Dr Derby is a perfectionist & goes above & beyond. I did a lot of research & ultimately interviewed 2 surgeons. Hands down Dr Derby was the person to go with. My oncologist saved my life and Dr Derby GAVE ME MY LIFE BACK. In the summer of 2017 I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. I went through all of the recommended treatments as I wanted my best shot at living-for a long time. I have a brilliant oncologist who I owe my life to. Meantime, I am the poster child for “all the bad stories you heard about chemo and especially the radiation effects-I got it!” That was a long and winding road. I felt very hopeless for the 2 years post radiation as I had Severe swelling and pain in my right breast and rib cage that most people said I would have to live with forever. Enter Dr Derby. He gave me hope when I felt hopeless. I have never looked or felt better than I do now and I’m 2 months post op and feel beyond happy again! Not only is he the most skilled and amazing surgeon I’ve ever known but he is a damn nice guy who truly cares about his patients. He is the BEST and I am totally grateful To him. He changed my life.

Dr Derby was excellent. He was caring and very professional. I did appreciate how he didn't try to persuade me to do additional surgeries unless I felt comfortable. I did local anesthetic for my eye surgery and Dr Derby made the whole experience awesome and non stressful! So recommending him to all my friends and family.

Dr. Derby is an excellent surgeon. He performed a skin graft on a difficult area, and the results are amazing. He is a thoughtful, caring person and a talented doctor whose work is of high quality.

I would recommend Dr. Brian Derby highly. He performed reconstructive surgery on my cheek for malignant melanoma. He and his skilled nurses set me at ease, as I had never been sedated. He fully explained what was to be done with this procedure. Follow up care was excellent, and I have hardly any scar! Precision job! Four years later, Dr. Derby, removed a melanoma from my scalp. Not satisfied with the pathology report, he removed more margins of skin which was successful! I place full trust in him, as a highly skilled surgeon with an excellent “bedside” manner which is so important!

I selected Dr. Derby to perform my breast lift with implants because he has numerous patients whose before pictures looked like me, and whose after pictures showed results that I wanted for myself. Dr. Derby did a fabulous job fixing my nose after a Mohs procedure. I had a hole the size of a dime and it looked like a chunk was missing from the side view. I had a Dorsi Flap done by Dr. Derby and am very happy with the results. Dr. Derby always gives me as much time as I need on office visits and I never feel like he's hurrying to someone else.

Dr Derby listens well-very empathetic but does try to be realistic regarding expected outcomes! I found him to be caring and a great communicator-He made my procedure -Breast Reduction-as comfortable as possible for me by attention to detail throughout the entire experience. Dr Derby helped me when I had given up ever having a normal hand again. I had what should have been a routine hand surgery but through a fluke of bad luck I had an allergic reaction and ended up with infections followed by more surgeries. After the 6th surgery Dr. Derby agreed to help me even though hands aren't just current specialty. I am now completely healed thanks to him. Thank God for caring and knowledgeable doctors like him.

He called me yesterday to check up on me and made me laugh, he has a great sense of humor and is so nice and he made me feel like I was his only patient, making feel important and answering all of my weird questions prior to the surgery and after the surgery. Dr. Derby is amazing! His work is beautifully done. I had a gastroc flap with a skin graph done and it turned out great! Derby's personality was always fun and infectious; such a great guy. I would recommend him to anyone! My case was not a simple one for I had extremely bad soft tissue damage but, He is thorough and meticulous and my experience with him could not have gone better!

Dr. Derby was very kind and thorough in treating me. I had a scar from heart surgery that wasn't healing completely. My heart surgeon referred me to Dr. Derby. Dr. Derby met with me to get an understanding of what had transpired. I was feeling a lot of tightness at the incision and part of it hadn't healed completely after almost a year. He repaired the incision, made it much more comfortable and followed up with me until it had completely healed to our mutual satisfaction.

The BEST, most caring doctor that I have ever known. I had a brow lift, and both of my upper and lower eyelids done and i couldn't be happier. Dr. Derby is in a class all his own. There are probably many competent plastic surgeons, but none could be more caring than Dr. Derby. His frequent phone calls between appointments made what was an unpleasant situation (reconstruction after mohs surgery) almost fun. I adore him.

I am a bilateral breast cancer survivor having had a mastectomy on each side, 16 yrs apart. The right was a tram flap reconstruction & the left a failed implant reconstruction leaving me with a large ugly scar. Dr. Derby assured me that he would create a left breast and he would also make the reconstructed breast match, The transformation is so amazing, the experience remarkably positive & I am extremely happy. Dr. Derby builds trust, is respectful & provides continual, amazing personal care.

I thought I was having the worse day of my life when a neighbor's dog bit off a huge chunk of my upper lip. Instead, it turned out to be a great day. Dr Derby saw me immediately and repaired the defect so beautifully that the scar is hardly noticeable 6 weeks later. Plus, he is an awesome person - super sweet, humble, easy to talk to . . . off the charts winner!

What is really needed in Dr. Derby's reviews is a sixth star. As you can note from reading previous patient comments, he is professional and compassionate in everything he does from the time you are admitted through the thoughtful follow-ups he makes personally. The whole experience was so comfortable and rewarding, I almost wish there were something else I needed stitched up.
