Dr. South is no doctor. She was my Mom a Dad's primary Dr. When they were diagnosed with Covid she wouldn't treat them because they were not vaccinated! My dad suffered 9 days in the hospital and died! A healthy 73 year old who loved his work and worked every day! Like every trade there are hacks! Doctors are no exception!! BEWARE OF DISMISSAL FROM DR. BETHANY SOUTH!!! I was a patient of Dr. South for years & was unfairly dismissed from Rowan Family Physicians for sharing a written concern with her. I was always respectful, always paid my bills & always showed up for my appointments. I never did anything that would warrant a dismissal from the practice. I never so much as even had a warning that I could be dismissed. If it wasn't for the dismissal, I would give RFP a good review as the staff & other practitioners are exceptional. All I wanted was more dialogue with my doctor than just her saying that my labs were normal. I was having symptoms that needed discussion & instead I was dismissed. Several times I tried through Novant Health's patient advocacy department to amend the decision because of two reasons. One, Dr. South did not adhere to Novant's Patient Bill of Rights that states that I have the right as a patient to express a concern without fear. Two, because I had another practitioner in the office tell me that she would be glad to see me, but Dr. South wouldn't allow that. How can that be? How could Novant Health allow her to completely dismiss the Patient Bill of Rights? How could Dr. South stop a patient from being seen by another doctor that was willing to do so? I thought surely the patient advocacy department would help me. They did two reviews that only included speaking with the doctor. I was never contacted to be included as a part of the review. Each time, I received a letter that stated that what Dr. South did was appropriate. It stated that the doctor-patient relationship must be based on openness, trust & good communication. Was that not what I was trying to do? Isn't the doctor-patient relationship two-sided? I tried to explain that over & over again with the patient advocacy department, but it never got me anywhere. When I requested to speak to someone higher up, I was told there was nobody else that I could talk with & that the matter was considered resolved. If only I could have the opportunity to talk with the President/CEO or any of the other 9 Executive Vice Presidents that Novant Health has as a part of their leadership. What would they think of all this or would they even care? How could a company allow someone to be unfairly treated after being such a good customer/patient? I would still like to have the opportunity to speak with someone higher up. I will & must continue to try to find someone that will sit down & talk with me concerning this matter. Who else has Dr. South dismissed & for what reason?? This is totally unacceptable Novant Health!! This is my first time ever writing such a review, but I warn you to be very careful if you decide to see Dr. South!!! Whatever you do, don't try to ask her about anything that you've heavily researched on your own. She will shut you down & will not listen. It's her way only! She has most definitely proven that! Dr. South has been my doctor for several years now and I value her medical opinions. One of the reason I like her is that she takes time to talk with me about my medical problem.

I had to give blood & go get x rays of my legs to make sure l didn't have a blood clot. My legs & feet were swollen so she said l should take fluid pills & prop my feet up. She was very nice. Thank you !
