Dr. Brian Shannon Donovan

Dr Donovan has been my primary physician for three years and from day 1 has done a great job. For example, I had a kidney stone issue, 8mm, which had not yet manifest itself in severe pain. Dr Donovan expedited specific tests based on mild symptoms to identify the root cause. Subsequently, moved quickly to get me access to a specialist in less than a week...which took an extraordinary effort as there were no openings. Had surgery and right as rain within the span of 8 days. When the office is not open, he always answers his calls. Couldn't ask for a better general practitioner and would recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

Amazing doctor! Great bed side manners, hears you when you talk, really cares & knowledgeable. He even gave me his cell phone number if I needed it.

NO! Huge superiority complex. He is the great and omnipotent DOCTOR. He doesn't listen. When you bring in information he dismisses it. He dismisses your opinion, questions and most of all your emotional well being. He considers an exam as listening to your heart, looking in your mouth and ears. That's it.

My experience was very good. I was looking for a primary care doctor and was given a prompt appointment by a pleasant and helpful staff. Doctor Donovan saw me without much waiting time and then spent 45 minutes to an hour going over my health situation. When I got home I signed up for their online patient portal which is also helpful. Professional but friendly and personal.

Dr. Donovan was very concise in his evaluation of my health statistics. He appeared to be proactive in maintaining my wellness.

Dr. Brian Shannon Donovan is a consumately professional, warm, and gracious physician. He was extremely thorough today: in my 8 month search for a brilliant, communicative, and concerned physician, Dr. Donovan is by far the only one to have met or exceeded my expectations. You'll love him and be eternally grateful you had the chance to make him your treating physician.

I thought the doc was great! I needed a new primary as mine retired, and his staff got me in to see him in 2 weeks. The doc went through all my medical history. Asked about it ALL of it in detail, reviewed the medication I'm on, did a physcial from top to bottom, contacted my pharmacy that day, answered all my questions, we set goals, and he scheduled my next appointment. The level of professionalism was extremely good. Being cautious looking for a new primary after having been with the same doc for years, I did my research-his education was top notch and I found his bedside manner to be very accommodating. He was one of the few docs taking new patients. Wait time was 5 minutes. Covered all bases. As far as I'm concerned, he's my primary until I die or he retires. I highly recommend him for anyone looking for a primary doctor.

Donovan has some serious issues. I'm not sure if emotional or mental, but would not recommend by a longshot. Brusque, talks over patient/assistants, does not make eye contact, tinkers on laptop instead of listening to answers to his own questions. Very odd. Gets angry if asked a question. In my case he screamed and ranted for several minutes, after telling me there were 'people outside under overpasses with signs' who are dying like Judy Garland. My sin? I asked about my refill (not controlled medicine)... that I've taken for 42 years. MmmK. Steer clear.

The best primary care Dr. I have ever had! Takes time with me and explains things. Actually listens and takes action.

I was unable to see my doctor and was offered opportunity to see Dr. Donovan. I was in pain and agreed. I was very impressed. After seeing me, and while I was still there, he and his assistant got me in immediately for a CT scan, on an hours notice, and called me at 8:02am the next business day to see how I was doing. No, he not a chatty talker, but that is what I like. I want him to do what he is trained to do, diagnose issues to the best of his ability and take action needed to remedy my condition. He did that and I would give him and A++.

He takes the time to sit down and talk to you. You don't feel like a number -- get em in get em out

The doctor showed little interest in me as a new patient. The first office visit was overly rushed, my questions about medication were ignored and not answered until the end of the office visit, he stared and rapidly read off a list of standard medical questions and never looked at me, he failed to follow up on my inquiries for a new eye exam and new eyeglasses and also new hearing aids. The office staff can range from being polite and complement all the way to being rude and disorganized. To say the least, I was not impressed at all. I transferred to a new medical group 10 days later.

Dr. Donovan is in Tucson now and I am shocked at the poor reviews left for him. He has been nothing but courteous and efficient. He is direct and to the point which I appreciate. He answers my questions and is committed to getting me healthy.

Serious temper issue mixed with god complex. No eye contact. Brusque doesn't begin to describe. Seems to have an anger issue if asked questions or asked to clarify. His care coordinator, Chris, is a doll. Not sure how she must feel by the end of a work day.

We found him to be a good doctor. My husband and I went in together. He answered all our questions and addressed all issues. We felt very comfortable and thought he was very knowledgeable in all his answers. He was personable too. His nurse was very nice. The front office staff were not friendly.

What most people don't like about Dr Donovan is what I like about him. I like getting in and out. I like that he's direct and business like. He's always been polite and helpful and concerned when I went to him.

Poor doctor-patient manner - abrupt and disinterested in you as an individual. Unsatisfactory experience. Would not recommend as a Family Doctor.

Today Dr. Donovan told me that they don't prescribe controlled substances. I reminded him that he prescribed Tramadol for my headaches before and he told me, "Well the FDA is looking at everything very closely and I won't prescribe it again". The last prescription of Tramadol he wrote for me was 35 months ago. Previously, after I slipped a disc he sent me home with a prescription for 10 Valium. I went to a urgent care center the following day and left there with the 3 needed prescriptions.

Rude. Sharp. Cold. Doesn't look at you. Never shook my hand upon meeting. Did he come from the military? Seemed to think I was in his platoon. Never spoke with me about treatment options. Very poor medical care. Who needs this treatment when seeking help? Don't go.

Very un-trustworthy, terrible bed side manners, difficult to talk to, doesn't care about patients concerns, very indecisive, very strict rules of how he runs things and makes it a point to tell the patient that this is how its going to be, very stubborn, and close-minded. I would NEVER recommend him. He made me leave the office crying and every appointment I get very upset during my visit. He doesn't seem to want to help me or listen to my concerns.

Not friendly, doesn't listen to you. Rushes you out door as fast he can. Choose a different Dr. He Dismisses symptoms your having based on age or only one factor. Have to ask to have basic checkup routine's done. Makes you feel like a kid in the principals office. Also the office is incompetent. They act like they are doing you a favor by answering the phone. They rarely answer the phone. I try calling in the morning and afternoon to give them the benefit of the doubt. It's a joke. GOUR ELSEWHE
