Dr. Barton Lewis Sachs

This HATEFUL son of a gun ( being nice ) didn't even LOOK at the MRI they told me to bring. Instead he spent 40 minutes INTERROGATING me - Went to him for a second opinion - about my two other fusions " why'd you leave Dr ___? Why'd you leave Dr __ Accusing me of drug seeking ! Finally put up the unnecessary xray they require was so nasty saying there's NO REASON you should be having such bad headaches you're looking for drugs. I was so mad I started crying. That's when he called in 2 nervous staff members" as though they weee his witnesses. I got my purse medical records and sobbed into the waiting room .** Turned out I had a trapped nerve causing occipital lobe headaches! I had quick surgery that lasted a long complicated spinal situation ** The security guard and staff member told me confidentiallly " please turn him in " . Bad reputation. Othopedic chair NEVER did a thing .THE NERVE to mail me to tell me he was retiring . Hopefully, virus had him laid him off !!

replaced three disks in back, i had major pain immediately after surgery that continued to this day...when asked about pain, he said it could not be from anything he did, did not want to talk about it...he is more interest in impressing his interns than talking to you, his patient.

The worst experience I have ever had with a Physician, he is incompetent, do not go to this man.

Very unprofessional!!! The 1st visit seemed great. Went back the 2nd visit and he basically called me a LIAR! Told me I had a bulging disc on my spine then said he never said that and then wanted to argue with me in front of my children that were at my 1st visit with me and remembered he said I had a bulging disc on my spine. I had a serious spine injury which left me unable to sit, stand or walk. I required medical transport to get to my doctor visit. I saw Dr. Sachs on a Thursday and had surgery the following Tuesday. Now 10 days later I am standing and walking. While I still have months of rehab ahead I am optimistic about my future. Dr. Sachs has the prefect combination of skill and experience you would want in a spine surgeon. I know what a difficult decision it is to have back surgery. That decision is made easier when your surgeon has 40 years of experience and is training future generations of spine surgeons. I can't thank Dr. Sachs enough for giving me my life back. If you are considering Dr. Sachs you MUST read this! I had a serious spine injury which caused me to be unable to sit, stand or walk. I required medical transport to get to the doctor. I saw Dr. Sachs on a Thursday and had surgery the following Tuesday. Now 10 days later I am standing and walking. I still have months of rehab ahead of me but Dr. Sachs has given me my life back. He is an experiences, skillful, caring surgeon who I highly recommend! I know how difficult a decision it is to have back surgery but you should be confident if you choose Dr. Sachs that his experience and skill will produce a good outcome. I can't thank him enough for what he has done for me!

I would give him 0 stars but since that's not an option he gets one. I have never been treated so poorly by a physician, or anyone for that matter, in my entire life. He was Beyond rude and unprofessional.

Dr. Sachs does not seem to understand chronic pain patients. I believe he has little to no knowledge about the use of opiate medication for treating chronic, intractable pain. I would not recommend him to anybody. Like another reviewer, if I could give him 0 stars I would.

He was rude. I was explaining what was wrong with me. I went to explain what previous doctor diagnosed with me with and his rude response was We're not here to talk about what another said. His whole office was unfriendly. The only nice person was the one that took my vitals. Yesterday was my first and last appointment with him. From the moment he began to treat my mother, he was kind, caring and professional. Explained every detail of her care, from initial consult through surgery. So thankful for his skill.

I had back surgery 30 years ago in concord NH and haven’t had any issues with my back since my surgery. Titanium rods and fused pieces of my hip and pieces of my rib into my spine and it’s still going strong 30 years later. As far as I’m concerned he did a fantastic job.

Dr. Sachs is the most caring and attentive doctor I have ever delt with . He saved my life when I was suffering from a major scoliosis; he corrected a 55 and 80 degree spinal curvature that was effecting my overall functioning and movement. I have never had a problem since he corrected the deformity; my hardware has stayed intact and I have no limitations on my physical abilities. He is caring, attentive , with a careful attention to detail. I never suffered post-op while Dr. Sachs maintained a concern about prescription addiction. I do not understand the previous reviews. They do not represent the experience I have had. I can not express adequately how I appreciate the work and dedication of Dr. Barton Sachs.

Dr. Sachs seems ignorant about the use of opiate medication for chronic pain patients. I hope his attitude is ignorance, because otherwise he is biased and judgmental. If you have chronic pain, do not waste your time with this man. I would not recommend him to anyone. I did not respond to the rest of this survey because it does not matter how easy it is to get an appointment with a bad doctor.

I can agree with the above he is so uncaring. I wouldn't refer this physician to a dog. He ordered all types of xrays and I had already brought my mri and x rays with me. Just ran up a tab and didn't even touch my back only neck but said nothing was wrong. I was in a car accident never had any problems with back or neck but yet he said it was from aging.

He performed what was supposed to be a full laminectomy and discectomy at L4/L5 in March of 2003 at Texas Back Institute. What he did was a poorly executed discectomy and an incomplete partial hemilaminectomy and then closed me up. He never told me this and was very rude, complained about my weight. I didn't know until recent MRI for fusion. I was 5'11" 215 at time of surgery. 98% of other ortho drs. are better than this guy! Please save yourself the frustration and failure, choose someone else!
