the ONLY reason I'm still going to that office. The front office/scheduling are probably the WORST in the business. At any time of the day all calls are redirected to the answering service and they don't want to take messages just tell patients to keep calling back. I send message using the portal NO RESPONSE. We have been coming to Dr. Pacheco for years and he has always greeted us with a huge smile and a kind, compassionate manner. My son no longer lives in town but comes back and makes sure to connect with Dr. Pacheco whenever necessary, and he could go to see anyone in his own city. I also want to say, although they are difficult to get in to at times, I spoke with Richey and he couldn't have been more helpful and understanding. In today's world, kindness and compassion unfortunately aren't the norm but it seems to be with Dr. Pacheco and his staff, especially Richey and Mary. Unimpressed! The lack of caring about their patients is inexcusable and unprofessional!

I came to see Dr. Pacheco about 3 months ago regarding some symptoms I was having due to a recent diet change. He did bunch of tests to see if any of my symptoms were related to my hormones or any chance of prediabetes. Based on his findings, he told me that there was absolute nothing wrong with me and that i might have hormonal imbalances in my brain so he suggested that I saw a physiatrist. I asked him multiple times to do an insulin and glucose test to see if i may have developed a hypoglycemia since my diet was Keto diet for 3 years. He kept shutting me down and telling me he had no reason to do any further testing and finally told me to find a different doctor or to go to MAYO clinic for further testing. He even closed my patient portal and pretty bunch told me to F... myself.. Well I finally convinced my physician to do those test and guess what??! I have hypoglycemia. Dr. Pacheco has failed me as his patient and pretty much left me in the dark just because he thought he knew better. If you are looking for a doctor who will actually pay attention to you and your current symptoms, i suggest you go somewhere else. Because of his arrogance and stubbornness, I've been put on medications that i probably didn't even need in the first place. A simple test could have prevented all of this. BE AWARE!!! I love Dr. Pacheco, however; their office policy is unacceptable. A few years back, I lost my insurance due to a job change. I called and spoke to a rep and told them that I had to cancel my appointment. They told me to call back in January when I got my new insurance. I called in January but they didn't take my new insurance...fine, I blame ACA (remember, you can keep your Dr?) The next year I got a new insurance and was excited to call and start visiting Dr Pacheco again. I call and was told that because I cancelled an appointment and hadn't returned, I couldn't come back. I love dr pacheco .I never have any problems. he explain you lav work very good. he take time to talk to you am like that attention front a doctor recommended him the best thanks dr Pacheco.

Staff are somewhat disorganized. Physicians do not fully listen to patients but have a ‘we already know’ one size fits all attitude and style.

I have witnessed the disgraceful level of service expressed in some of these reviews during my first phone call. Glad I can prevent any future headaches by avoiding this office.

Dr. Pacheco appointments are consistently long due to overbooking. This was admitted to by his office staff. I had never minded waiting to see him as he is a good physician, however on a recent appointment for my mother she was 12 minutes late and they refused to see her when she got there. It’s ok for patients to be at his office 1.5 hrs to spend 8 minutes with him but I guess a little courtesy couldn’t be offered for her delay.. I called to inquire if they could makeover an exception and see her since she had spinal surgery three weeks earlier and traveling was difficult. The office manager and staff were rude and not considerate of her condition. As good of a physician as Dr. Pacheco is, his staff is not worth dealing with to be a patient there. This is a business minded office. Money and not patient care comes first. I was a patient there & because I missed 2 back to back appointments I was sent a letter telling me I was not welcomed. I James Medina was also sent a letter releasing me as a patient. I was highly disappointed and feel disrespected after 18 yrs and at times traveling several of miles to his practice. I can not believe the odacity of him & staff to release me for not participating on a procedure which is my right. Instead of personally sitting with me to discuss the matter. I was dumbfounded with this letter and of this decision because I truly believed Dr. Pacheco was not only my Dr. But a friend. Note: I was referred to Dr. Pacheco but unfortunately this doctor will never have me as one of his patients. OFFICE POLICY to even make a new patient appointment they want a credit card to put on file in the event that you cancel an appointment, no show, whatever. First, I find this insulting and insensitive. 2. How do you secure credit card info? I dont know you nor the person on the phone. I will never give my credit card info over the phone for an appointment that is 3 months away. How desperate is your practice? Sounds like you dont have great patient retention or relationships that people are just not showing up or canceling that you have to demand credit card info first. If your practice is that desperate you are doing something wrong! The average patient making an appointment is not the one or 2 individuals that may have abused appointments. I professionally work with over 400 physicians throughout Central Florida. Dr. Pacheco is a rare breed in that he is both a great physician and a genuinely nice person. He listens to your every comment and develops a real plan to keep you healthy even with diabetes. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Pacheco.

This practice takes advantage of elderly patients!!! Insisted on a "needed" test, said it was covered by insurance, then charged $1200 to an elderly patient on a fixed income.

I have been going to Dr. Pacheco for 20+ years. I have not had any negative experiences, only positive with him. He is very personable, patient and listens attentively to any concerns I discuss with him. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Pacheco is an excellent clinician, cares about his patients, and takes the time to listen to what I have to say. He is patient in answering any questions I may have and does not rush through the appointment. Best of all, he does not follow the long standing practice of many doctors who do not treat the patient as a partner in the treatment plan. Dr. Pacheco has always included me in the decisions on any changes/adjustments to the care plan

I waited weeks for a new patient appointment with this doctor. I arrived early, did my paperwork, paid my co-pay and gave my insurance card to the appropriate person. She was capable. I had my heart rate and blood pressure checked while the nurse took my history and my medications list. My appointment was for 10:30 am. The nurse quickly returned after checking my glucose meter. At 11:17 after nobody came in to tell me what was going on, I walked out. I was getting low and I became pissed off. I wanted my co-pay refunded, which they quickly did. I refused sugar/food help that was offered as I wanted nothing from this place. I told them I would rather die than accept help from them. I am a type 1 diabetic of 57 years. I know when I need help or when I have to get food. Dr. Pacheco and a helper were at my car in the parking lot offering me food/glucose. I told them NO. I got into my car and drove away. I went to Krystal. I got to burgers, a cheese burger and a small coke. I ate...putting lots of mustard on the burgers. I was in Krystal about10 minutes and finished up. I get into my car and see i missed a call from my older son. I return the call from the car while parked in a space out front. My son tells me the paramedics are at my residence about ten miles away. I tell him I am fine, as the food and cola got into my system and i was okay. In the next minute after I get off the phone with my son a sheriff's deputy (Nieves) approaches my car and starts checking me out. I tell him I am fine and the doctor was being an A hole, probably because he doesn't want to get sued. Only one time prior have I ever come across such lousy healthcare. Best Endocrinologist I’ve ever been to. He was more help than the many doctors I had wasted money on.

Dr Pacheco has been my Endocrinologist for over 15 years. He is one of the best doctors I have ever encountered. He is thorough, compassionate and very professional. I highly recommend him.

As someone in the medical field, I am disturbed that the office staff can make a doctor look bad when he is really great. I give excellent to make up for the people who blame the office when it is their fault or their mistake. This grading system is horrible!

Dr Pacheco was very polite and clear to understand. It took me several months to schedule my first appointment. I waited a very long time before he came in to see me. He was fast and straight to the point. Neither impressed or dissatisfied with him. I was dismissed from the practice because I did not book an annual exam, after I explained that my pregnancy was the reason. I was asked to write to the Dr asking to be seen. I disagree with their patient management and demeaning staff's attitude

I will recommend Dr. Carlos Pacheco's services to any person that has to live with diabetes. I am a diabetic myself and have been treated by Dr. Pacheco for over 20 years. EXCELLENT!!!
