Dr. Brent A Felix

Dr. Felix is an outstanding spine surgery specialist, and his physician assistant, Jeff Pulley, provides caring and attentive followup. Our family member required serious spine surgery and insertion of “pins”—titanium screws to hold the lumbar vertebrae together, which had become damaged over time. The surgery is very complicated, and the rehab takes 4-8 months and isn’t a “cinch,” but she is now fully recovered and out of excruciating pain, thanks to Dr. Felix, Mr Pulley and the staff at Alpine Orthopedic Surgery and Cache Valley Hospital. Thank you, Dr. Felix, Jeff Pulley, Alpine Orthopedic, Cache Valley and staff.

I am Dr. Felix and his Staff’s biggest fan. I was not excited when I found out I needed back surgery. I was concerned that my back would never feel good again and would trouble me for the rest of my life. But having tried everything else without good results the only option left was surgery. Well Dr. Felix did a fantastic job and my back and sciatic feel better than they have for years. Dr. Felix, Jeff and Toni were great and answered all my questions and provided me with great care. I can’t thank them enough and I can’t wait for warm weather so I can get back on the golf course.

Dr. Felix changed my life literally. Prior to surgery I was unable to even get out of bed. His office staff took great care of me and I feel like Dr. Felix was very thorough and detail oriented. I would highly recommend him.

UPDATED: Dr. Felix has had a positive 4 of 4 successful outcomes over the past 17 years (previously 3 for 3 on 3 my surgeries over the past 15 years): 3 back (microdiscectomies) and 1 neck (ACDF). Dr Felix and Mark Waters are amazing. I had a spine fusion surgery done with them and I am feeling so much better than before. I was nervous to have surgery but I’m so glad I moved forward with it. 6-Month Follow Up Note - Admin team hasn’t even reached out to me to schedule some injections even though my appointment with the Dr was 3 weeks ago and my insurance approved them within the first week. Three months ago Dr. Felix performed spinal surgery on me. I feel as if I have been given back my life. My pain is gone and I can do more than I have been able to do in years. Dr. Felix was very kind and took the time to listen to all my many concerns, and to address them most satisfactorily. His office staff was wonderful and very supportive. all in all the experience was very positive.

I am exactly 3 months out from TLIF surgery, I am so happy with the results. My first Appointment with Dr. Felix was outstanding. He was thorough, reviewed every option with me, and reviewed my past surgeries and my physical history with me. From the results I have experienced , Dr. Felix is a very skilled surgeon. Post surgery with PA-C Jeffrey Pulley has been nothing but the best. His people skills are outstanding, and he spends plenty of time with me each appointment to ensure he explains things thoroughly, and answers all my questions. I had some complications within the first three weeks after the surgery, and my wife called Jeff three or four times in the middle of the night to get the help I needed. He called back each time within two minutes after being notified by the on-call assistant. At age 54, I am still Active, and athletic, and my goal is to “get back in the game“, Dr. Felix and Jeff Pulley knew that my goal was to stay active for as many years as possible. With this surgery, and all the support after, I feel like I’m on my way to hiking running biking and other things I enjoy doing The last person I want to mention is Toni. She is the administrative assistant that supports Dr. Felix and PAC Pulley. Long story short, she helped to make all this happen in a timely manner, meaning she worked with my insurance company through some difficulties, and did her magic and found a way to make it happen. Additionally she calls me back on every phone call message I leave with her and provides everything I need. Her happy demeanor, professionalism, and desire to help the patients is 100% evident in all that she does. There is nothing pleasant about back surgery, and this was my second surgery. By far the best specialist I have seen to date. He listened to all my concerns, answered my questions and gave me solutions to hopefully correct the issues I have been having for years. Time will tell but my overall first impressions were excellent. I would definitely recommend Dr. Felix to anyone.

Having pain so bad that you can't do the simplest tasks is devastating. I felt helpless. Thanks to Dr. Felix and is awesome staff. Worst office experience EVER! My first appointment Dr. Felix was 45 minutes late, hadn't looked at my previous testing before walking in the room and spent less than five minutes with me. My second appointment the office staff couldn't use the iPads because they hadn't updated the software and couldn't find the passwords. Doctor was 40 minutes late. My third appointment I waited for 75 minutes before finally just walking out without being seen. Apparently, the computers were down again. If this office cannot operate basic technology there is no way they are going to operate on my spine! Worst office experience EVER! I was treated for months by another doctor for a wrong diagnosis. Dr. Felix quickly diagnosed the problem, treated it and I am very grateful. Excellent, caring doctor.

My mom could not walk more than a block because of the pain in her back and legs. Dr. Felix operated and she has a new life. We could not be more happy with the care we received from him and his staff.

I started having back pains when I was first pregnant many years ago. With each pregnancy (4) it got worse and worse. Finally I had enough and when to get my back evaluated. I has 2 slipped disks that was causing my back to shift and cause pain. Doc Felix went over my options and I chose to have a fusion surgery even though some people told me I shouldn't. I am glad I didn't listen to those people because I am like a new women. I am even back hiking which I haven't been able to do for years.

I am writing this review for my mother who fractured her back during a fall in her garage. She fracture 2 bones in her back. She could hardly move and was needing a wheelchair to get around. Dr. Felix did a procedure and filled the bone up with cement and literally 1 day later she was feeling 90% better. Now she is a few weeks out and basically back to normal. So appreciative!!!

I had progressively worsening neck pains over the past 10 years. It got worse rapidly which resulted in pain going down my arm. I had a couple shots in my neck which would help for only a few days. What I really needed was surgery which made all the deference. I healed quickly and have no more pains.

A great doctor and a nice person. He talks to you on your level and makes sure that you are comfortable with the plan. He did a great job fixing my bulged disc in the back. I am very pleased with how things turned out.

I came to Dr. Felix from Idaho as a referral from my other doctor. I was a little worried about traveling over 2 hours but now I am so glad I did. He was very thorough when I saw him and answered any and all questions I had. 2 weeks later I had surgery on my L4-5 and was doing so well I was able to leave the hospital the next morning. I am now 6 weeks out and am doing great. So glad I traveled the distance to get to Dr. Felix.

I got hurt while unloading a truck at work. I had never felt such bad pains. My boss sent me to the doctor and they said I just sprained my back. Well several weeks went by and it wasn't getting better. After workers comp jerking me around for several months I was finally sent to Dr. Felix. He reviewed my xrays and mri and we decided surgery was the best plan. I am glad that is what finally happened because since then I feel 100% better and it has only been a few weeks.

Both my husband and I have both had the joy of working with Dr. Felix. Several years ago he did a neck surgery on my husband who got injured at work. Earlies this year I herniated a disk in my lower back that left me in extreme pains. I couldn't hardly move. I called Dr. Felix's office and was pleased to find that I would be seen that very day. He helped a great deal and after a short time it was deemed necessary to have surgery. I was terrified but knew it was what needed to be done. I am not a couple of months out from surgery and am back to 100%. So grateful for Dr. Felix and the wonderful people at his office and surgery center.

Dr Felix did my 1st surgery 14 yrs ago. Best thing I ever did. So when I started with major problems again and exhausted all other treatments I called Dr Felix again. I'm 8 weeks out and already feel so much better.. I trust him with my life.

I was getting worse and worse pains progressively over months. I couldn't stand it any longer. Finally I got an MRI and showed pinching on 2 nerves in my back. Dr. Felix got me fixed up in a Jiffy. Just in time for hunting season.

Surgery isn't always needed. I was certain that when I met with Dr. Felix I was going to have to have surgery. After his visit and review of my MRI he felt like we didn't need to rush off to surgery. I was glad to try some other options. I got an injection and did physical therapy and gradually improved even without surgery. I really appreciated not being rushed right to surgery.

I saw a spine doctor in California who thought I needed surgery but I didn't fully trust him. I later moved to Northern Utah for work and was still struggling with my herniated disc. I looked online and saw that Dr. Felix had good reviews and so I made an appointment. He wasn't pushy or condescending at all. I decided to have surgery. I am thrilled with the results. I had my first post op today with the PA Jeff and I'm doing great. No pains at all. Its the first time in years that my back and leg haven't hurt.

Herniated a disc in my back at crossfit. I should have known better. I did not want surgery but everything I tried didn't help. My wife got me an appointment with Dr. Felix and it was a really good decision because 1 weeks later I had a micro disc surgery and it went great. I am now totally healed and don't plan on doing dead lifts again anytime soon.

Dr. Felix is really well respected in Cache Valley and now I know why. I had neck problem for years that I kept putting off because I was nervous. It got to the point where the pains prevented me from quilting (which I love). I went to see him for a consult after being sent from my primary doctor. I needed a 2 level fusion which wasn't nearly as hard as I thought it might be. I wish I would have known sooner because I wouldn't have waited so long.

Just a great experience. Very informative visit with Dr. Felix. He treated me like my opinions mattered. He just didn't tell me what I needed. He gave me several options and we made the plan together as a team. I felt really good about it. So far I am doing great and healing up well.

I fell getting out of bed and fractured my back. The ER told me it was a compressed fracture and recommended that I see Dr. Felix. I met with him the next day and shortly thereafter had a procedure to fix the fracture. It was done in his office and I didn't feel a thing. Within days the fracture felt almost 100% better.

I love Dr. Felix and Jeff Pully. Dr Felix could was amazing and I am so happy with my results. He fused my back just a few weeks ago and I am already more active than I had been for years. Dr. Felix explained things very clearly and Jeff was helpful throughout the process. I would give 6 stars if that was allowed.

I had surgery from a back doctor in Ogden and woke up feeling worse. That doctor told me nothing was wrong and sent me away. I then went to Dr. Felix and he was able to go in and fix the problem. The first doctor left bone fragments pushing on my nerve. I'm so glad Dr. Felix found and fixed the problem. I wish I would have seen him first.

Had both neck and back done by Dr. Felix. My neck surgery went really good and I was able to feel in both hands again. My back surgery went even better and have not had pain for months. If I could give him more than 5 stars I would.

My neck had been bothering for several months and everything I tried seemed to make it worse. I started getting pain so bad down my right arm I would barely stand it. I was recommended to Dr. Felix from a nurse from the hospital and was able to get in and see him quickly. He pin pointed my issue and we scheduled surgery. I am so glad I did. I am back golfing and riding my bike regularly.

I was sent to Dr. Felix from the emergency room because the pain was so bad. I had struggled with leg pains for some time that recently got a lot worse. I had x-rays and a MRI done and after trying a couple things that didn't take the pain all the way away we set up surgery. He answered all my questions and surgery went great. Super happy!

Best doctor around. I have seen 2 other surgeons for my back that I did not feel comfortable with. After my appointment with Dr. Felix I felt at peace finally. Great Doctor. I loved my experience with Dr. Felix. His P.A. Jeff was very helpful as well. Neck surgery could not have gone better. I really didn't want to have surgery and tried EVERYTHING to try and treat my pain. I either had to live in misery or have surgery. I'm so glad I did and never looked back. If I could give Dr. Felix 10 stars I would.

My experience with Dr. Felix has been a stunning success. My journey started with a fusion of the L4-5 iin 2000 (degenerative disc issue), then a horrific accident in 2002 led to the next fusion of multiple vertebrae in 2003. I am now stabilized from the L5 clear up to the T10. It made the difference between a wheelchair and walking. The only things I have lost are the ability to do the limbo and riding our horses. My husband has also had 3 surgeries: a laminectomy (to prolong the need for a fusion for a couple years, which it did), the L4-5 fusion in 2012, then the L3-4 this year. Before my surgery I had several injections to relieve my Sciatica pain, they never worked for me. I have to say that doctor Felix is a fantastic. Doctor if it wasn't for him. I would still be in a wheelchair. Trying to get around. I guess you could say he's saved my bacon. I had this issue for 15 years. And could not find a doctor in the state of Utah. To treat this issue. Dr. Felix stepped up I now can walk without no pain. And I am blessed to have a doctor such as Doctor Felix.

Doc Felix performed my L5-S1 spinal fusion a year ago. He is an amazing surgeon - he gave me back the ability to waterski. Snow ski, mountain bike, and hike all pain free!! Forever grateful for his amazing skills.

He did back surgery on me. I felt worse after the surgery. I had to have another surgery after to correct the one he did. The second doctor found bone fragments left be Dr Felix. Not a good experience.

I had been told several horror stories about spinal fusion surgery from associates that I work with. My experience was totally not what I was expecting. Everything went well and I was very pleased with the outcome. If I had known how much of a difference it was going to make in my day to day activities I would have done it sooner. Dr Felix and Mark were the best and explained everything. I felt very comfortable.

Do not see this doctor he is only in office one day a week. His medical assistant Toni is awful she wasted two weeks of my time because she needed to talk to doc but he’s never there. I was in horribly pain. Doc didn’t even pay attention at my appt.

I was in an accident and broke my back the day after I turned 19. I was 2 centimeters away from being paralyzed from the waist down. Dr. Felix fused 3 of my lower vertebrae in a six hour surgery at apx. $36,000. It is hard for me to express my gratitude for him. He came to Logan, UT while he worked and probably lived in SLC. He said he did about 200 of those surgeries per year. In April of that same year I served a mission for the LDS Church and did not have any back problems during that time. I can run, jog, carry my kids, lift weights, hop up 9 flights of stairs, etc. with no back pain. I wish Google Review would let me give Dr. Felix a million stars. Dr. Felix's expertise probably saved from husband's life and/or the possibility of living in a wheelchair. For that level of care and service, I will be forever grateful! My personal experience was not quite as good - 1) I never spoke with Dr. Felix personally, and 2) when I did finally get the MRI I wanted, and "discussed" it with Mark, I had to explain some of the terms that the radiologist used. So, though I know I do not have any immediate concerns (regarding my cervical spine), I am not sure how, what, why, or what next? Again, great job caring for my husband! And, Mark's positive and upbeat attitude is energizing... I would certainly choose Dr. Felix (any doctor at SLOC) again if the need arose.
