Dr. Bernard J Bernacki

Dr Bernacki is a DO (doctor of osteopathic medicine) which focuses on a holistic approach to patient care vs an MD. Although he appears to listen to a patient’s symptoms, he isn’t quick to order tests to determine the root cause of the illness. So you may suffer in pain. The office staff are overworked, not the brightest; and often rude. There are a lot of physician practices out there so choose wisely for the best patient experience. I had been a patient at this office for approximately 7 years. I had been seen originally by Dr. Bonner until he left and then by Abigail Hazi the nurse practitioner until she left as well. I was then switched to seeing Dr. Bernacki. I had been having back/hip pain for the last 2 or 3 years and when trying to get the Dr. to take an interest in my health or to help me find out what's wrong I was basically ignored. I had to fight to get sent for x-rays and then find out that the x-rays were not of back like I had thought they were going to be. I was last seen in the office in December 2018 and it was known about my being in pain from my back and never received a follow-up call to see how I was doing. Flash forward to May and my back flares again and I contact a new PCP and they get me in within 3 days of calling and start me on a process to help fix and find what the issue is. Come to find that I have a herniated disc, that probably could have been caught earlier had the right X-ray's or care been given, and caused a lot less grief and pain. I love dr bernacki. I’m 24 and though he apparently specializes in geriatric he doesn’t great with me. Love his personality and the way he treats his patients! Even if the office is packed he never seems to be in a rush and truly takes his time with each patient giving them the best care. That doesn’t mean he’s slow and the office is rarely packed but when it is he doesn’t just blow off his patients to get done. He explains things very well and I trust him!
