Dr. Brian Edward Leininger

Dr. Leininger saved my colon. I came to the hospital with a GI bleed which happened 3 times and ended up in ICU. On the 2nd attempt to repair the ruptured artery, Interventional Radiology was able to coil it in 4 places to successfully stop the bleed. Then came blood results indicating that the repair was cutting off the blood supply to my colon and a right resection was discussed with the surgical team and agreed on while I was still healthy. An ostomy would be worst case since they weren't sure the amount of damage. That's when Dr. Leininger came into my room and said he was my age and talked to me about all of the details of an exploratory approach vs. full resection and said he wanted to ask the GI team to do another colonoscopy to have a view from the inside. So the GI team agreed and I had a repeat colonoscopy and the tissue was not dying so I was closely monitored and my blood tests all started improving. Dr. Leininger literally saved my colon. If he had not stepped into my room to discuss with me my situation and offer an option, I would have been in surgery in a matter of moments. I would love to thank this man for his professionalism, his expertise, and his personal approach. He stepped into my life at the exact right moment and I will forever be grateful.

My Son was brought in. Load n Go situation. The staff, lead by the 3 Surgeons i.e. Dr. Brian, worked on my son. Incredible what they accomplished with what little they had to work with. They were ALL there for us. Worst moment a parent could have. Truly impressive Trauma Staff @ UCHealth. Not once did they shy away or talk over us. We were shown scans, scopes, tests, all of it. Anything that we could grab a hold of, to make sense out of my sons death. All of it was available with detailed explanation. The depth of knowledge and thoroughness is astounding. Most importantly, they were ALL very warm, considerate and kind. You were immediately among friends and welcomed. In the hardest of circumstances, we were honored. Thank You Dr. Brian. .... Dr. Leininger repaired my torn spleen and ruptured bladder. I came in as a trauma patient from a car accident. He (and his team) are amazing! Post-op, he checked on me every morning, answered all of my questions and took his time with me and my family. I cannot thank him enough!!! Thank you!!

Empathetic and patient describe him well. He truly desires to help others. He goes above and beyond to make sure you are well cared for.

Dr Leininger removed my gallbladder. He was amazing. I wish he was a regular Dr. I would love to have him as my everyday Dr. I highly recommend him to anyone needing surgery. He's very knowledgeable and has a wonderful bedside manner

One of very few who actually cares about his patient. Spends quality time answering any question and explains everything in terms understandable. Literally saved my life and was so great with both myself and family members. I couldn't have wanted another surgeon the ER the day I arrived.
