Dr. Benjaman Travis Wilkins

Very poor experience. Office staff is very unprofessional. They don't do what they say they are going to do and then when you try to get referrals for things, they want to argue with you about it instead of advocating for the care that the patient's need.

I LOVE Dr Ben Wilkins, he’s an awesome Dr and Completely trust him….but HIS STAFF IS GOING TO RUIN HIM. During a pandemic they want me to bring my kids in for a wellcheck. I got a dozen calls and VM’s of them saying I HAVE to bring them in because they are due for a wellcheck and if I don’t we will be fired as patients. I call them because never in the history of 12yrs of parenting have I ever HAD to take my kids in for a wellcheck or ‘else’. The nurse then backed up the voicemail and repeated that indeed, if I do not bring my kids in for wellcheck when they are do My kids will absolutely be dismissed as patients. I explained I was not comfortable with bringing my kids in during a pandemic if they are not sick. She again forcefully explained if we do not make a wellcheck apt my kids will be dismissed as patients. We will be changing Dr’s and it really stinks because I liked Dr Wilkins and really trusted HIM! But I can’t fight his staff constantly like trolls guarding a bridge. So sad.

Dr. Wilkins is great but his rude & unprofessional staff ruin the office.

I usually don’t post reviews unless I have to. I’ve read several comment stating that the staff are rude but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. The DR is awesome but he’s got some Super rude staff that lack knowledge about vital information.

Before jumping to conclusions at the 1 star: Dr. Wilkins is fine; he was nice and helpful, accomodating of my conditions, and did his best. The clinic itself, however, is awful. I recently had my pharmacy tell me that a refill request for my anti-depressants was denied by them. After calling, they told me that they'd no longer allow me to get it because I hadn't had frequent enough appointments. When I explained that the withdrawal from a medication I had taken almost uniterrupted for 2 years was so bad I could barely function, and that I was not once informed that I needed to continue appointments for a prescription listed as having unlimited refills, they hung up on me. All they had to do was nod their head for me to continue taking the medication that has allowed me to get my life in order. But they refused. If this happened to a higher risk patient or someone without access to another provider (which I thankfully do, who was willing to prescribe it over the phone), this could very easily get someone killed by depriving them of necessary medication. Dr Wilkins is Ammmazzzinngg!!! He always explains everything to me if I don’t understand something and goes into details explaining it so that I understand exactly what’s going on not to mention he is just awesome with my kids and always finds a way to put a smile on their faces , one who is really shy and won’t hardly speak to people he doesn’t know yet and he laughs and talks to Dr Wilkins every time now !! I do agree that the staff should read these ratings and take into consideration that they don’t have to be rude an cranky every single time and then charging you for an appointment because you can’t make it in time for whatever reason, an appointment that is covered by ARkids and you have to pay if ur unable to make it ... so I just try my best not to pay attention to any of that because Dr. Wilkins is the best doctor that I have ever used for my kids and I would highly recommend him to anyone !! I have been very impressed with Dr. Wilkins. My child was a patient at Children’s hospital and Dr. Wilkins read all his previous medical papers to be up to date on his health care needs. He’s very kind and knowledgeable in his field. He cares about his patients and that is hard to find these days. We highly recommend him.

Dr is good but his staff is disrespectful and rude

Dr wilkins is a great doctor but his staff is extremely rude. They will only refer to places that THEY prefer. Their interest for a child means nothing. They would rather a child go unseen then to refer to another pediatrician, but get to choose where they will refer to based upon their discretion only.They charge for missed appointments even if you weren't notified about the appointment. By far the worst staff I have dealt with and I refuse to continue having my daughter seen by them. Dr wilkins is a great doctor but his staff is extremely rude. Awesome pediatrician!

He’s Fantastic doctor! I’ve been going to his office for fourteen years and I never had one bad complaint.

He’s such an incredible doctor, went to him last minute before we travel to Africa and he did everything he could out of his schedule to get my 3 yr old vaccines. Every visit been awesome and you just feel he has the kid interest at heart. Love him and his staff.

We really like Dr. Wilkins! I'm critical and not very trusting so that says allot. I will spend hours researching any and everything. He's a great doctor that will actually listen to the parents. That's rare these days.

I liked Dr. Wilkins and the APNs. However, the office staff were rude on several occasions. They tired to charge us a "no call/no show" because we missed an appt. due to my husband being in a wreck. Bc we didn't call within the hour of the appt. and wreck they were going to charge us. Also on two occasions my child's GI Dr office has requested a referral from them and they failed to send it upon request. So both times I had to call several times to get the task accomplished so my child could see her specialist. So now we are having to switch.
