About Dr. Brent Andrew Patterson
Reviews for Dr. Brent Andrew Patterson
This review is a bit delayed, but better late than never. I independently sought out Dr. Patterson prior to a scheduled total knee replacement. I was not cleared by my PCP & needed a cardiology consult. With surgery less than 2 weeks away, I was under the gun & as a registered nurse, knew the gravity of the situation I was facing. I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Patterson‘s attention to detail & understanding of the critical timeline I was facing. There are many practitioners today who could learn from Dr. Patterson’s compassionate understanding & patient interaction. The office staff @ the Garland location performed their duties efficiently with positivity & courtesy. I thank you once again for scheduling my diagnostic tests at the last minute & clearing me for the surgical procedure. Just don’t ask me if I will get the other knee replacement, L O L! With Kind Regards, Doreen Skurkey Patient 12/2021

Highly recommend Dr. Patterson at the Heart Place, he's been my doc for a few years now and he listens to his patients and cares and is a good doc.
Dr Patterson has jumped right in to work with mom's neuro to help determine her prior and future stroke risks. He is efficient with time and is very thorough with his explanations and listening to our questions/concerns during the appt. Feel very comfortable with the level of care received to date.

Very friendly staff and a physician that truly shows empathy and care for his patients. I am glad that I finally took the steps to live a longer and happier life.

I’ve been a patient of Heart Place since 2012 and Dr Brent Patterson has saved my life!!! My family history of heart disease I have outlived my father by 7 years so far and have many more to look forward to because of the doctors in this practice
I started seeing Dr Patterson in November 2020 for Acute HTN. He has gone above and beyond to find the root cause and continues to monitor and change meds as necessary. Would highly recommend him and this practice location. Staff is awesome too
Appointment today with Dr. Brent Patterson. Brent is very straight forward physician who is easy to talk to and easy to understand. I'm completely at ease in discussing my health issues and have full faith in his recommendations. Highly recommend.
Dr. Patterson and his staff are very loving peoples. Dr. Patterson is my Sister, Brother in law doctor and we just love him. If anyone is looking for a doctor that is passion with his patient he is the one. He is very straight forward with lots of care for his patient. Join our Family
I have been with Dr. Patterson for three years. Two Echo-Cardiograph stress tests, one Carotid sonogram in this time period. I scheduled my first visit in 2018 with concerns about possible irregularities in my heart rate. My first stress test results were thoroughly explained to me by Dr. Patterson. I left the first consultation informed and and secure in my physical condition. All annual follow ups have been thorough, conducted in a very professional manner and a relaxed atmosphere. I find Dr. Patterson to be easy to talk with and he has alternate options for my existing condition. He is definitely my Go To guy. I strongly recommend Dr. Patterson for your Cardio concerns. Dr. Patterson and the staff at HeartPlace are truly awesome! The wait time is minimal and I have never had 1 negative experience. Dr. Patterson is personable and has a great bedside manner and really makes you feel comfortable. The staff are very friendly and seem to love their jobs!
My wife was referred to Dr. Patterson at Heart Place for assessment and subsequent testing at their facilities. I found Dr. Patterson to be very pleasant and willing to listen to her concerns. He was thorough in his preliminary evaluation and happy to explain the things we did not understand. In addition, I experienced smiling faces and a pleasant demeanor while dealing with the office personnel. It will be unfair not to mention Kimberly and Fanny they were very friendly and professional. Snarky if you venture to ask a question.
The RT starting my IV dropped her glove on the floor and picked it up and put it on. While in the imaging chair they unnecessarily raised my legs so high as to cause severe back pain that persisted for 3 weeks. The finals scan took way too long. I finally perceived that some images took as little as 15 seconds and that some were taking minutes before the chair rotated to the next position. I finally convinced one of the techs (they always seem to presume the lay person is an idiot) that there was a great inconsistency and they agreed the positioning was wrong. The it progressed quite quickly. When I left the office and got into the hallway I was unable to walk to my car.
Dr. Patterson took the time needed to explain results of the tests given me and he was not rushed at all. He answered all my questions. Very good experience.
I was impressed with Dr. Patterson on my first visit. However, after three reschedules, my fault I was late because of the accidents on 635 in poring rain, two days out of three. The final time, was today. I talked with Mr. Tom Johnston , VP Operations, Heart Place. My affiliation with everyone at Heart Place was and has been permanently terminated. I expressed to all within hearing range of Dr Patterson, that I did not trust him, or his staff. I demanded a copy of my Patient Records, I was surprised to learn that I did not recognize the person they were describing in my chart nor did my patient portal have any of the information given to me. You have fictionalized my records, which means they were falsified. I see no recourse but to advise his Mal-Practice Carrier, and the board of Medical Ethics. Very hard to get in for apt without waiting weeks. The main problem is calling to ask about you prescritions, they wont do anything unless you go in for an apointment, which give more times for meds to cause issues. And if you call there is nothing bit machine after machine and so hard to get things done or info needed... I guess we need to find a doc that has more of an open schedule. Always treats my 85 year old Dad with concern and care. Takes his time to listen and respond to my Dad, which can be very lengthy most of the time. He is kind and patient as well. An A++ in my opinion.
BEST heart doctor ever!!! I always feel taken care of and my questions answered. he spends extra time if needed. i appreciate him.
takes time with me and is very good listener. really cares about his patients. thanks
excellent care. thanks for taking care of me.
Started seeing Brent Patterson, MD after a hospitalization where my regular doctor did not have visiting privileges. He ordered several echos but never did a catheterization even though my EF numbers were in the 30’s for five months. He always seemed confused and unsure of himself. I can’t believe he has been practicing for 11 years. He just seems so inexperienced, always trying a different medication with no positive results. The last straw came when his staff called me two hours before a scheduled appointment and said I needed to come in early due to “scheduling issues”. I got there as quickly as I could only to be told that I would still have to reschedule without seeing the doctor. I asked if he had an emergency and was told that he had not, but that he just had to get to the hospital to see patients. My final experience was when his office called in a refill to my pharmacy with the wrong dosage levels! My advice-steer clear and get a doc who doesn’t need training wheels.
The visit was after an interventional surgeon performing a liver/lung biopsy noticed a-fib occurring during anesthesiology and recommended an office visit to cardiologist. Dr. tested and explained the problem well, I was pleased and have seen Dr. Patterson for 6 years and never had a complaint and was well satisfied with diagnosis and treatment. Will recommend him to anyone who needs a cardiologist.
Excellent!
I had my follow up with Dr. Patterson following a cardiac cath procedure. He explained the results of the procedure and my next steps. He is very thorough and answers any questions you have. Thumbs up to Dr. Patterson.
really top notch doc and really takes care of me. thanks from the bottom of my heart
Worse Doc I've encountered. My Dad was and had been having some heart issues and had seen Dr Patterson for several years with no improvement. He prescribed a drug that had contraindications with other meds he was taking that caused him issues. I went to 2 appt's with my Dad to see him and he was very rude to my Dad on several occasions. We switched Docs and are lucky we did as we found out he has had a heart murmur for years, something any other decent Doc can hear through a stethoscope, and his aortic valve was just about shut down. Normal flow through the aorta is 1.8-2 and Dads was at .6, which is very critical. You actually have to seek the root cause of issues before you start just treating everything with meds and that is all Doc Patterson ever did. The only test he ever ran was a stress test and then said "well lets try this drug" and if that didn't work he would change the dosage. We replaced the valve this morning and Dad is doing much better. I would not recommend Dr Patterson to anyone you care about. Worse Doc I've encountered. My Dad was having issues and saw Dr Patterson. All he seemed to do for my Dad was try different meds in trying to treat the symptoms without finding the root cause. I finally went with my Dad on 2 visits and decided right then we were going to find a new Doc for him. Went to the North Texas Heart Center and found a great Doc that ran tests and found the root of the problem. My Dad's aortic valve was critical and needed replacing. Patterson is a script writing Doc at best and not worth the time.
Dr. Patterson is a great cardiologist who really listens to his patients.

My husband and sister see Dr Patterson. He is very face to face with his patients.
Dr. Brent Patterson is very thorough and explained what was wrong with my heart in great detail. Hes personal and does his best to make sure to let you understand what was wrong. Only my second visit to a cardiologist and I'm thankful to be under his care.
I was impressed the very first time I met Dr. Patterson. Not only knowledgeable and a great doctor, but he puts you at ease. He takes the time to listen to you and answer questions. At no point did I feel like I was being rusher through as I have with many other doctors. He addressed my concerns and explained everything in language anyone can understand. He staff is friendly and kind and easy to laugh and put you at ease. This is a well run office.
We really like Dr. Patterson and feel he has helped David so much with his heart issues. We can tell that he is very knowledgeable in his field. We are very pleased with the care he has given David.
Dr. Patterson treats me with the utmost respect. He is very interested in my problem, even though it is apparently no more than high blood pressure (although that can be/become very serious). He takes a methodical approach by adding, subtracting and/or adjusting my medications until we achieve the desired outcome. He answers my questions clearly in layman's terms. I am very please with the care he has given for the year or so that I have been his patient.
He is a good Dr- very friendly and concerned

Dr. Patterson really disappointed, shamed, traumatized, and hurt me dearly! All behind his love, and extreme affection for administering drugs! Sick of drugs coming before humanity, and love for patient's health seems to not exist, and of non-importance! What a Sad Commentary, and Statement of Facts to Declare!
Dr. Patterson takes time to answer all your questions in language you can understand. He explains in detail your test results and your options.
Explained my heart condition in very easy to understand descriptions, even drew pictures on how my heart was working. Very pleasant and complete doctor.
Dr Patterson is very personable and takes the time to answer your questions. He also stays up on current technology and trends. In my case he searched for an alternative to Staten drugs to lower my cholesterol. And most importantly he saved my life.
Dr Patterson spends quality time with you. And he explains what's happening with your heart. Any tests you have he throughly explains.
