Dr. Brouha is the absolute best, but.... The office is a disaster. Tried to set an appointment for my wife this AM and waited on hold for 20 minutes. This afternoon, I tried to change an appointment for myself. On hold for 30 minutes until I finally had to hang up. Called back and the receptionist picks up quickly and says "there are 2 calls ahead of you (which was the case this morning) I said "wait" and told her of my waiting on the line so long. She said "we are very busy" My point: If business is so good HIRE MORE STAFF!

Dr. Brouha is wonderful. Super knowledgeable and pragmatic. He takes the time, has science-backed answers to questions, and pays attention! Thanks, Dr. Brouha!

I believe excellence should be recognized. I lost half of my hair in 2 months. Dr. Brouha did a biopsy to rule out any pathology. He also told me to have my doctor run my ferritin levels. It turns out I had critically low levels of iron. For months I was having heart arrhythmias, waking up gasping for air, breaking out into cold sweats and having shaking episodes. None of my other doctors thought to check my ferritin levels, they only checked my hemoglobin, which was normal. My symptoms were passed off to stress, or thyroid imbalance. Low iron can lead to heart failure, and I believe I was having symptoms of this. I am now getting iron infusions, I feel great & my hair has stopped falling out. He took time to teach me while I was in the exam room, breaking out his marker and whiteboard. You can feel how much he cares for his patients and I am just so thankful that he is my doctor. He went above and beyond for me, and I believe he quite literally has saved my life.

All in all my experience was just fine. EXCEPT, the parking garage is frightening. Other parking places in the medical buildings in La Jolla are just as bad or worse. West Dermatology La Jolla is the best dermatology health clinic in town. The staff is amazing. Dr. Brouha is arguably the best skin doctor in all of San Diego and California. His passion and knowledge about skin care separates him from any other doctor in town. His willingness and desire to work with his patients to find resolutions to problems is greatly appreciated and valued. Dr Brougha does a great job listening, explaining options, allowing me to help decide the plan of action, and giving me effective at home therapies. His communication skills are top tier. I’m grateful for his expertise and willingness to let me be an active partner in my treatment plan.

receptionist booking my visit was great, she worked hard to find a date and time which worked. Even though I was the last patient of the day, everyone was running on time. Overall very good experience and would definitely recommend Dr. Brouha. He calmed my fears about sun related issues with my skin. Just wish I could hear more about treatments to improve my skin such as microdermabrasion or laser resurfacing etc that would keep my condition from worsening and maybe even improve my skin. The entire staff is friendly and efficient. My husband saw Dr. Brouha a couple of years ago and was impressed with everything involved in taking care of his problem. I have now seen Dr Brouha three times, also impressed with him as well as the entire staff.

I cannot express enough how impressive Doctor Brouha is. After having a very disappointing experience with Dr Crosby of Grossmont Dermatology Center, I was hopeful, but not exactly expecting much. Wow was I blown away. From the first point of contact, the front desk, they were all so kind and welcoming. Dr. Brouha listened to me and immediately went into action. He pulled hairs from different parts of my scalp, looked through a microscope to see what phase they were in. He went to a white board and started explaining everything. He also looked at my labs and immediately recognized a few blood tests that should have been done. This was my first appointment and I literally was in tears because I have been experiencing A LOT of shedding. I have a lot of hair and it is hip length. He made me feel hopeful. I was just happy that he genuinely was interested in finding out what is wrong. He was very detailed oriented , has a great sense of humor and is all around amazing. I previously saw Dr. Tompkins twice for acne and she didn't take much time to explain or actually talk to me. After I got my referral renewed, I asked to see another doctor and I got Dr. Brouha. He was AMAZING! He worked with me to create a treatment plan, went over the side effects in detail, and was extremely understanding. 10/10!!
