Worst doctor experience I’ve ever had. Can tell that workman’s comp pays his salary. Doesn’t listen, just gives you meds for headaches, and basically accuses you of faking an accident. Won’t be back even if I have to pay for care myself

My son has been seen by Dr. Hartwig since he turned 18 and aged out of Nemours. Dr. Hartwig and his staff have always been phenomenal. Dr. Hartwig has treated my son as an adult from day one and always listens to his concerns and is receptive about my son being pro active about his treatment plan.

Upon checking in, we were told that someone called in and canceled the appointment, stating she was in hospital. But the young lady at the front desk handled the misunderstanding very professional. The technician did fit her back onto the schedule. I'm still wondering who called and canceled since it was confirmed by text at 10:32am.

Front desk had no empathy,not friendly at all with patients,very abusive just telling patients to leave the office and they will call them, very unprofessional and rude,they never send my prescription to my pharmacy ,I also call the office asking for my prescription and they hang up the phone, simply don't waste your time otherwise if you like to be mistreated ????‍♂️ #unprofessional #careless

This guy needs to retire.

Horrible. Did not really examine me. Ignored the symptoms and problem. Acted like he was scared to address the pain problems or just didn't care. Very nonchalant.

The Ultimate WORSE Dr ever, and I’m using the term Dr loosely. As I’m working on my new patient paperwork, get to the second page, I see he walking out his previous patient. Cool beans, so I’m starting the sheet regarding symptoms within the last 3 months. I get called (2mins later from when he walked his previous patient out) and he tells me to go straight back to the right. We enter his office, he asked me why was I there, explained it to him. He asked when did the injury happen I said November. So he’s like, you're just now seeking treatment remark. Which I told him I had some situations arise. He tells me he’s going to send me for PT. I asked what if that doesn’t work, what is the plan. He shouts I’m not doing surgery on you, that Not that I asked, what is the treatment plan for me. So I asked you want me to go the PT in severe pain, he shouts, IM NOT GIVING NARCOTICS, ok that’s find I just need something to keep me comfortable at work, him once again I AM NOT TAKING YOU OUT OF WORK. At that point i was done with his selective hearing self. Im just upset that the doctor doesn’t want to play Dr and does not offer other treatment options for someone with a slipped discs, 3 herniated discs, 2 bulging discs, a ligament tear with bone spurs. First time seeing a neurologist so wasn't sure what to expect. He lead me into his office and asked what brought me. I told my story and was interrupted occasionally with questions from the doctor, a great clue he was listening and formulating a treatment. We moved to an exam room then back to the office followed by more questions. He set me up for a nerve test my primary doctor had wanted, wrote me out a prescription and sent me on my way. Don't waste your time. He treated me so rudely. Rolled his eyes and bobbed his head at me trying to distract me from telling him my problems since experiencing head trauma. I have pain and short term memory loss and he just flat out told me i dont have that. It was the most bizarre 5 minutes of my life. He tried to put words in my mouth and direct what I was saying to him rather than him listening to me. He did not look over my ct scan , talk to me about it or suggest anything I can do to help recover from my head trauma. He tried to belittle me and distract me during my whole 5 minutes with him.

Very rude!

My experience was horrible. He made me feel like i was dumb and wasting his time .Very rude and didn't seem to want to hear what i had to say . I have been suffering with migraines for a long time now . He is not personable at all. Will never go back .

I played 9 years in the NFL where I’ve had several concussions. I was looking to Dr Hartwig for help for neuro issues. He did not. “I’m not sure what I can do for you” “I am running out of options” some of his responses which were very disheartening. He is very quick to write a script, meetings lasted less than 5 minutes, “let’s not worry about those issues today” to things he could not write a script for. Zero MRIs Zero CT scans. Zero concern- he gives an interested look, briefly but does not want to get to the bottom of issues. He is quick to write any prescription. Horrible experience. I have been suffering from headaches, which my PCP thinks is occipital neuralgia. He recommended a follow up with neurologist. I work for St Vincents so had to choose one there. Didn't do any research on physicians which is my fault. My appointment was literally 3 minutes where he sat cross armed and looked at me full of disdain. He never did a physical assessment and basically told me to find a way to relax because it was stress causing my muscular spasms and headaches. ONLY when I brought up what my PCP thought it was did he offer a suggestion on how to treat that. Never met a more rude or uncaring physician! I was concerned to go see Dr. Hartwig because of the 1.7 rating. It turned out there was no concern needed he was very nice very kind helped me considerably discussed my options and was very polite and nice so I don’t understand people saying bad things about him. Would not recommend this doctor. He made snide remarks about the tests that my orthopedic doctor had ordered in that he wished "they" had allowed him to do the testing and said that apparently everything was fine according to those results. Kept asking questions, but did not listen to my response. Most of my time (8 of the 10 minutes I was actually there) was spent in his personal office, not in the exam room. He did not do an exam, only asked more questions. It's almost as if he didn't believe that there was an issue. He gave me a prescription for muscle spasms even though he had already corrected me when I called them spasms and said that's not what what I am experiencing, and said for me to call him in two days. When I asked what they were for, he said, "I am treating the symptoms". I don't want symptoms treated, I want a diagnosis for the root cause. I will not be taking the meds and will not be calling him back. I will however, be seeking a referral to a different doctor.

In and out in under 2 minutes. Writes a prescription and sends you on your way. I don't recommend him.

Don't waste your time like I did. I spent more time driving to and from two separate appointments with Dr. Hartwig (almost 3.5 hours, collectively) than I actually spent face-to-face with him (maybe a combined total of 10 minutes). The first time I sat down with him he didn't have a single clue as to why I was referred to his office and the 2nd he acted incredibly nonchalant about about my concerns. I will not be returning to his office and will strongly advise others to avoid it, as well. Don't waste your time like I did. Poor experience. Very disappointing and disheartening. I wasn’t in his office a full five minutes before a prescription was written. He didn’t even introduce himself to me. The scheduling of the office was incorrect. The doctor didn’t ask questions about my history of migraines. He truly didn’t care. I’m still appalled. I wasn’t expecting to have to the same treatment that one would if going to see a primary care doctor, but he didn’t even try to establish rapport, there were no investigative questions or probable solutions. I had an appointment with Dr. Hartwig this morning. Dr. Hartwig was very concerned about my pain and listened to my concerned. I feel he has my best interest concerning my medical care.

I'm a 52 year old disabled Veteran of 20 years. I have seen my share of doctors. This guy was the most rude doctor I've had the pleasure to meet. The guy just comes in demanding answers and when I tried to explain my case, he didn't want to hear about it. The guy never explained what any procedure was until I felt a sting in my leg and I jerked it away and he said to lay still so he can stick me. To this day, I still don't know why he stuck me 3 times with a needle. The guy is a jerk and has been reported to workers comp and BBB.

I would give 0 starts if able to. I went with my husband to his appointment. He was sent to Dr. Hartwig by his workman's compensation specialist. He took us to his office and never examined my husband. As my husband asked questions the doctor did not listen. He already had a response ready before the question was even asked. When my husband drew attention to that fact the doctor became defensive. He told him that there was nothing that he could do for him. That he was not going to take him out from work. My husband never asked to be removed from work. On the contrary, he wants to be at work and wants to be 100%. This man is condescending and rude. It got to the point that I actually said don't waste your breath on him. The most unprofessional doctor I have ever come across. Do not go to him. He should not be allowed to practice with that bedside manner.

I was referred to Dr. Hartwig by my primary Dr. on 1/3/2020 because he was in my network and he’s supposed to be a specialist in treating migraines. After completing all the paperwork that was required of me, I was taken in to see him. The first thing he asked me was why I was there and I told him because I suffer from migraines. His response was I’ll make the decision on rather or not you are sick. This doctor was very RUDE and unprofessional. All he wanted to do was write me a prescription for medications without even examining me or diagnosing what was wrong with me, but yet he’s supposed to be the specialist. When I advised him that I already had medication for my migraines from my primary Dr., he said well continue to take that and come back in a week to see him. That’s not going to happen. Why would I go back? He did nothing for me accept insult me. I walked out of his office upset, disgusted and disappointed. This is the worst Dr. I have ever been to.

RUDE MAN! he's a Doctor that thinks he's GOD! very poor communicator.

First appt with him was 3 minutes, second appt was less than a minute. He had no plan to diagnose me. He's there to make easy money.

Felt like I was being seen by Doc from back to the future. Prescribed me medication that I can’t Take because of heart condition. Had no clue what caused my headaches

If I could give less than one star, I would. He doesn’t care about patients, just making money. First appointment, he talked to be for 5 minutes and prescribed me a medication without further evaluation. Front desk staff is very nice though so I guess my one star can go towards them!

This is a fine dr. He has an efficient personality and does his job in a manner which is expediates the process of receiving prior authorization if it is required. I was able to receive an expensive medication for 2 months for free from the manufacturer while waiting for prior approval due to help from Dr Hartwig and his staff. A person should desire an efficient dr and staff that meets or excceds her/his needs and be extremely pleased when that happens like I am This is a fine dr. I am 21 years old & didn't have much experience with Dr.'s, in fact I was afraid of them. Dr. Hartwig kept me calm & ran some tests on me & diagnosed what was causing my problems. He took the time to explain it to me so that I could understand. He put me on medication that made me feel worse, so I contacted him & he immediately changed the medication & the dosage. What a difference he has made in the quality of my life for the past 2 years! I would highly recommend him to friends & family!

Excellent Neurologist, specialising in seizures. Great "bedside" manner, thoroughly explains conditions, disease, treatment option, & ant questions you have. Excellent office & support staff.

I saw Dr Hartwig and he talked to me across his desk. He did not even complete a neurological eval. I hadnt completed my paperwork so I took it back with me but he never asked for it. He was condesvending and dismissive. He wrote a prescription for me that a team of neurologists at a well-respected hospital said I shouldn’t take because it put me at risk for a potentially life-threatening condition if combined with other meds I am taking. But he would not offer anything else.
