I have been a patient with Dr. Smith since she came to Bellingham from Atlanta back in the 90's. She is the best GYN Dr. Never any pain during an exam, spends lots of time and covers all my health concerns professionally, yet personally. And I adore her front office guy Tom (her other half). She figures out how to address my pain,weird health issues, and regulate my hormones as I've grown through menopause. I'm going to miss her when she retires.

I've gone to Dr Smith for many years and regularly recommend her. Everyone who has subsequently gone to her has told me they are also pleased.

I do not recommend Dr Smith. I called having pain and asked for an ultrasound. This came back normal so she didn't bother to investigate other causes, not even an appointment in the office. She's always rude and does the bare minimum. I was second guessing switching doctors after the last incident there, now I definitely am switching .

When I asked about the possibility that I might have poly cystic ovarian syndrome she told the that was "hard to diagnose" and that I shouldn't worry about it until I was ready to have kids. Then when I said that I wasn't sure I ever wanted to have kids and that I was having pain during sex, which was why I bought it up in the first place, she just blew me off.

I had a terrible incident with Dr. Smith's clerk (who I found out later is also her husband), and I didn't keep my appointment. The clerk was very rude and angry with me about my confusion with new regulations because of The Affordable Care Act. He became enraged, and pounded his fist on the desk and screamed at me and would not let me get a word in edgewise. I asked to talk to the Dr. Turns out she was standing right there the whole time and did not stop him. Some major dysfunction going on.

Wonderful bedside manner. She is the best in this field and I would HIGHLY recommend her!
