Recently I had a vitrectomy performed by Dr. Cameron Javid on my right eye. Not being aware this procedure could be done I was very concerned that in fact my vision was disappearing forever. In April 2020 Dr. Javid had to do emergency surgery for a detached retina on my eye. It was done on an outpatient basis and I had to go by myself because of Covid19. Dr. Javid and his nurses took wonderful care of me. I never had a moment's worry because of them Thank you Dr. Javid and staff!

Very Fortunate and Grateful to have had Dr. Javid save my eyesight. Two large places of retinal detachment- vision reduced to a small hourglass shape containing eight (8) additional tears. He performed Expert vitrectomy and laser to the tears. I believe him to be a miracle worker under emergency parameters, and Dr. Javid's manner was humble, informative, calm and steady. His surgical expertise saved my eyesight. When consensus was I would be blind in this eye, I now see 20/25 with nearly full field of vision. The eye has a small area where the retina lost blood flow but is surgically in place where it should be. Dr. Javid performed a double vitrectomy and corrected a serious floater problem. The procedures went without any difficulties or complications. While Dr. Javid was doing the procedure, I was unaware that anything was even happening, and there was absolutely no pain involved. Dr. Javid made sure all my questions and concerns were addressed, before, during and after the procedure. Fortunately, I shouldn’t ever need to have a vitrectomy done again, but if I did, I would definitely have Dr. Javid do it. Had a macular detachment while visiting family out in Tucson. Dr Javid took me in immediately, correctly diagnosed the problem and, most importantly, performed a successful laser procedure immediately. I’m convinced he saved my eye sight that day. Now 4 years later all is still well. I remember he also had a great “bedside manner” during a particularly scary time in a city far from my home. Cudos to him and his staff on a job well done. Dr. Javid was an excellent choice for my eye surgery. I had PVD in both eyes and so far he performed a Vitrectomy on the right eye which was the worse one. He did a fantastic job! The surgery went very smooth and you don't feel a thing. You just have to put up with a bubble afterward which shrinks to nothing within a week. Only one pesky floater remains after 6 weeks and he wants to make sure the results are good and I'm completely happy before scheduling the left eye. I highly recommend Dr. Javid. Dr. Javid performed a victrectomy on my right eye in July of 2019. He was personable, thorough and professional The surgery was painless, the recovery time less than I expected.Needless to say, Dr. Javid did a great job, and my vision continues to improve. Dr. Javid is a true patient advocate. He had his office make an immediate appointment for an ultrasound, and as soon as he got the results, made an appointment with the appropriate Dr. to follow up. Dr. Javid saved my husbands life.

Dr. Javid is one of the best healthcare professionals I have ever encountered. He performed 2 vitrectomies at different times. He was reassuring and most importantly did not give me any unrealtistic expectations. He was very clear about what he expected of me as a recovering patient. The results have better than I expected. I was treated in a most compassionate manner. At every followup visit, his staff treated my wife and I as if we were family. I felt cared about.

As I understand Endophthalmitis time is of the essence in treatment to save the vision and the eye. In light of this very serious diagnosis I felt calm and confident that I was at the right place with the right person. My recovery has been exceptional and at this date I have 100% vision. I reacted quickly to the change in my vision, I contacted and was seen by my ophthalmologist immediately who moved me to Dr Javid immediately. He and his staff kept me informed and comfortable throughout the diagnosis process and the procedure. Everyone was professional and compassionate ( Marianna was especially kind and thorough) which gave me the opportunity to trust them and have faith my eye would heal. Follow-up appointments kept track of my vision recovery - I worked with 2 of Dr. Javid's partners and was comfortable with them as well however I have to say HE was my favorite. I am thankful for having these professionals available to me at such a frightening time.

Dr Javid has successfully restored my vision over 10 times in both eyes. I am grateful and extremely thankful!!

I came to Dr. Javid with a very severe eye infection I was seen as an unscheduled emergency. Dr Javid moved very quickly and had to perform many procedures on my eye I was scared to death. He calmly and respectfully explained to me the severity and what he was doing. Being in the medical field I know what my appt. did to his schedule. I had to see him every few days at 1st, and there were a few setbacks where I had to come in as an emergency. I was always treated well by him and all his staff. This was the scariest thing that has ever happened to me. Dr. Javid was always so patient with me and addressed all by concerns and questions. I never felt rushed. As my appointments continued and my eye was progressing, Dr. Javid would use humor to help me relax. I truly believe Dr. Javid saved my eyesight. Dr. Javid treated me for a significant retinal tear. It's pretty hard for me to overstate how impressed I've been with my patient experience. This is an outstanding practice. The staff is friendly and accommodating, competent & caring. Dr. Javid put me at ease & explained in detail what my condition was and the laser procedure I was about to undergo. He has answered all of my questions. I don't think I could have had a better team to treat my condition, nor a better outcome. I'm grateful!

After 3 years of progressing loss of sight, I was referred to Dr. Javid (not by my opthalmologist) He did tests that showed my existing macular degeneration to be "stable and dry". He said Retina Associates "leaves no stone unturned" and, because he felt my problem could be with the optic nerve, he sent me for a brain scan. When I got home he was already calling to let me know that there was a tumor. He recommended a neurosurgeon who operated - now my sight is great.

My condition has been monitored for more than 7 years. A recent transplant, back to Tucson, I sought a local specialist. I couldn’t be more pleased with Dr. Javid and his staff. Highly developed surgical skills, practiced in Tucson for 20+ years so his experience is invaluable in the area of "precious sight" surgeries. I had phase four (passed expectations of a good outcome) macular hole surgery May 2017. My September appointment revealed a definite improvement ! I have until May 2018 to LOOK for more improvement. Very knowledgeable doctors

Dr. Javid took care of my eye tumors, that 3 other eye doctors were not able to address. I drove from mesa to tucson to have my eyes taken care of by him, as I felt the most comfortable with his office, and his knowledge. I appreciated his straight forward approach, and communication.

I first saw Dr. Javid after becoming blind. He treated me and restored my eyesight within a couple of months after my previous retina specialist would do nothing for me. I would, and have, recommended Dr. Javid to anyone who is in need of seeing a doctor for treatment of their eyes. I have seen him for over 7 years and have been highly satisfied with Dr. Javid and his office staff.

My experience was raised to another level of medical merit. Dr. Javid must be one of the best Retina Specialists in the USA. All of his offices are beautifully constructed and decorated - including a coffee bar! The level of efficiency from every single person I encountered during my numerous visits was amazing. There are no long waits, no misrepresentations and no loose ends. He performed both my vitrectomy surgeries flawlessly. You can feel confident in his medical team.

My experience with the whole Retina Assoc. team was excellent, and with Dr. Javid he was beyond excellent....he was extraordinary. I was totally unprepared for his knowledge, exceptional skill and caring. He explained every procedure thoroughly and really cared about how the patient felt and the outcome. Dr. Javid and his staff are the most knowledgeable and efficient medical group we have ever dealt with.

Dr. Javid is efficient and professional. He truly cares about his patients and wants to improve their eyesight. Eyes are scary to trust to any doctor but I would recommend Dr. Javid to anyone who wants to see the world more clearly and save their sight.

For me, the first and most important consideration in selecting a healthcare professional, in this case a retinal specialist, is their clinical and surgical ability. I look for someone with relevant experience, who does a lot of the procedures in question and gets really good results.
