The guy got me hooked on dope and never helped me get off them. This doctor if you want to call him that is a terrible person. He gets you hooked on dope and he doesn't care as long as you pay his bill. Look around, there are better pain management doctors.

Dr. Mackey is very thorough and listens to what you say. He is supportive and understands never-ending pain. I think most of the negative posts come from drug-seeking people. We live in a new world and legal pain management is part of our new way of life. I applaud Dr. Mackey and his staff for their level of care.

Everyone here is very professional. I have had Dr Sam do 2 khylopasty procedures and I am very pleased with the outcome I have been coming here for over 8 years never had any problems.

If you happen to have a medical marijuana card do not and I repeat do not come here.

They took my $300 gave me a prescription then a week later they said I failed a drug test, which is impossible they did not provide me with a taper and I just saw the letter on Saturday. I have Addison’s disease and the sudden stopping of my medication will probably put me in The hospital. I would avoid going to this place. They say they are Christians but they do not practice what they preach.

I had a referral sent over because he was said to be a good pain management doctor. Well when I called about my referral his nurse stated he wouldn’t take me as a patient and have no reason. When I asked to speak with him his secretary stated “He’s a physician, he’s not gonna talk to you.” I said I would come down and we could talk man to man, his secretary then stated I would not be allowed in the building. No integrity or care for people who are truly suffering with miles of paperwork of chronic pain. Completely judgmental, and based on what? Wouldn’t even talk to me, what kind of pain management doctor does this, let alone what kind of man won’t speak his reasoning. Not a man in my book, integrity comes with a price he is not willing to pay. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone, unless you want to be judged without even being seen or talked to. Plenty more pain management docs that actually care for people, don’t pick and choose and show favoritism.

Very professional staff very helpful. They were on top of everything and called me in advance to know where my CPAP machine is and everything I would recommend the service.

My family member has received care at this clinic for over a year. We have been treated with the utmost respect. We are asked at every visit if we are satisfied with the current treatment plan and adjustments are made whenever needed. In regards to masking, all of the doctors connected to my family members care require masking and not one, including Dr. Mackey's office has ever asked us for money when we forgot our mask. I would highly recommend Dr. Mackey or any of the medical professionals that share his office.

They work hard to keep the appointments on time but also spend adequate time with us on every visit. Since we have a steady treatment plan with minimal changes they are able to get us in and out fairly quickly which we appreciate. The receptionists and all those involved in my family members care are kind, understanding and professional. Called today -- answering machine voice mail said "if you're getting this message- we're busy- call back later" (wish I had a job where I could do that)

My mother has been compliant chronic pain patient with Don Bacon approx 30 years. She takes promethazime 25 mg twice daily prn nausea. This gave a false positive for methamphetamine 2/15/22. Dr. Mackey fired her as a patient without considering government article of false positive. Pub med.gov article stated promethazime can give false positive methamphetamine results.

I would personally not suggest or recommend this office, not even for rodents because even rodents deserve better care than what this place offers. I had the opportunity to meet this alleged Dr, Dr Mackey on 2 occasions and thank the Lord I was able to find a new Dr very soon after walking away from his alleged practice. When a Dr gets mad and offended because you seek a second opinion, there is something majorly wrong there. I believe his office should be investigated by Aetna, Insurance Commission, Medicare, Medicaid, BC/BS, any and all insurance companies. SHAME ON DR MACKEY !!!!!! Do not use this doctor. He does not give one darn about his patients. All he cares about is the money. A few members of his staff are dishonest. He also lies about your medication. He will put you on meds and then cut you off. I never once failed a ua or abused my medication. Yet he took the lies of one staff member and kicked me out then led about sending in my meds to get me through until I find a new provider. And he won't give you a referral to another doctor. I am now having to lose my job because I cannot work without my meds. Sad I now will not graduate with my MBA because I will be too sick from the pain and the withdrawals. But he does not care. I have been seeing Dr. Mackey about three months and I have no complaints so far. Others here posted Dr. Mackey doesn’t spend enough time with them but you have to realize they are too busy and really only get about ten or fifteen minutes per patient. Any doctor not just a pain doctor. Some said you only see PA instead of doctor and as for my experience I’ve always seen the doctor with a PA or nurse. Dr. Mackey is very pleasant and actually added a pain patch that I was a little skeptical about but it has helped me quite a bit and it was really a smart idea in a lot of ways. Dr. Mackey is very knowledgeable about Oklahoma opioid laws and very knowledgeable about different ways to treat pain. He sent me to see Dr. Sam for a consult who I just loved! His office is well run and for the most part everyone is friendly when greeting you. I have never had any issues with anyone in his office. I have been misunderstood before which was probably just me not being clear which if I’m in pain that day I can’t think clear when nerve pain is attacking me. His staff has been very patient with me because sometimes it’s hard for me to get a urine sample for them since I had my sleeve surgery even at home sometimes it takes me awhile. The nurse said ok we can do a mouth swab which was a relief! They were very patient and kind which I appreciated. Anyway like I said it’s only been a few months but everyone is very professional and they keep his office running very well. I’m also seeing a surgeon at the OKC Spine Hospital and he offered up that Dr. Mackey is a very good knowledgeable pain doctor! That made me feel more confident with Dr. Mackey. Also I have looked at every comment here and it’s very reassuring to see so many patients who have stayed with Dr. Mackey for so many years! Quite a few have been with him ten plus years! Dr. Mackey is the best! He diagnosed a serious problem I had that several other doctors had missed. He is a really nice person and always has time to listen. Would highly recommend Dr. Mackey.

I love the professionalism of this facility. Excellent from receptionist to physicians , PA’s and nursing staff. As do all pain management physicians, they adhere to the laws and regulations of The State of Oklahoma. If you are currently on pain medication from another physician or have your MMC card, it will be up to the physicians discretion to accept you as a patient. You would transfer from your current physician and give up your MMC. You may not utilize both pain medication and Marijuana. Since your are the responsibility of this practice, they must abide by laws, statues and regulations when it comes to your care. This is not only for their sake but yours as well. This practice would never prescribe or force you to follow their recommendations. But they do suggest you , at times for further studies. Since pain medications alter your alertness, motor skills as well as sleep, you may be asked to take a sleep study evaluation. This is for yours and your physicians safety. I would highly recommend this facility to manage uncontrolled pain. If you have a problem with being closely monitored and managed when it comes to your pain management then this facility has a zero tolerance for insubordination, it’s to your best interest and your physician’s to do so. If you complain for such care, then don’t waist your time or theirs, because they are busy treating other patients that follow this practices rules and regulations and required studies for managed pain control. I have been a patient of Dr. Mackey’s for 16 years. I’m always greeted with the upmost kindness and professionalism by him and his staff. They’re going to go above and beyond to ensure that you have the best care possible. I’m certain that Dr. Mackey saved my life and here’s why. I had seen multiple specialist just hoping to get some pain relief to no avail. When I saw Dr. Mackey he made certain that I had access to all the information needed to help myself. I was depressed, and fatigued from fighting chronic pain. Dr. Mackey knee that I needed help and made sure that I received it. He sent me for therapy both physical and mental to obtain the tools I needed to fight back. If you’re fighting chronic pain, you understand what I’m saying. Fighting chronic pain is exhausting and without the proper treatment you can feel hopeless. I have had multiple surgeries and he was there to help me. I’m getting ready for another back surgery next week and he has made certain that I’m prepared to fight through the pain. This Dr. does not need your business. Arrived early on hot day (93 that day). Called # to say I was in parking lot. Per COVID procedure for this office staff came out to read temperature with temporal scanner - 107.6 degrees!! OK I'm in older car with weak AC, let's try again - 108.2 LOL! I'm told I can't be seen today. What? I am fine - do you have another type of thermometer that isn't affected by ambient air temp? If I truly had a temp of 108 wouldn't I be dead or convulsing?? Or maybe I should be instructed to get to the Emergency Room? Nope. Against my nature I decided to drive home and come back in newer vehicle. Now I'm 20 min late & used more gas but figure that would be normal wait anyway. This time the nice nurse/admin gets a 97.8 normal reading and relays that info inside. After 5 more minutes I get called back and asked if I can reschedule and come back in week. Really? NO. What kind of Dr. office can't even come up with an 'in the ear' or 'under the tongue' thermometer?

Dr. Mackey is an extremely efficient, careful doctor. I have been his patient for several years. We have tried different approaches to help me with a collapsing spine, congenital scoliosis in my advanced age. I am very comfortable in his presence and trust his judgement. His associates are equally professional. I do know he will not prescribe drugs unless they are necessary. I think some of the negative reviews may be patients who feign pain just to get a opioid script.

Outstanding practice. I was sent to Dr. Mackey when my regular pain management doctor closed his practice. It is the very best thing that could of happened. I needed my pain medicine pump refilled. During the consult they asked how long I had the pain in my left leg. I advised them over 9 years, several doctors had told me if was nerve pain from my back injury. It took the PA pushing his thumb on it to tell me it was not nerve pain it was bursitis. He advised he could take care of it. My next appointment, a short 3 days later my pump refilled and a couple of shots in my leg and WOW, no pain for the first time in the longest time. I received a call from him the next day to check up on me, that is impressive. I have nothing but great things to say about the staff, these people are very professional and caring. Be truthful with them, they need to know what your dealing with so they can help.

I would not recommend this practice.

This is the worst pain management clinic I have ever seen. Even when you ask to see the doctor instead of PA, you can’t. The notes they put in your records are nowhere close to the actual discussion you had with any one of them. I certainly believe Medicare should be notified of their practices.

I have been going to Dr. Mackey for a few months. I love him, his PAs, and staff. He is very kind and understanding and listens. I totally recommend this doctor and should you get to visit with his PAs you will be treated just as if you were visiting with him. I can't imagine anyone in this office being rude or mean.

I’ve been with Dr. Mackey, for 12 years. They have been amazing and very patient with me. From the receptionists to the Dr., everyone is extremely kind and They are pro-active in staying current, on the latest advancements, in the treatment of pain management. I’m so thankful for them.

When I started to see Dr. Mackey, I was in a wheelchair for over 3 years from severe chronic pain - idiopathic small fiber neuropathy. Because of Dr. Mackey and his office who are all world class professionals, I’m out of the chair and able to handle my pain and live my life much more normally. They helped me to get into the Mayo Clinic Pain Rehabilitation Center and get my life back. Their office has consistently gone above and beyond in dealing with insurance to keep our cost as low as possible saving me big money over the years. Fear of retribution prevents me from saying much more. I was able to hold off additional studies while securing a different doctor. I felt a little blackmailed by Mackey and his PAs, but I was one of the lucky ones who found a way out.

The entire staff is very compassionate and caring. Excellent and professional patient care. I feel comfortable with the care and drug screening process upon each monthly visit to manage chronic pain. If you have an issue being drug screened then you need to find another physician.

They understand chronic pain, and do their very best to make sure their patients get the best management of their pain as safely as possible! I was Dr Mackey patient 4 yrs ago. He was my pain doctor for 4 yrs, never had any issues. He managed my pain quite well. After I lost my ins, I had to move and hated losing him and his awesome staff. Only saw him about every 6th visit. Spent less than 5 minutes with me. Sent me a statement that over charged me nearly $500. I showed them their error but would not refund my money.

I got a speech from him, was told I was not getting drugs (even though I never asked for any) and then he walked out. I paid $64 for nothing. I didn't even get to speak. Didn't even get the opportunity to ask about an electronic box a friend had under his skin that he swore by. This by far was the most disrespectful doctor I have ever met. EVER. Keep away from this doctor. He only wants your money.

Do not go to this man. He will leave you without medication. He will no not reschedule. He will get up and walk out of the office while you're still talking. I have never been treaded so disrespectfully by a doctor in my life.

I’ve been with the office of Dr. Mackey several months, and am impressed with the high level of care, expertise and professionalism. It is truly helpful and reassuring knowing that whether a person is managing chronic pain, post-surgical pain, or both simultaneously, they are there to help you get through it in the best, and safest way for you as an individual. If anyone needs a place with excellent care, and is willing to put in the effort outside the office to help with what you can control (good nutrition, gentle exercise, good sleep habits and positive thinking), I believe that together as a team, a successful plan can be achieved. I’ve seen Jamie several times, and he is so compassionate and very knowledgeable. Awesome doctor. Dr. Mackey, his two Physician Assistants, nurses, and other supporting staff are courteous, kind, friendly, thorough, and care deeply about their patients. Their problem solving skills are unmatched. The office runs smoothly and efficiently, with short waiting times, and plenty of time available for patient visits. I may well die today and if I do it will be Dr Bruce Mackeys fault. I've seen him for a long time. At my last appointment he said he would no longer see me. He was concerned mostly about my ability to pay him. My husband had come to think him the same as a drug dealer. He left me with no medications, Ihave a broken back, Its a TERRIBLE time to have be with no pain medicine. The local ER can not give meds, so after 19 years on the same meds I may well die or have a stroke. I was left with no plan

Dr. Mackey and his staff are amazing. They have given me my life back. They have several rules that their patients are required to follow, but these common sense rules make for an honest Dr/Patient relationship and successful treatment plans. They take time to listen, teach, and discuss treatment options. Everything they do is in the patient's best interest. I have a huge amount of respect for everyone in his office. He has earned my complete trust.

The support STAFF cares NOTHING about their patients!!! I have been waiting for OVER A MONTH for them to fill out and fax back a simple form that my pharmacy faxed to them OVER A MONTH AGO and that they REQUIRE before they can fill my prescription!!! I have CALLED THEM REPEATEDLY kindly requesting that they call me back or to PLEASE CALL my pharmacy or fax the form back!! But after over A MONTH....THEY HAVE YET TO FOLLOW THROUGH!!! They HAVE NOT even been professional or polite enough to call me with an explanation, a follow through, or heaven forbid...an apology!! (I'm guessing another reason they are rated so poorly on "healthgrades" and "ratemds" and "Webmd"!!!) I have been Dr Mackey's monthly patient for MANY YEARS!!! EVERY TIME I have called them I have told them I am OUT of my MEDICINE that I must have to function daily!! It is NOT even a PAIN medicine and there has NEVER been any sort of 'abuse' of the med or of any others!! Heaven forbid IF it was a pain med!! I would either be in the HOSPITAL or DEAD by now!!! Obviously THEY DO NOT CARE!!! If this is the way they treat their ESTABLISHED, REGULAR, LONG TIME patients, I hazard to guess how poorly they treat the new ones!!! (I must add that even tho I RARELY see Dr Mackey (ONLY see the PAs), he and the PAs have always been nice.) PLUS...they are notorious for running VERY EXPENSIVE lab tests on a REGULAR basis!!! Even WITH INSURANCE I am out of pocket HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS....SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR!!! This is ridiculous, especially for one on a low fixed income!! And once when I was SICK WITH THE FLU and VOMITING and I had to cancel (for the FIRST TIME EVER after YEARS of being a patient)!!! Next time I was in, they had the nerve to charge me $50 since I had to cancel!!! I got sick overnight and even CALLED THEM that morning to tell them...and it was a late afternoon appointment!!! The ONLY TIME in all of the YEARS I have been a patient that I had to cancel and they charge me $50!!!! (I don't care how sick you may be....come in anyway and EXPOSE THEM TO WHATEVER you have to NOT get charged!!!) Obviously they are ONLY in it for the money and NOT FOR CONCERN FOR THEIR PATIENTS!!! Dr Mackey was a good, caring doctor to begin with. Then he got 2 PA's and saw me 2 times a year. I don't care what they say, You can not KNOW a patient if you don't see them. I have many health problems that I was continually seeking help and answers for. In 2015, the Dr and his Pa's, all changed their attitude with me. They did not care what drs I was seeing or what problems I was having. They were rude and accusitory. 2016, I had to change my insurance to medicare and medicaid, they immed. began cutting my med.s down each time I came in, bc I could not wear a c-pap mask. I tried new mask's many times. My face and sinuses were so inflamed I couldn't touch them. 2 months in a row, Mackey walked out of the exam room & down the hall, YELLING at me! Saying I wouldn't wear it & I just want drugs...He won & finally drove me away. 2 months later I discovered I had a brain anuerysm behind my right eye!!! 4 months later found out I have an auto immune disease, both causing all the inflammation. He put on my perm. records that I would not comply, to cover his butt. (and he is pain manag.not c-pap manag) He humiliated me to get me to leave. I don't care what the dr is talking about, walking down the hall, talking, yelling about my private issues, real or not, is the most unprofessional thing any dr has ever done to me. During the first 2 or 3 years when he was being nice to me during appts., When I had surgery, injuries and root canals, calling in to get help or advice on how to handle the pain, I could Never get my message through. Calling over and over, The nurse would not relay my message, would not ask for him to call me, & if you do anything for the pain, they will drop you. When I talked to him about that or any other issues, at my appt. (several times) He always told me I could go somewhere else if I didn't like it. Always very defensive, and didn't care about me, my health and well being. Left many appt.s holding back the tears till I got to my car. Afraid to try and find a new pain dr, and how he would treat me. if he would drop me before my new appt., if he found out. The staff is great from the front desk all the way to the doctor and PAs. I've been seeing Dr. Mackey for about 5 years now and I've had nothing but great care. At my first appointment they told me their goal was to get me to feel as pain free as possible with the least side effects which would mean a better quality of life. When I first saw them I was married with no kids working part time. Right now I'm a full time father of 2, work full time, and I have a side job. Even with all the extra work, responsibility, higher pain from 5 years older I'm actually having a way better quality of life. It took a long time for us to have find a medicine regiment that was best for me, but they stuck with it. They are also great with my kids, especially Amber. This is probably the last stop a lot of us with chronic pain have and if you're here then you're doctor probably referred you here. I've been seeing Dr. Mackey and his staff for about 5 years now and they are so great. The front office staff is nice and will always help with changes of appointments if needed. The nurses are kind and caring. Dr. Mackey takes time to see how you're doing and asks about other things in your life. Jamie is a lot like Dr. Mackey, he makes sure you're ok and then makes sure to see how work and the kids are. Amber is awesome and ends up with one or both of my kids on her lap while she's talking.

Would NOT recommend!! PA spent 45 minutes with us, Dr. Mackey himself spent less than 5 minutes with us with his hand on the door knob. Impatient when we asked a couple of questions. HOWEVER, the biggest problem was with the front desk and insurance coordinator. We have 2 ins coverages so never owe a copay. It was insisted we pay a $65 copay BEFORE we could see Dr. It took ONE MONTH for them to file ins. After notification that ALL costs were covered and we owed zero, no refund as yet. BEWARE!

His office staff is professional, respectful and cheerful under the circumstances of their specialty. I have personally found his PA's compassionate as well as well trained. Being treated for pain over a period of years is a bit of a roller coaster ride. Dr. Mackey has helped to provide insight and stability in a world dealing with pain management. Appointments are well managed and medication needs are addressed promptly.None of us want to reach this level of medical care but if you are there, this is a good doctor to have in your corner. Dr. Mackey is an excellent doctor. Biggest reason is he listens to what you are telling him about your symptoms and constantly works to help you improve your quality of life.

I have been seeing Dr Mackey and his staff several years I also have a sleep dissorder issues and use a sleep apnea machine . I am monitored by a router device on my machine that they can read from their office and they are very good at what they do. Very personable, professional, compassionate. Dr. Mackey and his staff are professional and caring. I have been seeing him for 13 years and he always listens to my concerns and he always answers my questions. He does not prescribe pain meds unnecessarily and expect to be tested regularly. I am grateful that he is my pain physician.

It is often easy to find a doctor you like, however few are so blessed to find a doctor and staff that really listen and strive to improve your daily quality of life. Dr Mackey and staff, make it possible for me to serve my purpose.

I am a healthcare professional whom called the office of Dr. Mackey to speak about a prescription for a patient. After RUDELY telling me that he was tired of hearing about the issue (I had never gotten any information back from him on the issue) he hung up on me. This is extremely unprofessional behavior especially from a self-proclaimed customer service expert. I will be suggesting patients go elsewhere from here on out.

This doctor is not worth your time!!! His PA, Amber is very rude and condescending. You feel like you are getting drilled when she sees you. As if she is trying to intimidate you. I will never recommend this doctor!!! He drops patients at the drop of a hat and leaves them hanging to unnecessary withdraws. What doctor does that? THIS ONE!

Dr. Mackey was recommended to me by my PCP who I trusted greatly. I've been seeing him for about 8 years. He quickly diagnosed my sleep apnea which I've had since at least 1991 when a nurse friend suspected it, but there weren't home CPAP machines then. I've had CRPS Type II since 1994, trigeminal neuralgia since 2006, and fibromyalgia since 2011. He has been great in helping me with my chronic pain and his PAs are good also. The only problem is he's far away from where I live.

He is awesome! He actually took the tine to listen to my concerns. He didn't make me feel like someone just looking for pain meds. He worked hard to come up with a pain regimen specifically for me. His office staff is awesome as well.

Absolutely the worst doctor and staff I have ever heard of or encountered! Dr. Mackey and his PAs are the rudest, greedy, lying, uncompassionate, irresponsible, ignorant bloated self worth, entitled, hateful, "professional" people with blatant reckless negligence for their patients. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR unless you like your doctor to walk out while you are in mid sentence expressing concerns at every appointment, being treated like a dumb piece of crap that's not worth their time, pre written prescriptions before they even meet you and refusing to change it under any and all circumstances, "firing" you from their services if you refuse to do a sleep study or other "ORDER" that he makes every patient do because he gets paid for it, then openly admitting that they do not care if you withdraw and die from them abruptly stopping strong narcotics they forced on you in the first place (unless you try to record them saying it and they run out of the room) without any warning or cause to do so. I admit that I am very glad I never have to deal with them ever again, but a letter or phone call letting me know that fictitious notes were entered by Dr. Mackey and PA causing me to be "fired" by them without cause or warning because I refused to do a sleep study and other things I did not need but would have given him more money, before I went to my appointment, paid for it, out of pain meds without a chance to schedule an appointment with someone else for my severe pain from systemic lupus, stiff-person-syndrome, MS, etc! This doctor and his PA lied TO me and ABOUT me! They did the same thing to several other people I know. You will probably never come in contact with a more unethical doctor and PA than these guys. Their office is very nice, but I assume it was payed for with insurance fraud. Save your life, time, and money and go to anyone else than these sheep herding thieves. dr. Mackey and all of his staff from the front to the back have been nice and polite as can be. they have helped me more in the first visit than the other doctor did in ten years. I can only say that they have been supper good for me .
