Dr. Benjamin Barton Cable

Over 1 1/2 years ago I was referred to Dr. Cable by my PCP for treatment of my nasal polyps. I immediately liked Dr. Cable when we met the first time. He asks all of the appropriate questions, listens well and exhibits a sincere concern for his patient. Dr. Cable surgically removed my polyps and placed me on a simple maintenance regimen that has solved my breathing issues and prevented the polyps from returning. He is not only an outstanding doctor, but one great human being.

He the only doctor that listen to concerns about what was going with my ear and sinuses. He explained step by step of what he was doing when he put a tub in my ear. Before he did my sinus surgery, he told me exactly what he would be doing and to expect after surgery. He is very friendly kind and shows the cares about you. When he come into the examining room the always reaches out and shake your hand like he is happy to see you and always as how are you doing. He truly cares about his patience. At my last appointment I found out he is leaving, and it saddens me. But I understand his reasons for leaving. All I can say is that Carilion is losing an outstanding doctor in my book. And I know he will be miss by other patience.

Dr. Cable performed surgery on my sweet baby girl when she was just four days old for Choanal Atresia. We couldn’t have asked for a better surgeon. We could have been waiting for weeks for this surgery to take place, but he moved his schedule around to for her in! He always made sure we understood everything he was telling us down to the t. He was always on top of everything. When he told us about his move it bring our hearts. We would have loved to have him to continue the care for it daughter. Dallas is lucky to be getting a phenomenal Peds ENT. We hate to see him go, but wish him the very best!!

Wonderful, caring and committed doctor. He sincerely cares about his patience.. I live in Roanoke, Virginia and before becoming a patient of Dr Cable, who has supervise my care , I had to travel to Duke for good ENT care. His knowledge and commitment is far superior than most doctors. He will be a severe loss to the Carillon facilities.

Dr. Cable is one of a kind. His professionalism and bed side manners are 100%. He has worked with my wife and I on both of our children and made us feel heard and validated. He is one of a kind and a true treasure in the Roanoke area. I would highly recommend his expertise and practice to anyone who needs a visit to the ENT. If I could give him 10 stars I would. Wonderful man and wonderful doctor.

Very personable and direct. Takes his time to make sure you understand what he is telling you. Very updated on your history with Carilion. Exactly what you would expect from a military mam.

Dr. Cable took wonderful care of me and was so kind and compassionate. He did much work on the inside of my nose and my sinuses. I followed his instructions and got along great. I am having the best Spring and Summer I have had in many years because of His care. I recommend him highly.

Dr. Cable, was very professional during my office visit and took time to evaluate my problem, explaining what his solution would be. This far his surgery is working. Highly recommended.

Both, Hayleigh, and Dr Cable were so friendly, patient and thorough. I had just been to another doctor about the issue I was having and he explained nothing to me. Dr. Cable explained what happened and what to look for if my condition occurred again. He answered any questions and assured me that he would be there if I had any issues. I didn’t feel like he was rushing through like most places. Wonderful experience! I hope nothing goes wrong in the future but I know that I trust him if I ever need to be checked again. May I also say that everyone from the young man that helped me out of and in my car to the check-in were so nice!

I am very sceptical of doctors and takes me a bit to trust them. However I have had the best thing ever happen to me on a first visit. TRUST.!.!.! Dr Cable came into the exam room with full medical knowledge of me. He got to know me before we met. He actually read or thoroughly looked over my medical records before entering the room. He exhibited compassion respect and real concern for my overall health as well as the the growing lymph node in my neck. His knowledge and knack for teaching his staff and his patients is a warm welcome for those of us that want know about and unerstand our health. Through all of my visits and surgery he was very honest about all things concerning the not so little beast in my neck. His bedside manner and kindness are outstanding. This doctor and the staff in this office are A+++ in my book and I will forever recommend him to anyone in need of an ear nose and throat (ENT) Doctor. This one is a keeper Roanoke, let's hold on to him... and Carillion you need to hold on to this doctor. He is worth any and all compensation you put forth. Hold on to him. I have had many ENT over my years, but Dr. Cable is the first one to help me get relief from my vestibular imbalance, my constant runny nose and so many other issues. He is understanding and he listens which many doctors don't do. He's not in a rush or trying to poo poo what you say. I don't like anesthesia and he worked with me so I could avoid any during a turbinectomy or even for scoping. He is all around what I wish more doctors were like. thanks

Dr. Cable was very nice and professional and took good care of my son. He headed perfectly after surgery and everything was wonderful!

Dr. Cable is a very caring ENT physician. He takes time to discuss his findings and treatment plan. As we share a similar hearing loss and he understands my financial limitations, I appreciate that he does not push me into buying a hearing aide at this time. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an ENT physician.

Absolutely amazing “bedside manner,” kind person, knowledgeable, and professional. He is everything you hope a doctor you go to will be.
