Dr. Bertram Zarins

This doctor violently battered me in his office. Kept hitting me with the needle. Stay away from him. Also lied about my injury. Dangerous

Dr. Zarins is an excellent surgeon. I'm now four years post ACL reconstruction and meniscectomy with no pain whatsoever and the same level of performance in my leg that I had pre-injury. His stitching along the patellar was so good that I have zero scar.

Worse doctor ever. BAD, bad bad

Dr Zarins is arrogant , cold and dismissive . I had to go for an independent medical exam and I believe he was working in the best interests of the Insurance Company and not the patient . He also twisted by bad shoulder hurting me badly . If I could give zero stars I would . He is old and incompetent and should no longer be allowed to practice medicine . Loved meeting him for a consult on a day before appointments started at 7am because our schedules didn't work. Answered all of my detailed questions and used bioabsorbable screws, which is what I wanted. Very grateful for his service on my acl repair. As a NE Pat's team & a US Olympic doctor, he's one of the best! Used him a second time for the other knee a few years later. I highly recommend him for anyone! Disinterested, delayed responses, unhelpful/seemingly outdated advice

Do not waste your time. This doctor is outdated and is unaware of current practices. He will not help you. He will think you make no sense and send you off. I suggest you see another doctor who is recently educated, so they can understand more of what goes today.

I had a good experience with a prior knee injury with Dr. Zarins in the 90's, but more recently he failed to diagnose or treat my problem. I had severe pain following a fracture and I saw him twice and he told me nothing else could be done - live with it. Eventually I saw a surgeon who quickly diagnosed synovitis, which is common after the fracture I had. It was easily treatable with a couple cortisone shots. I suffered permanent arthritis damage to my hands from using a cane for months.

I was violently attacked and abused by this man while sitting in his office. I live with the injuries. Please do research and ask around the medical community about this guy. You will discover what is going on with him. He has hurt many and is well protected because of his influence at the hospital. As one nurse told me - he should have retired years ago. Personable and competent - does not recommend surgery unless you need it.

I am very grateful to Dr. Zerian's He is a kind man and his superb experience is what gave me my leg back ! I think if the world knew about him no one will ever go anywhere else. He did a reconstructive ACL surgery on my right leg about a year ago, when others did not want to do it.. now I'm completely back to normal ! I sprained my knee (meniscus). I was referred to Dr. Z by my PC who told me that a sports doctor would help me get back to “normal”. Z told me to get gel inserts for my shoes and to listen to my body (the knee is always screaming so I was already doing that). Z said my other options were partial or total knee replacement. Strikes against me: overweight middle aged female wearing non-cushy shoes and not team member of a pro sports team. He had no interest in me or helping me at all

Dr Zarins attended to the second ACL surgery on the same leg for my boyfriend. He and the entire staff he works with provided stellar care and instructions for us and made a somewhat anxious situation as easy as possible. Dr Zarins possesses the best combination any doctor could hope to have; a great bedside manor, the ability to level with a patient, impressive experience & several years of it, as well as an artistic precision in the surgeries he performs. We feel blessed to have the care available in the Boston area...it is the best in the world, and certainly Dr Zarins is among one of the finest practicing in his field. Didn't listen, rushed me out and made no sense. Bad experience all around- waste of time and money. I would not recommend him.
