The worst experience of my life. After experiencing a perforated abscess on my sigmoid colon, hospitalization, months of heavy antibiotics, steroid treatments, a PICC line placement. Etc etc. It was determined best to hold off on surgery until I was strong enough. Multiple colonoscopies, labs, and CT scans later I was still in unbearable pain, unexplained illness, now a newly diagnosed autoimmune disorder, and what appeared to be a metal object lodged in my colon. Several of my Specialists recommended I immediately see Dr. Das, I followed through and immediately set my appointment. Upon entry to the office, I found it chaotic, interns everywhere, lack of confidentiality as I could hear conversations pertaining to other patients etc. However I was positive with such high ratings Dr. Das would be professional and assist me. I was wrong. Once called back, he proceeded to minimize my experience and talk over me as I went through my medical history. His bedside manners were the worse I've ever seen. Hes arrogant and lacks empathy. Having a near death experience with a hole in my colon, had left me beaten and scarred for life only to be told I needed to see Dr. Das to determine what this metal object was that was showing up on the scans. When his intern/student entered the room, his arrogance worsened. It was as if he was giving a "show" for them. He took my medical records out my hand, without asking, and kept my cd. When I asked for it back, he laughed and stated no he'd use it to show other students. I found NOTHING funny. Clearly he doesnt value the lives of his patients. I wouldnt recommended this doctor to anyone. He sees you as only a number, not a person. His is most interested in impressing the interns/students and boasting in his success. I left his office in tears humiliated from the experience. I later found an exceptional doctor who took his time with me, was professional, removed 13 inches of my colon and essentially saved my life. Do yourself a favor and dont use Dr. Das. Find another physician who actually cares.

I spend my time teaching graduate nurses how to be their best servant self to take care of patients. Dr Das emulated this attitude when he took care of us. I will never forget his skill and his compassion. When you are facing something as bad as not being able to teach or stand on your feet without leaking on yourself, you realize how important these embarrassing issues are. Dr Das is clearly a master in this embarrassing field and took the time to make sure my concerns were being heard before we proceeded with a very easy two step procedure. I taught full time and picked up a covid shift the same day after surgery. It was amazing and changed my life. Thank you Dr Das.

Dr Das is simply the best Colorectal surgeon in Houston. He is very professional. I was out of the hospital the next morning after my Robotic surgery and have not looked back. If you need the very best, Dr Das is it.

Dr. Das is not only the consummate professional, but he is also a terrifically funny and personable guy. I highly recommend him for anyone facing colorectal issues. He puts patients at ease and utilizes the least invasive measures first. I felt totally relaxed and comfortable in his care. He is 5 stars all the way. After a complex operation when all other measures failed, he made a complex recovery go simply and well. My family and I are very thankful to him.

Dr. Das stopped his vacation, flew into town on short notice to conduct an emergency colon surgery on our son. He is an excellent doctor & surgeon. He takes the time with the patients and spends a lot of time being generous with us "the family" as well. If not for Dr. Das we most likely would have lost our son. Thank You!!

We were sent directly to him from Austin. No ifs, ands, or buts. Boy, are we thankful. Colon problem? He's the best-no brag, just fact. Can't speak highly enough of Dr. Das. Professionally, surgically, expertise wise, friendliness; he's the greatest. He's just great and down to earth. I hope I never need another surgery, but if I do, I'll ask Dr. Das to do it. Hands down.

I'm another person that came out of town to have my care in Houston, and I am so thankful I found Dr. Das. He really is exceptional. I consider myself very lucky that Dr Das was my surgeon when I needed help and after major abdominal surgery, I was able to leave the next morning, feeling surprising great! I was back on a Zoom meeting the next day after surgery. His secretary Annie is wonderful, too. I received world class treatment under his care.

Dr Das is outstanding. No wonder his office is so crowded. He took personal care of my case and sat there and made sure I had the best care offered. I am very proud to work for Memorial hermann and that Dr Das is one the stars of Memorial Hermann.

Excellent staff, facilities and care. Could not ask for better. Honestly cannot find anything negative from the professionalism to the care to the after surgery support. Strange to say I enjoyed the surgery, but as close to it as possible. You truly are in good hands with this surgeon and his team. Thanks.

Dr Das without a doubt is a consummate professional in his field and treated me for colon cancer. I was absolutely concerned about what could happen and how I would be treated and if it were treatable. He is confident, straightforward and very kind to my family. Getting married recently this was the last news we expected to hear. After surgery, I left the very next morning and I was on the driving range very soon after. Thankfully I did not need chemotherapy or radiation or another surgery ... but what did I expect after choosing Dr Das. He is great and a gentleman.

Dr. Das was brought in as a secondary surgeon by my Ob/Gyn when I was having a diagnostic laparoscopy for suspected problems with my rectum. I have seen him twice since my surgery and he has been wonderful and very concerned and attentive both times. His office seems to be extraordinarily good at arranging appointments on short notice as well. I would definitely recommend Dr. Das.

This guy is truly amazing. I selected Dr Das In Houston (Im from oak cliff) because of all the great reviews, so my expectations were high, yet he and his team exceeded my expectations for their caring, efficiency and professionalism! My colon surgery was my first surgery ever, so I was terrified. Dr Das' kind, calm, confident demeanor instantly made me comfortable. From our first meeting through the entire process, he was the best. H. His team during the surgery were truly amazing. I left the morning after surgery. If you or your loved one requires surgery, selecting Dr Das will be the best decision you'll ever make.

Dr. Das is AMAZING!! The Sugar Land staff is HORRIBLE!!!! I called several weeks ago to make an appointment for a very specific date and time frame. I was given May 21, but I couldn't remember what time. I called today (05/20/2021) for verification. I was on hold for 1 hour and 40 minutes before a real person cam to the phone, all the while being asked to patiently wait. Upon reaching a human voice, I was told that my appointment was JUNE 21, not MAY 21. I had specifically requested any time between May 19 and May 26. They gave me MAY 21. This is inexcusable for an office staff to be so unprofessional about dates/times and call wait time. Sorry, Dr. Das, I won't be seeing you again!

I recently underwent robotic colon surgery for cancer performed by Dr. Das. From my initial visit to his office through the operation and post-op follow-up, I've found him to very caring and makes sure you understand the options available. It also was life-changing. I left the hospital the same 24 hours. I never was rushed and he made sure all of my questions were answered. Also, Jodi and Nida make you feel welcome at the office, scheduling appointments and checking in after the surgery. Highly recommend Dr Das, and I have already made sure my sister and brother go to him for their colonoscopies.

In April 2020, I received a positive Cologuard test result. In October 2020, Dr. Das performed a colonoscopy and removed one polyp. Contrary to Dr. Das’s report as I received from his office in December 2020, he did not provide me with any pictures. Additionally, during my annual physical during March 2021, I found that my primary Physician had received a report from Dr Das that described what was done, but it did not include any pictures or information on polyp test results or follow up comments about the positive Cologuard test result. This is concerning

Dr Das took excellent care of my daughter. Although it can be hard to reach his office, I think I can see why. He is a busy surgeon who made my daughter feel like she was the only patient. I was referred to him by our GI team (I work at one of the hospitals in the Medical Center of Texas), and I could not be happier. After a minimally invasive surgery my daughter's cancer was removed without difficulty. Dr Das organized the oncology team, the nursing team, and there was a clear plan for us. His skills are obvious. He took the time to make sure everything was done right and he did it himself.

Dr. Das is the best. After colon cancer surgery I can dance with my husband!! Dr. Das is the best surgeon I have ever met and that I asked to help me (there have been several prior surgeons for other unrelated issues). He really goes out of his way to make his patients feel comfortable and to give them the best advice possible. For more than 12 years I delayed my colonoscopy because other doctors I felt were bullies. Finally a young medical doctor convinced me to have my colonoscopy; not only did Dr Das do my colonoscopy -- he unfortunately found my cancer. He treated me with surgery, and I felt amazing. Moral - research your doctor before having surgery done. I would have been in real trouble if I didn't pick Dr Das.

Dr. Das is absolutely great! I passed on another colorectal surgeon that my friend told me about. I thought it was ridiculouthat I went to see one surgeon only to be handed to another one of his "associates" -- I did't come to see his buddy! Thankfully, I was recommended to Dr. Das by two of my doctors. He was nice, and he made me feel comfortable. I was having bad diverticulosis attacks and I couldnt take it anymore and was constantly on antibiotics. Fast forward to a month later. I had my colon resectioned and I was out of the hospital the next morning. I felt good, and I cooked Thanksgiving dinner four days later. thank you so much for making our Thanksgiving special, Dr Das.

I had a great experience with Dr. Das. My GI tried to remove a polyp that was large TWO TIMES -- thats TWO colonoscopy Preps! That's way too much. I finally decided to get something done. I made an appointment with Dr. Das and was surprised to find out I qualified for partial colon resection to just get rid of the polyp and avoid cancer. I was delighted. After having my colon resection a month ago, I am back to flying (with safety precautions for the pandemic!) I was happy to know that thanks to Dr Das I narrowly avoided having a cancer still stuck in side me. If you qualify, I would highly recommend partial colon resection before having a GI try multiple colonoscopies to try to get the polyp out of you. I was home the same day after surgery in the morning; I was shocked!

May 2020 To Whom It May Concern: My mother 82 years old. She suffered with my stomach pain for six months. I never knew that she had colon cancer. She never thought to have surgery because she was so old and I thought she would not survive the surgery. But my family and friends gave me lots of support to convince her to have the surgery. My family doctor recommended a good surgeon, DrBidhan Das I had colon resection surgery performed by Dr. Das. It has been two months and I am doing very well, it’s as if I was never sick before. I would highly recommend Dr. Das to anyone because he saved my life. In my opinion, he has blessed hands from God.

Embarrassing problems.... how about having your mother tell you about her leakage problems. We did not how to address the issue.... what do you say? Our doctor did not help us...not that she's not great but what do we do. You call Dr Das. He is WONDERFUL. Kind, discreet doesnt make you feel bad for something THAT IS NOT YOUR FAULT. in two procedures he literally FIXED my mom's leakage. I am blown away --------- no one seemed to care but my mom was unable to have fun with me and my sisters. When it comes to fixing leakage or incontinence, Dr Das is the best, and we thank him.

I could not have asked for a better experience. I have the utmost faith in Dr. Das. His professionalism and demeanor make him ideal for handling traumatic circumstances. I cannot imagine there is a more qualified or caring Colorectal surgeon out there! Dr Das took care of me when they discovered I had nearly perforated my whole colon from diverticulitis. I was very lucky to pick him as my surgeon.

I am an RN and have met many doctors of varying specialties. Dr. Das is one of the best colon and rectal docs I have ever met. In fact, he was the colorectal surgery doc of choice for employees at a local hospital He takes his time with you and explains everything in detail using terms non-medical people can understand. He is thorough and will do everything possible to ensure your procedure is a success. My surgery was so fast and my recovery was faster. I left the same day after a hemi colectomy, and no one can find my scars - no incisions

Dr. Das is awesome. I needed colon surgery for cancer and had it done within one week thanks to Dr Das and his attention to me. He is a very caring and compassionate person. He listens and answers your questions and explains everything. I would recommend Dr. Das to anyone. He is an excellent physician and I am very grateful that he brought back a quality of life for me that I had not known in years -- It took me six months to gather the courage to get my diverticulitis taken care of. His office staff - Victoria and Lizeth are excellent. If you are in need of an Colon surgeon, Dr. Das is the one.

Dr. Das operated on our 26 year old daughter for diverticulitis. Our daughter had never had surgery before and my husband and I were extremely nervous/anxious. Dr. Das explained the whole procedure to us. His bedside manner was amazing. He was kind and was very sympathetic in addressing our fears. The operation was clearly successful. My daughter's wound is basically invisible. After surgery, she only took one pain pill. I believe that was due to Dr. Das' excellent surgery and also the fact that he spoke to us about what to do and not do as far as post-surgery care. I highly recommend Dr. Das - a great surgeon and a great person!

I. LOVE. DR. Das & Victoria!!!!! My overall experience was awesome! I gave them 5 stars across the board, but I’m not sure if went through. Victoria made me feel like I was her best friend right from the start and put me at ease right away! Dr. Das...I do not have enough superlatives!! He was so informative, yet patient with all my questions! He made me feel as if I was his only patient and therefore I had all his attention and his time! I've never had a nurse or Dr like them! I would give 10 stars if I could!! Last but not least...after having colon cancer and being told by my gastro guy that I would need surgery... I was a hot mess...but Dr Das and his confidence gave me faith. He is straight talk all the way.

My Husband had a Colectomy in March of 202 performed by Dr. Das. At 36 years of age he was quite nervous and did a lot of research online. We left our native Canada and flew to Houston for Dr Das. The information and videos I found only increased my concern. My experience from start to finish with DR. Das made the actual surgery a cake walk. He was respectful, caring, and honest. Almost six months later and I'm living my life to the fullest. I highly recommend Dr. Das. I flew across a border for him! I would do it again!

Please see earlier reviewing post. Dr. Das was awesome, what happened after he called me at 1:14 pm and said that everything went well and we should get out of Methodist (Med Ctr) inside an hour, was just wrong. It was after 5 pm when we left as the multiple stories we heard...doctor got called to an ad hoc procedure; doctor couldn't access site to leave discharge orders (and they were next to nothing, an elementary school person could have left them, or at least copied and pasted them); my mother heard another story from the staff when they thought she wasn't able to listen. I got stuck with maximum parking and a rented wheelchair for another day as all I could do was sit in their waiting room and do nothing as nobody fessed up about anything. Dr. Das is super--bedside manners and surgical abilities are number one. However, at what point do the patient's and those waiting for discharge come into place? Seemingly never does not work for me.

I highly recommend Dr. Das as he is very knowledgeable and an excellent surgeon. After two months of excruciating abdominal pain and seeing several other Doctors, who wanted to just cut right away-- Dr Das new exactly the problem with my mom's stomach. I was scared to have diverticulitis surgery. Dr. Das explained what needed to be done to allow me to be comfortable with surgery. He is friendly, caring, and helpful. My mom can now function and live her life again. Thank you!

I would look elsewhere. Dr. Das looks great on paper, but his bedside manner is THE WORST I have experienced in my life. Very unprofessional. I received no follow up information after an emergency surgery performed by Dr. Das. No at-home care instructions and sent home with no information about what procedures were performed. At a follow up appointment, when I asked questions about my next procedure, Dr. Das shamed me for wanting to know more because “I wasn’t the one performing the surgery”, snidely recommended that I buy the textbook on colorectal surgery, and said that the CRS within network for me were “a bunch of monkeys”. You can’t make this stuff up. I sought a second opinion, received excellent care and information about my condition. Dr. Das made an already traumatic experience worse with his incredible lack of empathy and care for a patient.

First of all I don't understand why some people mark a Doctor down for wait time. If the Doctor is great he spends more time with each patient if needed. When he is seeing you , your time with him is important; you don't want him to run you out because he is trying to keep a schedule. Dr Das is busy because he is a genius, he is worth waiting for. I had a total colectomy for two different cancers, I went home the next day, I was walking around the house with no assistance less then 36 hours after surgery. I saw Dr Das for a follow up 10 days later, I was doing great. On the 13th day I started swimming laps in the pool, feeling like I got my life back. It is now three weeks and I have almost forgot about the surgery, I feel like a new man.I have regained complete flexibility, I can touch my toes and put on clothes without feeling pressure in my stomach. It feels like a miracle! Thank You Dr Das

I'm writing this review for my mother in law, she went in for a consult for continence and leakage issues. The surgeon Dr. Das took time to explain, she felt very comfortable with him, his staff was knowledgeable and friendly. He made sure she had weighed her options before deciding on surgery, but she was comfortable with her decision and scheduled surgery for six weeks out. The surgery took place at Kirby Glen where everyone was amazing and accommodating to her needs. She knew exactly what to expect, they reviewed the paperwork with her and made sure she was comfortable with the process. The surgery went through without any issues and on time. Surgery was at 11:15 and by 12:30pm she was up and home safely with all the COVID precautions followed.. She has a great deal of gratitude to him for his care and patience through the experience. She HIGHLY recommends Dr. Das, if you already have seen a doctor she suggests you stop and get a second opinion from Dr. Das.

Dr Das is one of the finest surgeons I have ever met. I have met and worked with many surgeons over the years as a workers compensation attorney. I am so happy that I found Dr Das! For the last 4 years, I have been dealing with increasing abdominal pain, and Dr Das confirmed that it was diverticulitis. The surgery was scheduled for early March, and I had a fantastic outcome, thanks to the outstanding care I received from Dr Das and his team. I went home from the hospital with minimal pain, and within 1 day of discharge, I no longer needed to use my walker. In fact, I was walking better than I had in years. When I had my 2 week follow-up appointment with Dr Das, he was very pleased with the outcome. There is no one else I would consider entrusting my care to - wish I could give Dr Das and his team more than 5 stars!

Dr. Das took care of Mom and made sureshe was taken care of like he was her Mom. Surgery was difficult but everything went so well - we went home the same day and my mom has felt great. He did it all with such a great concern and actually met with us and me -- you dont get just some of his assistants. you get the guy himself. His office is busy! Scheduled a small but embarrassing procedure at Kirby Glen Surgery Center with Dr Das. Arrived at center at 10:30 am. Was in pre-op by 11:00am or so. Was visited by Dr. Das to thoroughly explain the surgery procedure. Dr Wells Anesthesiologist also came in to check past health history and surgery anesthesia procedure. Surgery nurses introduced themselves and reinforced my well being in the operating room. Very reassuring and made me feel at ease. They get 5 plus stars. Surgery scheduled time was 12pm but was moved up to 11:20. Surgery time approximately 20 minutes and I was back in post op recovery. I give pre-op nurse, surgery nurses, and post op nurse all 5 stars. They were all medically professional and communicated extremely well. Genuinely concerned about me and the tasks at hand. Dr. Das gets 5 plus stars. Truly professional, through, and giving excellent communication with me and my waiting family. Can't say enough about how well the operation went with an excellent team and facility. I would highly recommend the Kirby Glen Center.

My husband is a former surgeon, biomedical scientist and hospital administrator, he went to Dr. Das for colon surgery for diverticulitis. So far the results have been stellar, Dr Das is wonderful. He's a sample of only one patient but I rate Dr. Das tops. But a word to the wise, if you get this done, following the doctor's orders are key -- be devoted to it. In his case hewas driving in three days and playing golf five days later. Everyone is different -- I hope you get results like ours, we;re now three weeks out, still pushing himself at the office. Thanks, Dr Das.

I have prior experience with Dr. Das. six years ago he performed a colectomy on my daughter and one year later he did my colonoscopy. In both cases we were back to work in one week. This gave me a new start for enjoying life again. Once again my daughter could play golf, walk, dance, and go up and down stairs with no pain or discomfort. When I started having diverticulitis issues, I had no concerns with having Dr. Das evaluate me. I wanted to have the surgery as soon as possible because I was confident that the outcome would be the same as my experience with my daughter. Not only Dr. Das, but, his entire staff are an example of what you wish for in a major life surgical experience. Thank you Dr. Das and your entire team.

I am an Occupational Therapy Assistant, and work with Physical Therapists and Ortho docs. When I had to have part of my colon removed I asked the PTs and surgeons who they would recommend. I was surprised at the unanimous recommendation of Dr. Das by all 4 practitioners, who have worked in various settings. Upon meeting Dr. Das I immediately felt comfortable with my choice. Besides being a skilled surgeon, he is open and approachable about all questions, and immediately put me at ease. He and his staff are very professional, and very efficient. My surgery went great, and my pain was well managed. I can jog without pain the very next day and even my scar is minimal. I live in Conroe, and travel to Houston to be a patient of Dr. Das because he is that good. I would recommend Dr Das as a surgeon to everyone, and I wish to thank him and his staff for doing such a wonderful job.

After my son left Miami for Houston, I was very worried he would not be able find great care for himself but he grew up and left. When my son had to have his colon removed for cancer I was very pleased he met someone like Dr Das I flew in for the day of surgery, and Dr Das so so calm and collected -- he talked to me. It made perfect sense -- no doctor had ever actually explained what had happened -- why it happened. Surgery went well. When we saw the cancer doctor after the surgery in Miami, he was amazed at how the decisions were made and how he said Dr Das was "very skilled" -- we just say he was amazing.
