Believe all of it!!! From the rude front desk, to the horrible patient care and concern, and on top of that NO HELP. There is absolutely no good reason to come here, I’m not sure any of these people should be licensed.

Expect to spend a life time on hold fighting for refills for your child. As long as you have no life and infinite time to wait on hold and allow your child to go days without medication go for it!

The front staff has been more than accommodating each and every time I have called for an appt, help, questions, medication updates, etc. I have been going to this office for 15 years now. I have had MANY MANY times where the psychiatrist completely and utterly forgot about our appointment and said they would call me back and never did. OUTRAGEOUS!

Horrible experience. Had only 1 appointment. He did all the talking, then prescibed a medicine that caused a severe, psychotic, muscular reaction and emergency trip to the hospital. Did not respond to my calls, did not respond to emails. Cancelled the upcoming appointment and was available to reschedule 4 weeks later. Terrible office staff - basically rude. Difficult to make an appointment, does not relay emergencies to the doctor, just tells you to email him.

The older lady who answers the phone for the front desk is very unprofessional!! you work at a psychiatrist office dealing with patients who are already going through things and anxious and for the females who answer the phone that want to give attitudes & talk over you don’t deserve to work there. The young man in the front who answers the phone is the only one who is respectful. It sucks that I’m considering finding a new doctor because Dr. Evans is amazing and so are the other NP and therapist. Also if you see the phone ringing and it’s an hour before you close answer the phone I called multiple times within an hour of them closing , but you don’t want to answer the phone because you don’t want to deal with the patient ,it’s very unprofessional. AGAIN YOU ANSWER THE PHONE FOR THE DOCTORS PATIENTS WHO ALREADY ARE GOING THROUGH THINGS . I've been a patient with PCOA for approximately 10-12 years, on & off. My Dr. Evans, is very cool & he LISTENS to you!! He is very thorough, asking me questions about my current mental health & the Rx's he has prescribed me-If you need a medicine 'adjusted', he Tweeks it! He's an All-around Fantastic Dr.!!! Update:4-15-'22; Since COVID, his staff [just a few, not all the staff]-Answer the phone & IMMEDIATELY place you on a long hold...Why-they answer Dr. Evans phone sounding annoyed w\ his patients calling in! Patients remember; Front office staff MUST prioritize their personal lives, before us needy patients! I dread calling in to make an appointment, or ask a question/concern BC the hostility is ripe! I think the most difficult thing about this practice he has too many patients he’s overbooked therefore he doesn’t have the time to properly care for your concerns and needs. Appointments no matter how they provide it either in person or phoneis rushed and then staff does a poor Job of implementing his request or he is either not requesting what his patients need not sure where the breakdown is but a breakdown.

I am a patient here with Anna Wright. I had an appointment yesterday morning in which I was told she was sending my prescription to the pharmacy. The pharmacy still has not received it and after multiple calls to Psychiatric Consultants of Atlanta I have been told that Anna Wright has not sent the prescription in but is too busy meeting with other patients today to talk with me. Why is she meeting with other patients today when she has yet to fulfill her obligations to a patient from yesterday? Why is she sitting on a patient's prescription after hearing that the patient is going through a serious depressive episode and is beginning to experience withdrawals from his inability to get the prescription filled sooner? You'd think this would be a priority but apparently not. These actions show a clear disregard for the actual well-being of their patients. I am willing to change this review if you would just please do your job so that I don't have to continue experiencing SSRI withdrawals because of your staff's complete lack of compassion and human decency. ****DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME YOU WILL BE ANGRY AND VERY ANGRY WITH THIS PLACE*** If I could give no star I would after over a year with this place I thought I would exercise some patience and give them a try first off let's say the office staff is the worst ever they lack basic medical professionalism and I believe they are family and friends because nobody could be so rude, unprofessional, lack humility, and know nothing about taking care of patients. If you are in need of medical you better not call here you will die because nobody will call you back and I mean nobody. I left messages for the office manager who never returned the call. I sent emails to the doctor who said to email since this hasn't been the first time NOBODY called back and still no response to emails or nothing this is clearly about MONEY!!! The issues go on and on scheduled appointments are provided using AM when the appointment is a PM no expression of humility for their mistakes just rude and disgusting. My son has a medication that needs the doctors authorization I was first told their fax machine was broke then after receiving no call back I was told it would take 4 days. HOW DOES IT TAKE 4 DAYS FOR A DOCTOR TO FAX A AUTHORIZATION TO A PHARMACY????This place is a true joke and regardless of how you may want to support this business I would say don't do it this is sad to say the least. Nobody cares here except for running 1000 patients through their billing system so they can CHARGE your insurance if you need to go here out of being desperate please look for a reliable doctor and a office staff with some common sense. I've been a patient of doctor Evans for About 3 years now. He is Absolutely Amazing!! He takes his time with you, genuinely cares and is very understanding! Dr. Evans really knows his medications as well. I was trying to taper off a Medication that was not working. My neurologist tried for approximately a year and then referred me to a psychiatrist who also tried for about a year. Everything they tried to do did not work. However, Dr. Evans got me off the medication within about a month to a month 1/2 and I had no withdrawal symptoms. I highly recommend him and if I could give him a 10 star rating I would! I only trust 2 doctors with my life and Dr. Evan's is now one of them!! It's very hard and rare to find a doctor like him as most doctors rush through your visits to move on to the next patient. When browsing for a psychiatrist in ATL do yourself a favor and don't even bother with these people. Even if you like the care you receive, it is worth it to find an equivalent elsewhere because the front office/desk of this place is that incompetent. They are the worst I have ever experienced in my life for any doctor/dentist/car mechanic/mcdonalds etc.. You call them they act like you're inconveniencing them, I have waited weeks for them to send a simple approval to my insurance company to fill a prescription, but if you ever owe them any $$ they're plenty communicative then! The on call staff is extremely abrupt and unkind. I had accidentally enabled do not disturb mode on my phone and missed my much-needed appointment for a prescription refill. They also called early and I was in another meeting. I called back as soon as I realized what happened, but my call was not returned that day. I called again the following day and my call was not returned. I finally reached someone at 9pm and they told me I was counted as a no show and that I needed to call back again tomorrow for the third day in a row and schedule another appointment. Also, they called early for my appointment and I was in another meeting at the time. Anyway, I will not be returning to this place- for somewhere that strives to serve people with psychological needs, the folks who answer the phone need to be better trained in trauma informed care, patience and general professionalism. Unfortunately you have to leave at least one star. I’m writing this so no other patient seeking help will have to go through what we just went through. Let me first say, if you can’t deal with someone’s anxiety, anything related to concussions, sleep disturbances & depression...psychiatry is not for you. You don’t belong in this field. The last place people want to go and be disregarded and disrespected is a psychiatry office. Sort of defeats the purpose. I pray that the nurse practitioner who handled our appt never has a loved one go through what my loved one is going through. She was rude, hostile, dismissive with 0 compassion. I’m 100% positive that she should not be helping patients at a psychiatry office. How dare you treat patients this way. Patients who are looking for help and understanding. I will let the Concussion Legacy Foundation know that this is not the office to refer patients to. It’s time for patients to be heard and I pray that no one sends their loved ones here because you are the problem. Not the patients.

I have been a patient of Dr. Evans for approximately 3 year's now. He was a Godsend to me to say the very least! Dr. Evans takes his time with me and does not try to rush through my appointments to move onto his next patient as most doctor's today do. He is all about the one on one and genuinely cares about his patients! Dr. Evans and my primary care doctor are the only two doctor's that I would Fully Trust with my life. It is extremely hard to find a good, caring and patient-centered doctor. I was placed on a medication off label for severe chronic insomnia and for over two years worked with my neurologist then a psychiatrist, specialists at Emory and went to The Mayo Clinic. I was trying to discontinue this medication due to it's ineffectiveness but no one was able to do so due to the side effects. When I found Dr. Evans he was able to discontinue this medication within 1 - 1 1/2 months. This man definitely knows his medicines and I highly recommend him!!

The assistance I have received by Dr Evans has helped but the lack of calls for follow-ups and leaving it up to the patients to schedule medication refills without a reminder is what is prompting me to give this 2 star review. The young man who answers the phone is very abrupt, I just got off the phone with him and he made me feel like not making an appointment and getting my prescription refilled 2 weeks prior was my fault even though I told him no one made an effort to atleast reach out to me either. A better effort needs to be made to reach out to clients and remind them to make an appt. My last visit was Nov 3rd, I had 3 deaths in my family since then and now, and a wedding of my own to plan (how dare I forget to make an appt or get my prescription refilled 2 weeks prior) a gentle reminder would have been nice, I received no such thing. If you suffer from any type of anxiety, attention or depressive related disorder, do your mental health a huge favor and run. I’m reporting this practice and the practitioners for incompetence, malpractice and medically unethical behavior. The only ray of light from this practice is meeting my soul-psych, who is an absolute godsend! Of course, someone phenomenal wouldn’t continue working with such a deplorable practice and she took her talents elsewhere (AS SIS SHOULD’VE) — However, did this practice provide her forwarding information? No. They REFUSED to provide HER patient with HER forwarding contact information. Their solution, another provider — Earl Delk. Mental healthcare professionals like Earl should be vetted before being allowed to work with patients. As a black woman, I absolutely hate speaking negatively on another person of color, buuut honey... Earl is the stereotypical black man who doesn’t listen to hear, he listens to answer. Is your answer too long? He will cut you off and answer for you. An initial evaluation will cost full price and will be documented as a ‘41-minute appointment’, BUT will last all of ELEVEN MINUTES. Yes, within ELEVEN MINUTES, Earl Delk is able to do a COMPLETE INITIAL EVALUATION. Ohhh, and you’ll never guess the MOST MEDICALLY UNETHICAL conclusion... EARL DELK will CHANGE your medication WITHOUT your KNOWLEDGE, APPROVAL or CONSENT. Earl Delk will confirm your current medication, confirm your pharmacy and alter the prescription that is sent to the pharmacy. Logically, the first thing you’ll do is call the office to get an answer as to why you medication was changed without your consent, right? Well, good luck! The receptionist, Catherine, is the literal reincarnation of MTV’s Daria. Let me ask you — would you want to interact with Daria whenever it came to your mental health? I wouldn’t. Her voice, tone and entire demeanor scream “I hate my job. I hate my life and I’m tired of dealing with these crazy patients who have mental health issues! Don’t they know I’m checking my Instagram! Ugh.” I don’t know if she actually delivers the messages, but they won’t get returned. Want to speak with the practice manager? Apparently, there isn’t one at the moment and DR. BRYON EVANS is “handling those things”. Will he return your phone calls? No. Will he attempt to rectify the situation? No. But you know what he will do??? He will falsify appointment notes and documents to refute to any dispute filed with your bank. Once you request dispute documents from your bank and see the false information, the first inclination would be to call the practice and get some answers, right? DR. BRYON EVANS WILL ONLY SPEAK WITH YOU IF YOU SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AT FULL PRICE!!! Anyone seeking mental healthcare should avoid this practice like the plague.

Dr. Evans is great, but his front desk is horrendous. I've been calling about my prescription for days and the front desk woman puts me on hold and hangs up every time. I call back and she recognizes my number and sends me to voicemail. Now I have no medication, on a verge of a panic attack because they refuse to send the prescription to the pharmacy. No one is returning my call, and not picking up when I call. At this point I'm going to cancel all of my appointments and find someone else, the front desk is just adding to my declining mental health. It's sad that people like this work in the mental health industry.

I second the previous person about Tracy Evans. She is very rude. She is charging my son the full amount of $125 and not the co-pay of $45 he should be responsible for. She then reported the payment made to the insurance company of $45 and not the actual $125 he paid. If, as you told me Tracy, he has to meet his deductible, why didn't you show is $125 payment? You didn't record the payment as $125 so you would not show an amount due back to the patient for overpayment and make an extra $80 for the office. I have the claim Tracy, I know what you are doing. I will be writing a letter to you, return receipt, with a copy of the claim and a request for the $80 over payment from July and the $80 overpayment for the 11/21/18 appointment. Thank you for the answer. The question needs to be answered why didn't you report the entire $125 payment to the insurance company. lf I did need to meet a deductible, you should at least report the correct payment amount made to your office, which you did not. You are an in network doctor and contracted to charge the amount allowed by insurance. It is clearly states on the insurance card you have on file the amount you should charge and is backed up by the claims information or the July appointment and will be confirmed for the appointment today. I hope others will see this email and review their insurance claims with your office for incorrect billing and payments made to your office. I second the previous person about Tracy Evans. I was extremely disappointed with my experience with Dr. Evans. Based on my experience, I believe this practice is based only on prescription medication management and not comprehensive psychiatric care. I brought my daughter to see Dr. Evans after our current doctor closed her practice. We arrived early and the office staff was friendly and polite. I believe that the initial reception was a bit of a façade. Even though we were scheduled for what I thought was the first appointment after lunch, we waited for at least 45 minutes to see the doctor. It appears as if there was only one doctor, and the practice schedules multiple patients for the same time slot. After waiting for about 30 minutes, a women (either a NP or a PA)) came into the waiting room asking “Is there anyone who would like to be seen?” I was a bit baffled at her question. We would not be there if we did not want to see a doctor. The woman clarified her statement asking if there was anyone stable on their current medication, and only needed refills. It seemed extremely unprofessional to ask patients to publically disclosed this information in a doctor's waiting room. The practice was going to squeeze in these patients between other appointments. It reminded me of a Disney Fast Pass system. After waiting 45 minutes past our appointment time, we spend a total of 14 minutes with the doctor. During that time, he only asked only superficial questions, confirming information that I already provided in his on-line intake form. He quickly wrote months of prescriptions for my daughter’s current medicines, and sent us on our way. This seemed shocking curt for a new patient intake. As we left, I noticed that the number of people in the waiting room continued to grow. We will not be coming back. I believe that my daughter deserve better more holistic care than what Dr. Evans is providing. If you are looking simply for a prescription management service, other than not being respectful of your time, this practice seem fine. If you are looking for something more, I’d recommend that you look elsewhere. I was extremely disappointed with my experience with Dr. Evans. Dr. Evans is professional and knowledgeable. I've been a patient of his for 12 years. I'm 67 and had depression for 50 years. I've seen a lot of psychiatrist and there is a reason why I've been going to him for as long as I have. Yes, he is a busy man with a busy practice, but there is a reason why he's busy. He's really good! He cares, listens, and doesn't try to rush you out the door like other psychiatrists do. He takes the time with you to help you. Sometimes this means his appointments run over and wait times can be 30 minutes, but he's worth the wait. I would prefer someone who is going to spend the time to listen and understand than to run me through like a pill mill. If you want a quality psychiatrist who is intelligent, knowledgeable and caring, see Dr. Evans. I've referred four of my family members and they are still patients of his after seven years. They still rave about him and happy that I referred them to him. Dr. Evans is professional and knowledgeable. I've been a patient of his for 12 years. I'm 67 and had depression for 50 years. I was in Riverwoods from 5/1-5/16/2018. I came in from Emory without a provisional diagnosis; rather, I had a definitive diagnosis of schizophrenia. Three weeks later, Dr. Evans still had a dx of schizophrenia. I begged him & his A.P.R.N. asst to contact my V.A. Pschiatrist in Hilo, HI but they never did. I does not take long to see I AM NOT schizophrenic. Also Dr. Evans, after my 72 hour hold DENIED me MY RIGHT to go before a PROBATE JUDGE in Clayton County. My incorrect dx coupled with the FACT he & his asst refused to contact my V.A. psychiatrist shows incompetence on his and her part. I am also a MASTERS DEGREE mental health professional.

Dr. Evans is a gentle genius... he is kind and reassuring, while also extremely knowledgeable. Few years ago, I turned to him at a time when I was desperate for help... after my first appointment, I felt a sense of relief that I had found a doctor that would listen and that wouldn't give up until we'd come to a solution. Not long after our first appointment, I was feeling much better and saw him regularly for several years. He is one of the few doctors I've found that I actually trust with my life!

First, my son was prescribed a medicine way too strong for his size and weight. I thought that was the case but after further research I did find this to be true. I spoke with others about their experience with this particular drug and more than one said that they felt suicidal as a side effect of this medication. Then the other medication was not his insurance's formulary. I left a voicemail with the office over the weekend about this. There aren't enough characters remaining to get into every incidence but suffice it to say that I waited almost all week to get a response about writing a new prescription that would be covered even with me emailing the front office the formulary. I was told more than once that the prescription had been called in and it never materialized after many more communication attempts. We found another doctor and my son had his prescription that same day of our visit. We saw the nurse practitioner Taren Lazzari. No prescription, no returned call, etc. Horrible.

My son was a recent patient with Dr. Evans. On a followup visit, he prescribed a change in his medication dosage and made an error in writing the prescription. The pharmacy told me to have him fax a corrected prescription but Dr. Evans' office made us come to the office to pick up the prescription. His front office staff kept telling us that we were next to be seen by the doctor. After waiting over an hour, we left in frustration. Dr. Evans' office staff is terrible and could care less.

I am a patient of Dr. Evans for over 2 years and while he is an amazing psychiatrist, his wife and office manager receptionist is a NIGHTMARE to work with. I have personally found her to be rude to the point of bringing me to tears on nearly every visit I have had since Dr. Evans started his own practice in Perimeter and gave his wife a position of power. I am out of medications 6 days now of my Klonopin and Zoloft my anti-depressantant and have left 12 messages for Dr. Evans that I need MEDICATION REFILLS asap as I am now having WITHDRAWALS from these medications prescribed for me to take by Dr Evans and his wife not only refused to make my monthly appointment, but said her husband was no longer my doctor today, and I was welcome to sue. Which is just amazing to me. I have sent Dr. Evans 15 emails, made 11 pages, all of which his wife and office manager is DELETING so my pen doctor Does not realize I am in DISTRESS. I happen to be one of his few Medicare patients out of mostly private insurance paying clientele now and I do feel discriminated against by his wife. I AM BIPOLAR, with a SEVERE ANXIETY DISORDER, PTSD, and am the author of the Amazon YA ebook bestseller "Mulatto Daughter of America". Being off the above 2 meds for 6 days now has me terrified of having a stroke or heart atrack from cold detox of 2 strong meds and my own doctor would not do this to me but his WIFE AND OFFICE MANAGER CAN AND IS. Wait until he gets a real professional or you could be me.
