I had my follow up appointment for a reverse shoulder surgery. Everyone in the office was professional, prompt and friendly. Dr. Kumar is a brilliant surgeon. I have had two TSR on the same shoulder which were done in Ohio and went horribly wrong. I thought there was no hope for me to get rid of excruciating pain every minute of every day. I couldn’t use my arm and was miserable. After getting through the first week after surgery, I have had absolutely no pain. I begin PT next week and am feeling very optimistic. Thanks to Dr. Kumar, I am living life again.

Excellent doctor who explains what is wrong and what's needs to fix. Dr Kumar is a top Castle Connolly doctor who is in a special class of surgeons. Excellent manors and staff.

Was a good visit doctor was very good and understanding my problem . I would recommend him too all friends.

I have only had two appointments but cannot believe how smoothly everything ran. This is the only 5 star rating I have ever given. Everyone is very helpful and from a process standpoint there was far from the typical doctor’s office 30 to 45 after appointment time wait to be seen.

I had severe, painful shoulder issues and got to meet Dr. Kumar while supporting a friend. As a nurse, I found his post-surgical report a marvel. I came away knowing what to do and when. I got an appointment quickly, was evaluated thoroughly and readied for A Reverse Total Shoulder replacement. The entire process was smooth, exactly as described and I was given very clear instructions for my recovery, which has been excellent. A year later I have no pain and can actively use my shoulder!

Dr Kumar is the best. He did my husbands total reversal shoulder replacement 5 years ago. I will be getting it done in 2 weeks. I have a lot of faith in him.

The appointment we had at Coastal Orthopedic was very good. We were treated with care and we felt that the examination was very thorough.

I’ve never been treated so expeditiously at a Dr’s office before! I literally never waited more than 2 minutes in any area! And I never felt that the visit was rushed. It was extremely thorough!!! Excellent service!!

I recently had an appointment at Coastal Orthopedics because of shoulder pain and weakness I've been experiencing. I was very impressed with my entire visit. Upon arriving, I was warmly greeted at the front desk where they confirmed my appointment and obtained the necessary health insurance cards. Shortly thereafter, I was escorted into the patient room where the nurse obtained additional medical information (current prescriptions, specific problem area, etc.) Dr Kumar arrived soon and had me go through a series of range of motion in an effort to better isolate the problem area after which he provided his thoughts and next steps. i love coastal the only improvement would be to read back or clarify and confirm back to the patient which location the appointment is being made for!

Very pleased with the service I received. Dr. Kumar and his staff treated my elbow problem professionally and at the same time, explaining what they were doing. My elbow is 'on the mend' and I am quite pleased with the service I received.

This was my second visit to Coastal Orthopedics with Dr. Kumar. I found the staff to be extremely professional. My appointment, unlike many medical services, happened in a very timely fashion. I appreciated Dr. Kumar's professional demeanor. I will certainly return for additional orthopedic needs.

I had a total reverse shoulder replacement. Dr Kumar is fantastic and caring and thorough. I was not thorough on my upbringing and into my menopausal life, therefore osteoporosis got the best of me and my replacement is not adhering to to where it should. I am now on a regimented calcium vitamin d regimen after seeing Dr Kumar and his caring way of explaining it to me and going over the bone scan that I had done a few days ago. I am in my shoulder sling for three more weeks and then I go back and see him and hopefully it has corrected itself. Physical therapy is terrific Debbie and Heather are great and hopefully when I go back to physical therapy I can get through it this time without any problems. I also had knee replacements and Dr harkas is also the best. I've been going to coastal for quite a while and I would recommend them to anyone. They have three offices and I've been to all three and they're all very professional clean and caring. Over the past ten years, Dr. Kumar has repaired my right shoulder rotator cuff and performed a total replacement on my left shoulder. In both cases, my recovery has been excellent with full use of both joints by carefully following Dr. Kumar's protocol and working with the excellent physical therapists. I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

I went to Dr. Kumar for a for a frozen shoulder workup. He sent me for an MRI which cost $6,500 + .He did not discuss he potential costs , and I was shocked to see the billing. Drs cannot assume that every test is always necessary and be oblivious to the cost, regardless if covered by insurance.

I recently had a full shoulder replacement by Dr Avinash G. Kumar. Everything went extremely well and I can say he was the best surgeon for the job in my opinion. My recovery went well and my rehabilitation went well also. I highly recommend Dr. Kumar. He’s very thorough and particular about the rehabilitation afterwards. I am so pleased with my new left total reverse shoulder replacement! I have NO pain in the shoulder and my range of motion is great. Dr Kumar is a great surgeon (I am a retired nurse!) and is so concerned about his patients.

Had Total Reverse. Everyone kept saying...wait until the block wears off. Still waiting. He's awesome.

I did not have a great experience with Dr. Kumar. He did rotator cuff repair surgery on my right shoulder. After lots of bad pain, wearing the sling for the required time and months of physical therapy, it is torn again. Doctor says I must have caused the “fail” and I know I did not. I went to another orthopedic practice, met a terrific new surgeon and, without further surgery, am getting back the use of my arm.

I have had two left rotator cuff surgeries by Dr. Kumar, and the results were great! I have full movement.

My Mom had a total reverse shoulder replacement 2 1/2 weeks ago, at 88 years old, and is doing fantastic! Dr Kumar is awesome at what he does and insists on only the best for his physical therapy group! I would very highly recommend him to anyone needing to have shoulder surgery.

He had me begin physical therapy prior to the operation to help strengthen the arm and I began my rehabilitation PT just 4 days after my surgery and continued for 6 weeks. In October of 2018, Dr. Kumar performed Total Reverse Shoulder Replacement on my right shoulder. I choose Dr. Kumar based on prior replacements (hips and knees) by a Coastal Orthopedic Doctor. Due to following Dr. Kumar's protocol and the excellent Physical Therapists, I have full range of motion at my six month check up. Great Doctor and great Orthopedic practice.

Dr. Kumar gave me a total shoulder replacement and I am totally out of pain or discomfort 6 months later. After 2 months it was so much better than before surgery. I did my part by following everything they told me to do. Dr. Kumar is an excellent and caring Dr. and the staff at Coastal were all so wonderful. They called regularly to check on my progress and help me in any way they could. I highly recommend Dr. Kumar.

If you need shoulder surgery, I do not think you could find a better Dr! After having reverse replacement I did not take any pain meds after leaving the hospital, only 3 days after the surgery!! Such a kind soft spoken man! I would highly recommend Dr. Kumar!

Dr. Kumar did an excellent repair of a large rotator cuff tear. I knew what to expect before, during and after surgery. Follow up care was excellent and timely. After my injury I wasn't sure I would be able to continue in my passion, equestrian competition. Thanks to Dr. Kumar's expertise I am happy to be riding again without pain!
