Dr. Barry Kenneth Nelson

He prescribed Effexor XR to my son for anxiety at the age of 21......my son died from an adverse reaction to the medicine shortly thereafter. He was too busy to come talk with me and help me try to find understanding because he saw 12-15 patients daily 6 days a week. Per the DSM Effexor XR is "recommended" for patients over 30 years old........Dr. Nelson told me he had an adverse reaction.

Don't go to him because if He gets even more famous I will have difficulty making an appointment. But seriously, Dr. Nelson is simply put "perfect". Compassion but not coddling. Intelligent but "down to earth" , On time but never in a rush, Flexible yet will say no when it is in my absolute best interest. Very quickly earned my trust. Kenny M.

Dr Nelson is patient, kind and readily available. He is great as a partner for young adults who also have therapists and need medication management.

I have known Dr. Nelson and have seen him for almost twenty years. Dr. Nelson is the only Doctor who has helped me overcome anxiety, helps me with my depression to the point that NO other pyhsician could. Dr Nelson is a giver and his goal in life is to help everyone and takes the time to listen and will touch your heart and know your deepest soul issues. I was a licensed nursed for 40 yrs. I am retired and my son has ADD and other issues. Dr. Nelson has guided my son and brought him back to being healthy and happy. This man is a gift to many. He returned calls and emails and texts asap. Dr. Nelson does not judge but loves and enjoys his patients and his work. He is the ONLY doctor I trust with my heart and soul. He is caring, sensitive, strong and brilliant. He is like a brother who loves to see one happy and fulfilled and he never ever gives up on his patients. I could write a book on my experiences and sessions with Dr. Nelson. I respect him more than anyone and trust in him more than any other human being besides my loving parents. God bless you Dear Doctor Nelson. I am grateful I have this remarkable human angel in my life. Without his help to my son and I .... I do not think I would be here today to write this. My hope and prayer is that he lives on forever.... for I can not imagine my life without him.

Had seen Dr. Nelson for over 10 years and am worse now than when I started. He recently changed my medications for depression and anxiety and wanted me to follow up in two weeks with him to see how I was adapting to the new meds. I called at least three times and he never returned any of my phone calls. I finally sought out a new Psychiatrist who does take my insurances, unlike Dr. Nelson, who charged me $100 for a 1/2 hour visit. Dr. Nelson was very rude when I told him I was switching doctors.

I am extremely impressed with my experience so far with Dr. Nelson. If you seek a Dr. that is educated, articulate and very caring; you should strongly consider Dr. Nelson!! Dr. Nelson has stuck with me through a tough time and has kept me as a patient even after telling him a small fib!! He is all that you could hope for in a psychiatrist and I highly recommend him!! Dr. Nelson is a class act and a true gentlemen.
