He was running late. Otherwise, very nice visit.

I thought Dr Weinzapfel was very informative and he took the time with you to explain every aspect of your situation. He gave you different options to try and wants to make sure that you were a big part of you treatment options. I would recommend Him and the TriState doctors for all your needs.

He was running behind considerably, but at least ordered proper tests to figure out what is wrong with my back- which was the purpose of my visit. Maybe the facility overbooks him?

Dr. Weinzapfel is an excellent surgeon and specialist. He listens intently to your concerns, all the while keeping eye contact with you, and is cognizant of your body language. I believe this is extremely important in treating the whole person. He is kind, calm, very professional, and exudes confidence. He does all necessary testing , so he can make a correct diagnosis. I feel very fortunate to have him as my surgeon and orthopedic doctor. He is an extremely brilliant man and I trust him with my orthopedic needs. I highly recommend him.

Since Dr. Weinzapfel did my surgery 11 years ago I have struggled to find anybody to help me the way he does. I went back for another appointment yesterday and he actually manipulated my body to see what was wrong ordered an x-ray and an MRI to see what he can do to help me. I would recommend him to anybody!

Very friendly and helpful staff. Dr. Weinzapfel, the nurse practitioner were polite and answered my questions in an understandable way. They did not make me feel that I was being rushed in my questions. This says a lot to me. Giving time to the patient is the greatest.

Dr. Brett Wienzapfel performed L4 L5 back fusion surgery with titanium replacement disc in October 2018. The surgery took about 8 1/2 hours. Immediately after surgery I knew that something was wrong with my left leg. My toes were tingling in pain and my calf was numb. It hurt to the touch. I told the doctor right away but I was dismissed. He went home. I remained in the hospital the transferred to a rehab facility for three weeks. One day I could walk with my walker then then next my left leg wouldn’t even move or hold me up. Sometimes pain would shoot up my body so sharply that I have to scream. One month after surgery I ended up in the emergency room to be admitted for additional surgery on the insistence of my visiting nurse. It was determined through C-scan that one of the surgical screws had been inserted improperly crimping a nerve causing damage. I have received a Neurostimulator implant after a few spinal injections and months of pain management, none of which have improved my ability to walk, take care of myself or socialize like I did prior to surgery. This guy should never be doing back surgery. On top of all this he had the gall to comment on the amount of back fat that I had suggesting it was an excuse for his error (No more than he himself had) Get a neurosurgeon if you need back surgery. October 5, 2021 update- while I still stand behind my review. However I must add that I have Spinal Stenosis. This changes my opinion of this physician in the sense that I would be disabled regardless of the surgery outcome. Therefore I must accept that Dr. Wienzapfel had no true impact on the remainder of my condition as this is incurable. Dr.Weinzapfel has done a cervical and a lumbar surgery on me. Both were very successful and I am happy to say he did an excellent job. Everyone in his office is exceptional. Thank you Dr. Weinzapfel!

Have seen Dr Weinzapfel on a couple occasions, for cervical pain from an injury I sustained while on active duty with US Navy. The doctors I've seen about my legs and my back and all the pain I've had for the past four years and it keeps getting worse. Dr. Weinzapfel took the time to go over with me on x-rays and all that he had to show me. Show me what I needed to do what should be done and if you can do it very honest very open man. He also listen to everything I said and asked for. Brett Weinzapfel was a very nice (and knowledgeable) doc. I’m sure I’ll be seeing him adding to try to solve the problems I have encountered with my double, etc.

My husband James little saw dr Weinzapfel for neck pain ... first visit he came up with a plan and let us decide how we wanted to proceed...he was easy to talk to ,listened ,and very to the point with his knowledge...we are so happy that we got an appt with him

Dr. Weinzapfel was very thorough and professional about explaining what was wrong with my back, he went it full details to explain what I needed. What a refreshing change! Dr Weinzapfel explained the findings of the MRI and XRay using the actual images. He explained options for my condition and the next steps to take. He did not seem rushed or above explaining the situation. He also conducted a basic physical examination that provided him additional information. He took written notes as he asked me questions. Another member of his staff also answered additional questions later, using the images, that I had forgotten to ask the doctor about when I saw him. She was also professional and not rushed. I highly recommend Dr. Weinzapfel and his staff.

Dr Weinzapfel performed C5-C6 and C6-C7 cervical disc replacement using Biomet Mobi-C. I was experiencing a lot of pain in my neck, shoulder, and arm. So much pain that it was difficult sitting at my desk at work, sleeping at night, or doing any exercises. From the minute I woke up in recovery, the pain in my neck, shoulder, and arm was all gone. And best of all, the pain is gone for good! I cannot believe how good it feels to sit and sleep without pain. I am back exercising with absolutely NO PAIN. I felt confidence in Dr Weinzapfel and he was thorough in explaining the surgery procedure. I highly recommend Dr Weinzapfel to anyone experiencing pain in the neck or back areas.

Dr. Weinzapfel was professional and patient with my questions. He and his staff made every effort to explain my current situation, options for improvement and exactly what to expect. I highly recommend this team to anyone with these types of issues.

Dr. Weinzapfel was extremely professional and easy to communicate with. He answered all my questions honestly, and effectively. His manner and keenness for patient education made me confident in his directions. Overall, it was a nice change of pace from other doctor's I had seen about a spinal issue.

Preformed a laminotomy and discectomy on my lower back and had excellent results. Great at explaining what to expect.Very impressed.

After years of lower back pain that adversely affected my quality of life, Dr Weinzapfel fixed my back pain. Everything he told me about my surgery and recovery was exactly what happened. Thank you Dr Weinzapfel!

I had a bulging disc at c5-6 that was putting pressure on nerves running down my right arm, Dr. Weinzapfel used a mobi-c artificial replacement disc to fix my cervical neck problem. He did an awesome job, he is very patient caring, and he explained the pre-op and post-op at his office consultation very thorough. The surgery went well and he was able to stop my arm pain and finger numbness and i was able to turn my head from side to side and up and down with no pain in my neck, also I was able to go home that evening after surgery. I am very pleased with everything. I wouldn’t hesitate to use Dr. Weinzapfel again for any other surgery in the future. Thanks

Dr. Weinzapfel took the time to fully explain my procedure and answer all questions that I had.

Dr. Weinzapfel has done 2 operations on my neck and I have been almost pain free for over 5 years, which is wonderful.

My opinion, he is a skilled and compassionate surgeon. His staff members are very cordial .

Thanks to Dr. Weinzapfel and his staff for making my decision to go through my procedure with confidence knowing I had such a wonderful team looking out for my well being and confidence that I would be pain free once again.

Excellent Doctor

My left leg and lower back was in terrible pain. I couldn't sit my left side hurt so bad. I had to lie on my right side most of the time. I was in so much pain I couldn't do any of the normal things that i used to do. Immediately after surgery I was pain free. It was wonderful! Dr. Weinzapfel was explained the surgery that he would perform in layman's terms to my husband and I. I was so thankful that the surgery went well.

Love Dr.Weinzapfel , I wouldnt trust my back to any other surgeon but him. To all that took such good care of me with all my surgery including nurses & tech " thank you" I would highly recommend Dr.Weinzapfel to every one I no who has problems with their back. Thank you Elizabeth Murray

I will absolutely recommend Dr. Brett to anyone. I had seen 2 other surgeons and was not comfortable with their recommendations. Dr. Brett showed me the MRI and pointed out where nerves were being pinched in 2 different places in my spine. He then described what he could do to relieve my pain. He did surgery August 24 and since August 25 I have been pain free and no pain meds needed. I’m a new person. Thanks Dr. Brett

Just relocating here from Nashville I needed a new doctor for on going back pain following a surgery. Dr Weinzapfel was recommend to me by a friend. I found him to be one of the most caring back doctors I have ever been to!!!! He was conservative, waiting for all the test results are in. He had excellent communication skills , an advise. He took his time with you, not hurried threw. I was highly pleased an grateful to find a new Dr. I highly recommend Dr Weinzapfel

Dr Weinzapfel performed my L-4-L-5 fusion and total hip replacement. I now have no sciatica and no hip pain. I trusted him to make the best decision for my surgery each time and would again in the future. He answers your questions and explains what he will do in surgery. He is a superstar surgeon!

I had a c5/c6 c6/c7 disk replacement due to herniated disks caused by a softball accident. I chose this option, rather than a fusion, so I could have less recovery time and more mobility after recovery. Dr Weinzapel is very knowledgeable and offers great communication with his patients.

I woke up last Dec. with awful sciatica. My doc told me I wasn't a candidate for surgery & gave me pain meds. Then he sent me to PT but still insisted stress was causing my pain. Then I got a referral to Tri State. MRI showed a herniated disc at L4L5. I was a candidate for surgery. We tried injections 1st. The 1st one was ok but the 2nd had no impact. Then I requested Dr. Weinzapfel. Within a couple of weeks I had the micro surgery and felt immediate relief when I woke up. Today I am pain free!

Excellent doctor and surgeon. Never rushed and always listens and is extremely knowledgeable and personable. In my opinion there is no one better

I was extremely happy with the results from my L4-L5 disk fragmentation removal. The procedure was done with minimal surgery. The pain was gone immediately after surgery. Great experience and if needed would do it again. Thank you to everyone who attended to me. Very professional and encouraging.

Awesome doctor!!! I have had 2 back surgery's with Dr. Weinzapfel and both of them went great I felt better right after surgery. He explained everything that he was going to do at surgery.

I have had two other cervical fusions. He evaluated me well and gave me options. Definitely the nuerologist to see in town

If I could give this Doctor 10 stars I would. I trust this man with my life. He does EXCELLENT WORK and he CARES ABOUT HIS PATIENTS. I cannot express my gratitude for what he has done for me. Thank you is just not enough. He listens to you completely and explains everything to you. . The trust I have in this man, well I don’t know who else other than my husband I have that much trust in. If anyone I mean anyone needs back surgery, call this man. He’s well worth it and he thinks you are too.

I waited just under 3 hrs after I got signed in at ortho urgent care to see dr weinzapfel and once he finally got to my room he was there maybe 3 min and I was on my way. He seemed rushed and I felt that I was just pushed through as fast as possible so he could get on to the next patient!

Dr. Weinzapfel has done my upper neck fusion and now my lower back fusion. From the beginning, he listened to me and we tried many things before the surgery. He speaks in terms I can understand and let me know exactly what to expect. I am doing wonderful and recommend him to all my friends. Rare to find a Dr who listens and is not arrogant. All my family will go to himif they need help with their back because of what they have seen with me.
