Barbara Heller

I will not be going back to this office. Dr. Heller is very rude and lacks empathy. She did not even spend 5 minutes with me and brushed off my concerns and pain. It is unbelievable that a healthcare provider can be this cold and unprofessional. It was a huge waste of time to drive to her office and then sit there and wait to be seen. Do not bother with Dr. Heller. You will leave feeling much worse due to her callousness and impoliteness.

She took the time with me that most Dr. will not do. I appreciated her honesty.

Barbara was probably one of the best, most warm doctors who also worked quickly and efficiently to minimize my discomfort. She truly made a difficult visit so much nicer. Highly recommend!!

Dr Heller is amazing. She took the time to listen to me. In regards to my pain and my illness. And examined me extremely thoroughly And diagnosed me properly and thoroughly. Shes very compassionate. The following are my opinions based upon my personal experience with Dr. Heller. I was extraordinarily unimpressed and dissatisfied with Dr. Heller from both an interpersonal perspective and a medical treatment perspective. I will not be seeing her for follow-up. She was rushed, appeared not to be paying attention (as evidenced by her inaccurate note that was later read back to me by a nurse), and she told me not to take two of three medications that had been prescribed to me by the urgent care doctor from DuPage Medical Group that had see me the day before (but apparently Dr. Heller didn't note it in the chart and just copied and pasted the prior doctor's note). Dr. Heller also appeared not to have taken much, ,if any, time to review the MRI and X-Ray to account for other possible causes of sever pain. She basically said she did not know what she can do for me and prescribed PT. She also did not note that she had prescribed the one prescription to me, which made trying to seek a refill very difficult before leaving the country for vacation. I had read prior reviews and wasn’t sure what to expect. The nurse just said she is direct, some people don’t like that. I personally love direct all day long. I work and am a single mother, I do not have time for arbitrary. I will say, this doctor is incredible, thoughtful, listens, explains and ultimately cares she gets it right. WORSE DOCTOR EVER! SHE IS A BULLY AND HAS NO CONSIDERATION FOR PATIENTS. 1ST AND LAST APPOINTMENT WITH HER AS SHE WOULDN'T EVEN LISTEN TO ME WHEN I WAS TRYING TO EXPLAIN MY PAIN. SHE MADE AN ASSUMPTION ABOUT ME AS SOON AS SHE SAW ME. PLEASE DO NOT GO SEE HER IF YOU WANT PAIN RELIEF.

This doctor is very crabby and judgmental. She made me very uncomfortable and even criticized my primary doctor’s treatment. Very bad attitude. I have never met a doctor like this before. I was afraid to open my mouth. I answered her snotty questions as briefly as possible. I will never have this doctor treat me for anything. Doctors are supposed to help people and care for their patients, not make them feel worse.

Dr. Heller has helped me with back, shoulder and knee issues. She is personable, deferential and respectful. She has taken the time to ask questions and provide information. She has explained the various treatment options and supported my decisions. I can recommend her wholeheartedly.

I love Dr. Heller. 14 years ago. I had a stroke and through the years I’ve. Had trouble with falling due to dragging my left foot. I had much rehab, but the problem was never corrected. Dr. Heller, who after a few minutes, diagnosed my problem, drop foot. She sent me, with prescription, to a place that makes leg braces. I can report the following: I stand up straight when I walk, I walk with confidence without fear of tripping, and my quality of life is greatly improved. My wife and I thank you

Rude, off-putting, and horrible bedside manner. She does not listen. She is argumentative. She has zero patience. She dismissed my complaints. Within minutes she stated that there is probably nothing that can be done to help. I ended up terminating the exam and walked out. Why DMG still has her on staff is beyond me. I have never reviewed a doctor before but she wins the prize now! She needs serious professional remediation.

I had a large disc protrusion at L5-S1 and disc bulge and protrusion at L4-L5 and severe leg pain on my right side. No improvement after six sessions of physical therapy and one epidural steroid injection. For four months the pain got worse and worse day by day. I could not sit and was on bed most the time. I was suggested to see Dr. Paul for second opinion and surgery if needed. This was the best suggestion for me. Dr. Paul examined my MRI and the x-ray taken in his office during the visit, and said decisively “The herniation is very bad and you need surgery ASAP”. He managed to have the surgery scheduled right away and did it early in the morning at 7:30 one week later. Today, one week after surgery and two weeks since I first saw him, I walked in a park for one and half hours pain free! He is so good and I really appreciate his help to me, a total stranger. He has always a very tight schedule. But he managed very effectively with the help of excellent nurses and assistants. He finished the 2-level surgery on me in less than 45 minutes. His assistants reviewed surgery details with me and will also see me for post-op follow ups. Dr. Paul will be on vacation and I am glad for him to have a break since he worked too hard. I will miss him and wish him well. I am over 71 and will have my quality of life back thanks to Dr. Paul. Got a cortisone injection in hip ...have had 1in hip before and. 3 in back by different Dr.. In Naperville, not only did I never feel numb it hurt so bad like none of the other 4 I was screaming to stop and 4 people had to hold me down. I bit down so hard in pain broke a $1000 veneer on front tooth and will be calling them/ their Corporate in the morning...no one but no one should ever... Have to go through this much pain and be awake ever !!! Something was NOT right ... Never again going back

She is very rude seems like shes always in a bad mood. Forces you to move a certain way to check for pain and even yells at you if you tell her your in pain.she dont listen to the patients concerns, if its not her way it doesn't matter to her.deceiving not trust worthy.10/10 Would not recommend stay away from this "Dr"

Over the past 15 years I have had several cortisone shots from Dr. Heller for back and sciatic pain with spinal stenosis, including in the last 2 years. Each time she has been competent, courteous, professionally accurate, and I have been pain free because of her treatment. I cannot recommend her highly enough to my friends and colleagues--I am an RN.

36 years experience!?! Of what?!? She told me I had a muscle cramp...a few days later I was at immediate care with a possible meniscus tear! I don't have a medical degree, but I know more than this lady! She doesn't let you say anything or answer her questions. She doesn't listen...which might help with the proper diagnosis! Her appointments are blunt and cold. A WASTE of my time.

I had multiple compression fractures. Heller's diagnosis was lumbago. She sent me to the wrong therapy which made it worse. When I told her the therapy wasn't working, she acted like I was trying to take advantage of my company disability. I should have had an x-ray. Finally went to orthopedic surgeon who was shocked at my condition and placed me in a back brace for several months. She has had a detrimental effect on my quality of life. Stay away from her.

I would like to update my post on Barbara Heller. I went and had another EMG done at Barrington Orthopedic and let me tell you, it was a Night and Day difference! There was absolutely no pain! I flew through the EMG with no problems. This leads me to believe that Barbara Heller should Not be administering any EMG tests! If she had a bad day that day, She should have stayed home! I called Concentra's corporate office and filed a complaint! Stay away from this doctor!
