Dr. Benjamin J Kulow

He knowingly prescribed medication I'm allergic to. Refused to change it. Prescribed more medication that was extremely problematic for my health history when many better options were available. Booked me for a different surgery then he discussed with me. Had extremely blood shot eyes during visit. I felt like my future health is at risk with him as my doctor.

This is a doctor beyond all doctors. He is so approachable, listens carefully and responds to all concerns. He is by far the beat doctor I have ever seen. He inspires so much trust.

I am so thankful for Dr Kulow, his nurse, Abby, and his staff. They are so compassionate, really take the time to listen and answer questions, thorough and excellent in diagnosing and treating the issue, very accessible and easy to contact when needed, and very thorough in checking in and following up on everything post surgery. I really felt well taken care of as I saw them go above and beyond consistently. Previous surgeons I visited weren’t really fighting for me to be 100% healed and back to normal. Dr Kulow was. Am 5 weeks post final surgery (seton placement and then advanced flap procedure for fistula) and feeling 100% back to normal. Such a blessing. Highly highly recommend. Dr. Kulow saved my life. I had a terrible diverticulitis flare which was chewing up my colon, and he got it out of there and cleaned up the infection. I was incredibly sick and in pain. I was scared to death, and he was amazing. He spoke to me on my level, not speaking down to me in medical jargon. He drew pics to help explain, he shared things about his own health to help build trust. After my colectomy, I saw him in the office numerous times, and he responded to all of the silly questions I asked and emails I sent. On top of me getting so sick, I got divorced in the midst of it, and he was sure to check on my mental health and let me know that I have support. When it was time to reverse my ostomy, I was resistant for a number of emotional reasons. Kulow talked to me like he was my friend and helped me accept that it was time to move to the final phase and close up my stoma. My last surgery was in October 2020, it also involved a hernia repair and he was so flexible, working around another provider's schedule while also honoring my timeline. Kulow stayed with me up until the end of the year when my insurance changed. I pray that I never need a colorectal surgeon ever again, but if I did, I would do everything in my power to find my way back to Ben Kulow. He knows what he's talking about, he's the best at what he does and he makes it feel manageable. He is kind and funny; he taught me to use humor to get through this.

SHORT WAIT BUT WORTH EVERY MINUTE FOR THE RESULT. DR. KULOW EXPLAINED EVERYTHING TO ME AND ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS. PROCEDURE WAS PAINLESS.
