My son was taken to this hospital after an accident. Dr. Simon is in charge of the Trauma ICU unit. It took 2.5 days, a request to see him, and a complaint before he called me because I was tired and left since it took him all day. First thing he said was “ Why do you need to speak with me couldn’t my PA answer all your questions?” This is a teaching hospital and I guess he teaches rudeness and lack of communication. UMASS should not have a physician in charge of a unit like this.

While he may be tecnically capable, Dr. Simon's bedside manner and ability to show compassion to people losing a loved one leaves a lot to be desired. I hope that no other family experiences the pain this doctor inflicted on my family. He threw a temper tantrum and stormed out of the room.
