Dr. Guggenheim takes the time needed to resolve my issues at every appointment. She has a wonderful listening ear and she worked with me for a very long time; her efforts and exceptional research allowed me to live my life with very little pain. She leans toward a more natural approach and prescribes medication when indicated. I truly appreciated not leaving with prescriptions in hand to " see if they help". I trust her explicitly.

Has been my rheumatologist for several years and has always communicated well, worked with my preference for conservative treatment whenever possible, never rushed a visit, and was the first doctor (including 2 other rheumatologists and 2 internists previously seen) who correctly diagnosed my constellation of autoimmune disorders. And yes, she really does not see persons who come with scented products on; it's clearly stated that will have to be the case if one shows up wearing one. Seems a reasonable request to me as otherwise how to avoid the ones she cannot tolerate?! There's a vast difference between a natural rose scent and the huge variety of other natural and artificial ones folks might be wearing (say I who am also terribly allergic to many scents myself...not including those roses).

Has a HORRIBLE bed-side manner, she's not a compassionate being, misdiagnose me with Lupus when LITERALLY everyone other dr I've seen, INCLUDING my primary doctor, confirming a different autoimmune disease. Don't wear any perfumes, colognes, etc because she will NOT see you and make you reschedule your appointment, she is allergic to certain smells, allegedly. However, I caught her smelling roses in the lobby. Hmmm...Okay. She never tried to make it comfortable for me during visits, she didn't try to learn me as a patient. Just overall, terrible. Do not recommend.

Terrible. Dx me on first impression without looking at my blood work referral from PCP. When she did run her own blood panel, she mis-dx me with one autoimmune disease even tough it's been confirmed by U Of M I actually have another. She didn't seem to know what she was doing, or how to deal with younger patients who aren't there for joint problems. Avoid.

Dr. Guggenheim is the only doctor who's been willing & able to help with my rare condition. I enjoy my visits to her office.
