Dr. Bruce H Hansen

I have a similar experience with Melissa’s regarding a root canal. Dr. Hansen also belittled me in front of his hygienist. His assistant needed help taking the X-ray while holding my bite inside of my cheek. So, he insisted he do the bite X-ray and for her to hit the button. He stated I was faking my gag reflex and proceeded to show me a real gag reflex. He rudely told me I was simply refusing the bite X-ray while I still had the dental dam attached to my root canal tooth. When it was time, he deliberately jammed the bite down my throat and holding it for his assistant to capture an image and then a second time because the first wasn’t good enough. Afterwards, he says, “I don’t know how you even had braces if you couldn’t handle that.” Once Dr. Hansen finished sealing my molar, his assistant was apologetic about having to take another X-ray. I could sense her shame and disappointment the way I was treated.

Dr. Hanson was very inconsiderate. While working on my root canal a month ago I told him that I still felt pain and he mentioned that he was almost done so "I should either suck it up or else he'd have to give me a shot in the roof of my mouth again" (which yes a shot hurts for .2 seconds but I would have preferred that over the pain of the drill). I felt like he belittled my pain and was rude about it so I just sat there and let him continue. Sometimes you don't realize how bad a dentist is until you have a good one. I just had a root canal done by a different dentist yesterday and she mentioned that I should have felt NO pain at all. She was considerate and cared about what I had to say. I wish I would have known that while Dr. Hansen was working on my tooth, his complete disregard for my pain is very unsettling to think about now. I would NOT RECOMMEND Dr. Hansen to ANYONE. I am giving him 1 star only because I have to or else It would be zero.

Unprofessional and lazy. Unresponsive in emergency situations.

Dr Hansen was not able to complete the care needed. He stated that he was a specialist who didn't do "regular" dentist work. Refused to call the "regular" dentist to clarify care. Now need another appointment. He was very concerned about his liability and mentioned it at least 6 times.
