Dr. Bryan Murtaugh

Dr. Murtaugh did a quick review of my MRI and determined that I needed shots in my facet joints despite getting no relief from similar treatments done by other doctors. When I reported that the shots that he administered were completely ineffective, he suggested that I schedule another appointment to get a diagnosis! My major concern, however, is with the MedStar facility that he uses. He and I agreed in my appointment that I would not use anesthesia. However, while being prepped for the shots, an anesthesiologist and an assistant arrived to get me ready for anesthesia! I explained that I had arranged for no anesthesia, and confirmed that I would not use anesthesia. Despite getting no anesthesia I was billed about $500 for the services of the anesthesiologist and assistant. I tried for months to dispute this baseless charge, but finally paid it to avoid further disputes with MedStar.

Excellent physician. Listened and worked with me to eliminate back and leg pain from a pinched nerve. Performed a series of epidurals over a period of months which completedly eliminated pain that I endured for over a year. Prior to Dr Murtaugh's treatment I was unable to stand more than 2 minutes without nauseating pain. I was restricted from normal daily activities including grocery shopping, cooking and house cleaning. My husband was burdened with all that I could no longer perform.

Very professional. I had a complex hip procedure he was excellent no pain. Excellent follow up regarding pain management. I would Highly!! recommend this doctor. I was nervous, I would have this done again with Dr. Murtaugh at Medstar Lafayett Center Physiatry Clinic in a heart beat. They were great

Dr. Murtaugh made me feel comfortable and at ease. He was friendly and courteous and explained the procedures to me to help me understand exactly what was going on with my shoulder and back. I really feel that I'm going to get some relief.

These high ratings are baffling. He was kind of a jerk and only half-listened to what I was saying. This is after waiting 3+ weeks for an appointment. He did not take time or care in explaining his recommendations either. When I pushed for more information, he sped through 2-3 exercises, but none of this was printed or given to me at the end of the visit. His resident is nice and at least listened to what I was saying.

My experience has been excellent so far. I have not experience any back pain since the injections.

Since I've been treated by Dr. Murtaugh, I have had a dramatic improvment from steroid injections and exercise. I have no pain in the back or especially the lower back area. I am thankful for the success of the treatment. I will recommend Dr. Murtaugh to any relatives and associates that has back problems.

Dr Murtaugh has been very helpful

For the first time in a number of yeas, I have no pain in my hand thanks to Dr. Murtaugh. He is an excellent physician.

He was extremely clear and thorough, and he got me in for an appointment quickly.

The best ever

I would readily recommend Dr. Murtaugh. His exams are thorough, which instills confidence in his conclusions. He is clear and concise in his explanations, and generally a pleasure to interact with.

He is the best Doctor I ever met. He cares his patient o much. He spends time as much as needed for you to understand the reason and gives you the best treat. I believe he did a magic for me during last months that I was his patient. After accident that I had last year and caused concussion, I had extremely pain in my shoulder and head and he changed my life after a year. He's the best, so kind and really professional.

Dr. Murtaugh is very generous and understanding. He provides the best medical care.

Dr. Murtaugh has been a god send regarding my pain management. He has a wealth of knoweledge that he always make time for me to share. Me being on Medicaid was a huge concern for me. I felt that doctors would look down on people like me and make me feel like nuisance...never with Dr. Murtaugh

Dr. Murtaugh is patient and takes time to listen to your problem. He is familiar enough with his field that he can diagnose exactly what is wrong with you from your description of the painful area. I have never felt rushed, he is always courteous.

He very profesional and i have recomend many people to him. He has change my life with the treament plan he has made for me has enhance my quaity of life. I will always sennd people to him.

He very professional and he very funny. He talk with you and make sure you understand. He make sure that you are working your plan to help you regain your quality of life. He not bad to look at either. I would recommend anyone.

His secretary said there were no appointments with other doctors for a month. But I called the MedStar general number to find out there was a doctor available, from the same practice, within a week. Later on, his secretary recognized that they don't like people changing doctors, which is unacceptable when you have incapacitating pain!
