Reviews for Brian Regis Perri
Dr.Perri has my vote. He’s informative and knowledgeable. Although he is often rushed he does take time to answer all my questions. Not many doctors allow their patients to video him/her during an office visit, but he does. I highly recommend him. Thank you for this opportunity to leave my thoughts. Most respectfully, Mrs. Shutt, RN (Ret)
Words can not express my gratitude towards Dr Perri. I was told this guy was the best in the US, if not the world. I CAN NOW HONESTLY SAY THE STATEMENT IS 110% accurate! I received TDR at the C5-6 and C6-7 5 months ago and it absolutely changed my life! Dr Perri gave me my life back! He is extremely difficult to see, but if you want the best, he is definitely worth the wait! Words can not express my gratitude towards Dr Perri. After a decade of dealing with a terrible neck injury, I finally had surgery with Dr. Perri in 2010. And I could not have been in better hands! In August 2020 when I unfortunately suffered another back injury from a car accident, eight weeks of excruciating pain, and had already been misdiagnosed by four doctors, I didn’t hesitate to fly all the way from the Caribbean to have his opinion. And once again, Dr. Perri was the one who found TWO fractures on my back. I may not have great luck with my back, but you will be lucky if you get to see him. He did my spinal disc replacement and recommended a vascular surgeon for the approach. However something went wrong and I had massive bleed which cause a huge ossified hematoma, which had to be removed. I cannot stress enough that this surgery has caused me permanent damage and has forever lessened the quality of my life. Not only did I have to have to follow up surgery to repair the damage in my abdomen and it is still not fixed, my back is still as sore as the day before the surgery.
Dr. Perri is not only an amazing and skilled surgeon, but he also has awesome bedside manner. He made us feel so comfortable about the surgical process and educated us about what he was going to do and about how much time everything would take. The surgery went seamlessly and his staff is amazing!!
I am old enough [early 70’s] to have watched the medical profession change drastically. On the one hand, the technology of medicine has advanced in ways which are almost unrecognizable to someone who grew up In the mid 20th century. Diagnostics and treatments now exist which were not even imagined 40 or 50 years ago. On the other hand, the personal connection between doctor and patient has, along the way, been compromised – – actually, almost lost – – as the science overwhelms the human aspect of medicine. What I find remarkable about Dr. Brian Perri, is that he clearly is at the forefront of his specialty (spinal surgery) in terms of technical skills and knowledge. In fact, he is continually helping to advance the science of his specialty. But at the same time, from the moment he first walks into a room, you are aware that he is there as a person – – not just a Doctor. You do not feel like the next patient on an assembly line. You feel like he is genuinely there in the room with you, person-to-person. I believe he has a quietly revolutionary idea which is all around you, in your experience with him, and the other members of the DOCS team. (A special shout-out here to Priscila , the doctor’s Surgical Coordinator, who keeps a lot of plates spinning with professionalism, good humor, and warmth). Medicine should not be just about the process. It should, first and foremost, be about the patient — the well-being and care of the patient — from the moment you walk into the waiting room, and through the entire process of surgery and post-surgical healing. I know, II know — you can find some version of that idea on every website, of every medical group and every hospital. But the actual experience you usually you have as a patient is, in most cases, very different from the words. I had a double spinal fusion [L4/L5/S1] and what they call a “decompression" for stenosis at L4 and L5 on both sides of my spine, done by Dr. Perri. All of it, done through a 2 inch incision just below my navel. It is now about four months since those procedures. At my last check up, Dr. Perri cleared me to return to the gym – – working out has always been an important part of my life. I waited for that moment at the gym when I would be aware something about my back was now (necessarily) compromised – – I mean, come on, my spine has literally been taken apart and put back together.... But that moment never happened. Yes, I am still in the healing process, and aware of it. But it is still my back – – I am still me after a surgery which in some ways still seems just short of magic. And every time I see Dr. PerrI there is, for me, a genuine personal connection which he makes possible. He actually listens. He invites questions and dialogue. His techniques and capabilities maybe new-fangled – – but the humanity he brings to the process is old-fashioned in the best possible way. There is a song – – Everything Old Is New Again – – written by the Australian Peter Allen, in the 70s: Don't throw the past away You might need it some rainy day Dreams can come true again When everything old is new again. I feel that Dr. Perri is trying to make the old new again, at the same time that he embraces everything new which can help heal a patient. I am grateful beyond words for his work with me, and if you are in need of a spinal surgeon or orthopedic consultation, please consider the DOCS group. I was referred to Dr. Brian Perri by Dr. Dan Jacobson at the Beverly Hills Comprehensive Medical Center. I was in constant pain in both arms and hands and had limited use of my left hand. After reviews of the MRI and CAT Scan, Dr. Perri recommended cervical spine surgery to fix multiple issues from C3 down through T2. I had the surgery on Apr. 23rd, spent two nights at the recovery center across the hall from the surgery center, and went home pain and numbness free in both arms & hands. Several issues affecting my core were also corrected. Dr. Perri and his staff, especially his surgery coordinator Priscila Fajardo, were excellent, very communicative and supportive. After 11 years of constant back pain-S1 I'm finally pain free. Dr Perri replaced the disc and I walked out 21 hours later without back pain. Truly an amazing feeling. Dr Perri is a highly skilled surgeon for sure but it's his demeanor and compassion that is truly amazing. He and his staff at his offices are always friendly and on top of their game. I had the most amazing nurse at the surgery center that was literally with me the entire time trying to be helpful. I can't possible explain the depths of my gratitude to Dr. Perri for what he did for me. Insurance denied my claim and I thought I was going to be stuck with a fusion. Dr Perri wouldn't let that happen so we worked out a VERY good payment plan. Again I can't thank Dr Perri enough. Really made a mess of my cervical spine. 4 years of suffering before I had it corrected. Artificial disc that he put in was simply too large for my vertebrae. It started working it's way out and was pressing on my esophagus. X-Ray was horrifying. Go find someone else! On top of my experience my MD just called me in the middle of a pre-op for another patient with the same problem... I consider myself extremely fortunate to have scheduled an initial appointment with Dr. Brian Perri. I live on the East Coast and, when driving across the US to visit our daughter, I experienced “leg drag” in Louisiana. In calling my physiatrist in PA, he suggested I consult with a surgeon in LA. By the time we were in San Antonio, TX, Will (from BH Spinal Surgery) had scheduled me in with Dr. Perri. Upon an initial exam, Dr. Perri recommended good / better / best surgical alternatives. I chose “best,” which was a fusion of my lumbar region. I appreciated Dr. Perri’s efforts to help me understand the implications of my choice. He works collaboratively, which meant presenting my surgical options to his colleagues for any recommendations. I had the surgery in March, 2018, and in October, 2018, completed a positive post six month follow-up. For my pre and post-surgical needs and questions, I experienced his outstanding staff to be prompt with any and all questions. When following up with my GP and physiatrist in PA, they both commented what outstanding surgical work Dr. Perri had done! I am now entering the PT phase of my recovery and couldn’t be more motivated. Thank you, Dr. Perri (and supporting staff) for giving this 67 year old body the ability to be active and enjoy life once again! I'd been suffering with severe back pain and sciatica for about 15yrs. I was 26yrs old when it started and was advised by doctors to try stretching, core strengthening exercises, over the counter pain relievers, chiropractors, prescription pain killers, acupuncture …but my pain and mobility continued to get worse as I aged. At 30yrs old, spine surgeons said that there was either nothing that they could do other than pain management as is was part of aging and or I could try a fusion that may or may not help. I'd read a lot about spinal fusions and the fact that most people where at the same level of discomfort a few years after the surgery was concerning. I was also relatively young and wanted to avoid surgically immobilizing myself if possible. I'd heard of Artificial Disk Replacement (ADR) surgery through online support groups. There were people that were having ADR done in Germany and then shortly after were pain free and returning to normal levels of activity. The only problem was that insurance wouldn't cover the procedure in Germany and I didn't have the money to pay for it in myself. The next few years, I saved money and did my best to manage the pain/disability. At 39yrs old, I was to the point I could no longer walk without assistance, was losing control of my bladder, had extreme pain 24/7, and had lost most feeling below by waist. I came across Dr. Perri's name while researching the doctors that were performing ADR in Germany and was surprised to see that he was in the US and had trained with the surgeon I'd been wanting to see abroad. I made an appointment and got a fresh MRI the day before my visit. Dr. Perri did and examination, reviewed my x-rays and MRI, then recommended that I get a surgery done ASAP due to the severity of my symptoms. The MRI revealed that my spinal cord was almost completely compressed due to a very large disk herniation in my lumbar region. I had ADR surgery the next day and have not had one bit of sciatica or back pain since. It's been about a year and a half and I'm still going strong. I had to use a walker for a few days after surgery and then did a few months of physical therapy before I was fully mobile, but now I feel just as good as I did before I ever had back issues. Other than my parents that brought me to life, Dr. Perri is the most important person that I've met. He's given me a new life and I'm forever grateful to him. I can't thank him and his staff enough. From my initial visit to dealing with my insurance company months after my surgery, Dr. Perri and his staff were great. I'd been suffering with severe back pain and sciatica for about 15yrs. On the 29th of August, 2018, I went to the Miracle Mile Medical Center for a preliminary visit for my back surgery scheduled on the next day. We were welcomed by Dr. Dave with an assuring smile that the surgery would go smoothly. We were shown around the facility and were introduced to all the staff. I found this to be a very uplifting experience. My operation was performed the next morning by Dr. Brian Perri. In just two and a half hours of surgery, Dr. Perri relieved over 30 years of incessant back pain. The entire process was seamless, and I felt comfortable at every step. I knew I was in good hands. Incredibly, I was able to walk by the end of the day. After the surgery, I received exceptional treatment from all the experienced nurses and doctors at the facility, who ensured that I had adequately recovered before my departure. In particular, nurses Beverly and Sun both treated me with a great deal of patience and respect, and I am grateful for their care. Again, I pay my highest respects to Dr. Perri, along with Mr. Giordano who recommended Dr. Perri to me. This surgery marks a major turning point in my life. Although I still have a ways to go in my recovery,I am looking forward to my new lease on life. I would recommend Doctor Brian Perri and the Miracle Mile Medical Center with no reservations whatsoever. Sincerely, Thamir A. Dr. Perri is my hero. He repaired my spine after another, (supposedly top Ceders Sinai spinal surgeon,) put a screw into my nerve. From the moment, I woke up from surgery I was in extreme pain. For six months I suffered with sciatic pain and could barely walk. My original doctor did nothing to help me. In desperation I went to Dr. Perri for a second opinion. He told me a screw was put into my nerve, and I needed surgery to repair it. Surgery with Dr. Perri defines what it’s like to have a talented, caring surgeon as your doctor. If I had a problem Dr. Perri would immediately call back. He took time to make sure I understood what was happening. Two weeks after surgery the pain was gone. A few months later the nerve pain was back. Fortunately Dr. Perri didn’t waste time, he immediately sent me for an MRI. A vertebrae was touching a nerve, I needed another fusion. Dr. Perri’s compassion and follow-up helped make a painful operation easier. I recommend if you’re having back or neck pains schedule an appointment with Dr. Perri, you will not be disappointed. Dr Perri and Dr Wong are amazing. Dr Loder is the best in his field. All around the best place in LA.
After being in constant pain, and difficulties to walk from bed to kitchen, I was pain free just 3 hours after walking into Dr. Perri's outpatient surgery center. No pain pills starting on day 1 after surgery. Was able to walk 3.5 miles on day 5. Today is day 15, and I am feeling great thanks to Dr. Perri. I should have done it months earlier. Also, his office staff is amazing, friendly, and great with communications, and addressing patient's needs. 5 stars all the way around! Dr Perri and in fact all Dr’s that work with him. Are brilliant the term genius might be much. However these guys are the best. Both myself and my husband have had surgery and injections here. Don’t go anywhere else. If you do you will end up here either way. Save yourself trouble and pain. Just come to the best.

After two months in pain PT, accupuncture, and pills for pain, I have finally decided to see a surgeon. Dr. Perri was rather certain that he could help, and that my recovery period from microdiscectomy would be quick. He was 100% correct. I have barely walked into his outpatient surgery center at 6AM (walking from bedroom to kitchen was a major task for me prior to surgery), and I have walked out without any pain, and didn't even have to take pain killers ever since. Thanks Dr. Perri!!!

I suffered with a hideous back for 40 years. I had two fusions in my lumbar area and three in the cervical area. I am free from pain. What more needs to be said? This doctor is a genius. I was off all pain pills within 3 weeks. My recovery was fast. I am lucky to have found him.
Dr Perri has a more conservative approach which I preferred over other doctors I saw that could be more aggressive and require longer recovery. He also had more than one option which was comforting. He really seems to care about the total health of the patient and make sure all is done ahead of time so the patient is ready for surgery.
Very knowledgeable and takes his time to explain!!
