I went to him over 30 years ago when he was at the Summit Medical Group in Summit NJ, while I was growing up there. I had problems with cystic acne. He used some type of instrument to get rid of the comedone under the skin. It hurt and then got badly infected. It was a disaster. He is hard to get to know or talk to, and is a difficult personality. I did not go back after that. My mother also had the experience that he removed some skin tags or moles and then rushed out of the room, leaving her bleeding and didn't even put any Band-aids on. She called the nurse and made him come back in.

You are in trouble if you see Dr Barry Silver! He prescribed wrong drugs for my excema, which actually put me into heart failure. When I tried to speak to him on phone to tell him of my reactions to the drugs, he REFUSED to talk to me. Several more attempts to speak to Dr Silver led again to his absolute refusal to talk to me. The nurses I spoke could not get him to contact me. One star is even far too much to rate him.

Rude secretary gave attitude by the phone and in person. She did not explained the need of “electronic referral” when I scheduled the appointment. At the office, in an angry mood, she even doesn’t look to my face to talk to me, said the doctor’s referral paper do not work. It was like they were doing a favor. Definitely I’ll find another doctor.

Dr. Silver is an excellent doctor. After 2 years and multiple doctors, Dr. Sliver was the only one who knew what disease my young daughter had since she was 10 years old. After his care she was cured 100% of a very rare disease called reticulated papillomatosis. This disease was horrific for such a young child and greatly affected her. After seeing many dermatologists, endocrinologists, and pediatricians none of these doctors could help or knew what her ailment was. Dr. Silver is a godsend!

Dr. Silver diagnosed my son with Molluscum which is very common. He suggested a treatment that he would do in the office and would take care of the condition in a couple of weeks. My 8 year old worried it would hurt and the doc said it wouldn't. He gave no other info about the medicine. 2 hours after we left the office my son's skin started burning really badly. Turns out this is to be expected for a few days (hoping sooner), but this info should have been given to us. I wouldn't go back.

Dr. Silver is wonderful ! I am a nurse and my husband is a physician. We both are patients of Dr. Silver. He takes excellent care of his patients. He spends time with you and answers all of your questions and addresses all of your concerns. He is the BEST dermatologist I have seen.

Dr. Silver has a poor bedside manner. He's cocky and the entire office is only interested in doing special procedures. They even want a credit card number on account. The intake form is 8 pages listing some of what they do, even something with the vagina. Go somewhere else. Don't waste your time or your money. One of the worst doctors I have ever seen!

Hurried questions with a bored approach, very presumptuous n disinterested attitude...after 3 visits I had enough of him.... Gave him a chance or 3...and undeserved money....
