Very caring and listens to your concerns. Puts the patient at ease and is very reassuring. I never feel rushed at my appointments with Dr Shortal.

They do not return calls. They do not collaborate on care with patients physicians and only order tests once the patient is in a serious state. Very disappointed. My mom is paying the price of their poor patient care.

Wonderful physician, staff and experience as a whole. Highly recommend!

I recently moved to the Deerfield area and selected Dr. Shortal as my cardiologist. That was a very wise decision on my behalf. I quickly learned that Dr. Shortal is a caring cardiologist who is smart, decisive, responsive and fun to speak with. During my first visit with him he removed me from several older drugs and put me on 1 newer drug. This has made my life a lot easier and my Rx's less expensive. Beyond that, whenever I need a refill he is extremely fast in responding. As a side note, he is a former military officer and a competitive marathon runner. -So, if you're a vet and/or athlete you absolutely want him as your physician because he walks the talk and knows what we're all about. This doctor took the time to discuss and answer questions, in plain English. He did a thorough exam at all visits. He not only explained issues, but also gave additional information resources. He did a great job of explaining the risks and benefits of ablation for atrial fibrillation. This doctor is everything anybody would want in a cardiologist.
